MCS Closed For Season

Ya'll need to calm down. First off, is the money seriously that important to you? Ya'll need to realize that with the track closing, it puts a hard-ship on not only drivers, but fans as well. Now, everyone has to find a new track to go to, possibly new drivers to cheer on. But think about this....in the St. Louis area...how many DIRT TRACKS are there really?
1. Tri-City
2. Pevely
3. Doe Run
4.Fredericktown
5. Fulton

So, not all these tracks run every class. So what happens to the driver you followed at MCS? They either change cars around for new rulings, or sell everything.

Drivers of dirt don't do it for the MONEY. They do it for the LOVE OF THE SPORT!!! Money is great for everyone, but what about pride and the adrenaline rush? What about the local towns the tracks are located in that are constantly looking forward to drivers & fans coming in spending money in their restuarant, gas station, hotel?

As a fan of dirt, I will do everything in my financial power to follow my drivers where they go. But there is limitations of where and how often I can go.

Ya'll need to stop worrying about yourselves, and look at the bigger picture.

:(

yeah me and my brother need our pit pass money back for 7/11.
im planning on getting in contact with someone to insure i get my 60 bucks back cant afford to be giving them free money when i didnt race.

Did you get on the track and play sat night (im sure the play time wasnt free)

Sorry to see MCS closed

Wow! never thought that would happen, hard times but to see a track close that hurts the sport big time. Mel is a hell of a guy and I will race any track Mel runs. If he was born with money like gundaker was he wouldnt have to worry either. Hope to see you back on your feet soon Mel. You had a great thing going hope to see you reopen soon.

Big picture huh? If money wasn't important, the track wouldn't have charged to a entry fee to begin with.

Frankly put...Promoting a race track is just like any other business, You either run it well or it dies. Pretty simple huh? Mel and what ever family was involved? Well... we all saw what happened. They made a bunch of people mad and they didn't come back. That's the way it is. This one had nothing to do with the stupid economy either, in fact I get kinda angry about it but was purely the tracks fault. It had a good base of fans and race teams, and yet the owners/ operators were entirely too stupid to realiize what was going to happen if they continue to piss people off. You certainly can't make everyone happy but you can abid by the majority and hope for the best on the rest. This didn't happen overnight either, or even in a week for matter. It's been a continued problem for years! Yes I said years! That's more than enough time to figure out what you need to do to make it work. I'm actually glad it closed. That gives it a chance to be sold and run by someone who knows how, or at least cares to do a decent job.

Untill Then....Lizard Out

This is not a shock at all. piss poor owners who ran everyone off. You people had it good for alot of years. I personally hate to see another track close however, the current owners have no business operating any business dealing with PEOPLE. Please sell your property and give someone else a chance to rebuild mcs.

yeah so what if we played a bit but he said we will get in free next week well there is no next week is there?

and yes 30 bucks to me is important i race my car on a part time job so any money i have is very important plus now that MCS is shut down im probably gonna have to sell the truck and step it up a bit to a mod. dont want to but all other tracks that race the minis are to far away. if your in my situation where you try to get out every weekend on my budget you would understand. so ya'll can shut it. i was there every weekend there was a race.

Not sure about the rules but Bellville, pevely, tri-city, and highland all have 4 cylinder classes as far as I know. You might want to check into their rules.

Yes the track owners did this to themselves. This whole thing has nothing to do with the economy. All I am saying is, there are other tracks, yes distant may be a factor for some. BUT if a driver claims to be such a "die hard racer", then where there is a will there is a way.

It ****s, I know. I loved MCS, but home turf isn't always the best place to be. How else can you learn to adjust and be competitive with others if you have only raced at 1 track your whole career?

I have no dog in this fight but answer this please....
1)There post said if you were to run the make up race you are geting a refund. am I reading it wrong or are some of you jumping the gun on refunds?
2) Did you unload and hit the track at all?
3) I know all tracks / clubs / racing org. have differnt rules on payout so I'm just asking. The folks we race with the rule is if you pay your entry fee and hit the track just 1 time and if it rains out or for some reason the day is called before the A-Main everyone gets the same "Show up " points and no refund. how dose it work with you?
crazyaboutdirt you are right on. Most of you cry about an hour drive well We travel 5 to 8 hours away once a month to race and we find a way to pay for our racing or just stay home and we choose to do that on our own free will and except the loss if it come to be.
1/2 of you say "wow sorry to hear that you are colsing" and I'm with you on that one. Hate to see any race track close in any form of racing and 1/2 of you worry about loosing your money, again I'm with you on that one also but going to the track in this kinda sport one must go knowing there is a chance your going to loose most or all your money so what gives? You take your chances every time you head to the track.
Give the man a break I'm sure he's no jumping up and down that he had to close. JMO

A sport race is a competition of speed, against an objective criterion, usually a clock or to a specific point. The competitors in a race try to complete a given task in the shortest amount of time. Typically this involves traversing some distance, but it can be any other task involving speed to reach a specific goal.

I really wish there was a way to get your GARBAGE off of here for good!!! Maybe a BAN and an IP block will do just fine...

I hope in the near future, they get things worked out. Wasn't hard to see with the car count things were going down hill.

You had an option go home and get your money back or stay and play (not for free)

actually everyone that stayed and test & tuned didnt pay. except for racing fuel that is. Thats only reason why we didnt play for free. I was still told to get in free next week.
