modifieds where were you guys at????

dont blame the sanctioning body... no matter who it is. in all the rules meetings i have ever been in, NOT ONCE has been said " we are going to mandate 454 cubic inch all aluminum engines that say bodix of donovan on the side of them".. its the competitors themselves that vote to ok this high $$$ lightweight stuff. they want to make thier own car faster, and why not? after all, thats what it all about... problem is, if they were running 5th or 6th before, and after they allow this fancy stuff, they are still running 5th or 6th.. just at a higher cost. it didnt gain them anything.. just forced the budget guy a little closer to on the trailer and stay in the garage.

I feel that these high HP, small tire Modifieds are what makes the class what it is and is one of the reasons that I like it (challenging to drive). But the HP and tires have become out of hand.

I think that limiting us mod guys to 23 degree heads; Steel, Alum, or Stainless valve train components and a magnetic metal rotating assembly is at least a starting point. Heck maybe even to go as fas as limiting to a 3 7/8" stroke...

This would still allow you to build a motor that could make 610-650HP and turn 8000RPM , but hard pressed to turn 9500rpm....

This alone will cut out a couple of the largest expenses in a high dollar, high HP motor.... Titanium!

Easy to Tech], all you need is to pull valve covers & oil pan, a magnet and the ability to identify between Stainless, Aluminum, and Titanium.

Bottom line is allot of us don’t have the money to race this year, plain and simple. Family comes before fans, when we can afford to race… we will be back.

Pull the oil pan at the track are you serious... talk about adding expense! And changing the rules in either direction will do nothing but cost us all more money!!!!

Creating another class will do nothing more than cut current car counts.

If you want car counts up, work with any of the racers to help them secure sponsorships for the next year or lend a hand and get involved! a little help can go a long way!

It seems way too easy for so many to sit on the sidelines and be the observer...

where have you been jeff?

I just bought my first house earlier this year so I have been putting most if not all of my "would be racing resources" toward that. I miss making it to the track! I would like to make it out this year yet, but for now the car sits on jackstands. :(

i would love to race my mod, but i went through 2 engines in my sportsman, and dont have an engine for my mod. so if anyone has an engine, i will come race.
