Montgomery County Speedway to open again???

Not getting my hopes up but boy that would be nice. Hopefully this happens and Montgomery Co. officials don't screw things up.

Sure would like to see it open again. I know the drivers that used to race there would like to see it open again. There are alot of bad feelings that went on in the past. I hope who opens the track treats the drivers right.

The track will reopen as long as the planning and zoning board approves the special use permit ?
Their will be a lot of changes to the track and how the track operates .
If all goes well and the track is allowed to operate it will be very RACER FRIENDLY & FAN FRIENDLY !

While we are at it which classes does every one think we should run weekly ? and what changes do you think the track should make to provide a great racing facility and provide a great show for the fans ?

please comment

Would love to see it happen. You can put me on the list if they bring the B-MODs back. I think A & B-MOds would definately be two of the classes to have again. Mods are a good car count anywhere.

I would love to see MCS open again. It was a blast racing there, especially since that was where I got started at.

I would like to see limited late models run there.

Late Models, Mods, B-Mods, and Sprints. Sprints would put on a heck of a show. What changes are going to be made Casey? By chance will you be back racing again at MCS?

If they bring b mods back they should go callaway rules ....I know there are gonna be 25 plus b mods in mid Missouri with no where to race on saturdays

I think you would have a hard time supporting Late models and sprints financially. One or the other along with A mods, B-mods and street stocks or pure stocks...4 classes with good car counts would make a great show for MCS. As far as the fan friendly side. Hire a announcer that knows dirt track racing. Not just the guys who race MCS but someone who can inform the fans about big races in the area as well as stats from other dirt tracks. As far as the track. needs to be alittle longer with less bank.... just my 2 cents...

have the a mods. b mods. sportsman and limited late models like ulma. all these classes race fri at fulton and ran at the lake. you can draw ulma from central and west mo since warrensburg closed on sat night

As far as changes to the track it will be about 25 ft longer and a little wider with a lot less bank making it a lot racier for the drivers and a better show for the fans where it is not a follow the leader type of track where the drivers will be able to move around on the track and still be competitive in multiple grooves on the track at the same time.

But there will be a lot more info when the planning and zoning gives the ok and I think every one will be excited to see how this track will be run from a racers point of veiw I only see positive things from all the plans that have been presented so far looking at it from a racers point of view.

We will have a play day and a chance to meet the owner when we get to that point and I really believe the owner is fully commited to making this a top notch racing facility.

So keep it in your prayers that he gets the special use permit and you will see a very special race facilty .

another reason for having limited late models is the good car counts they have. years ago when we raced mcs and they had supers with fair to low numbers, and crate class had poor turnouts. you can run crates with the limited and be competitive like we have been for the last 3 years at warrensburg.. drawing 2 classes into 1, (crates, limited) would help car counts.

Thats a positive right there.
