Montgomery County Speedway to open again???

i dont have a car for this race season but i really enjoyed mcs and i would definately be back next year if they do in fact open. good luck to all involved in trying to make this happen.

I would leave the configuration of the track like it is. The place needs some GOOD red clay put on it. MCS was my home way away from home.....GOOD post kingeddy !!!!!

It would be cool to have a stable track in that part of the state again. I hope it happens.

Sam, I would have to say that statement is coming from a man that raced there from day one and also put the purse money up to try to save the late models. Casey Pearson is a class act person.

with all the friday and saturday tracks in st louis i think they should race on sunday nights with crates b mods a mods sportsman and mcs mini stocks

dang outta alll the comments nobody wants 4 cylenders there thats messed up thats how some drivers get there start i think they should have 4 cylenders there atleast a couple nights a year we could use a few more big shows even if thats all u have for use.

Midgets,Micros and every Hornet within 100 miles......Sunday's starting bout 4 PM. Be done early so the neighbors don't get pizzyJMO!

That would be great if MCS would open again. It was a fun track to run at.
I still have the old#20 so if they run ministocks I will have to dust her off and see if she still runs.

ahhh the legendary rams 20.... the car that always had the fans and owner guessing. those long nights putting the motor back together with painstaking details.( if we had less then 3 bolts left we were good to go) the famous toothpick in dist. trick to get that added edge ahhh those were the days...

If you build it they will come.
I know you have to have bMods but the sport mod is a very interesting idea.
If you need any block work done to get the place ready let me know.
Anything we can do to show support?
I agree with Mike Floyd on no aerosol carbs for bMods, didnt help LOS. Carbs separate As and Bs. Most original bMods guys have their carb still.
Great idea to extend, widen and take banking out.

NO SPORTMODS go with a bert tranny rule,no roller cam, steal heads, and what ever carb the track decides to run..for the b mods

Kenny is absolutely correct when he says Casey is a class act. If he states something you can take it to the bank. As far as class and track configuration I would run the b mods for sure. That was the biggest class they had. Run the same rules that they had there were 8 to 10 cars that were very competitive any night. Also in my opinion leave the track the way it is. With proper prep that track is very good with multiple grooves. Track prep just got lazy in the last few years it was open. The banking is what makes that little track. In the b mods there was always people running the high side and the low groove. With proper prep there could of been a middle groove as well. The mini stock class used to be good to with good counts. I think it could be again with the right tech man. That way other racers know they aren't getting cheated. I think that area chased a few people off from the class. That way they find out that they need to work on their set up more and not worry about cheating rumors. Set up a poll and see how many cars of what classes are in the area.

If Casey is behind the re-opening....then good times for this track. Hell of a racer......and a great person. Just ask anyone who has raced against him.........very sportsman like racer and im sure he will have his track like that as well plus he knows what it costs racing and will do his best to make rules fair and affordable.

I really hope this does happen. I hope that the county will see the good that this place can bring to the county. I will be there march 20th to support the effort to get it going. As far as classes go I think you need to stick with UMP A-mods as most fulton cars raced at LOS on saturday nights and they are shut down as well as moberly on saturday nights. B-mods for this year should stay with the same rules they did have and maybe next year get with fulton and switch to sportmods as that is the direction this class is going elsewhere, and the st louis area doesnt have any other track with b-mods correct? Have ULMA late models with street stocks and either a pure street/bomber class or mini stocks. But no matter what classes are run get a good tech person and will enforce the rules in place. I do like the fact of making the track longer and less banking but what is the time frame we are looking at here, is it something that will run this year and then make those changes for next season or have a late start and make those changes now? If you need any help with officals I am one who will be interested in that and Me and my company might be interested in advertiseing at the track as well, send me a pm.

But none the less I really hope the county gives this a go! It would be a huge mistake to not do it.

In my opinion, the best thing would be run Fulton classes. They run Friday with no Sat track around. Make the rules the same and both tracks will benefit. The average St. Louis cars are not going to come that often. You will need classes that can make full fields on their own. Having streetstocks instead of sportsman, will keep all of the old drivers out. If you want streetstocks, slowly change a few rules every year til you get there.

Again, It is just my opinion. In this economy not many racers can go buy new cars to race at their favorite track when they have a car to race in the garage.

I would agree with jk68mod on the sportsman or streetstock decision,, there are a lot of sportsman
cars just sitting in garages, because of no close tracks to run them. these guys would be there if
anywhere. and if someone decided to buy one, there is a lot out there for sale,,CHEAP
