Montgomery county ump or not?

we also heard talk of mel at the columbia swap meet saying montgomery will going to limited late models full time next season, this was great news for us and hope it is true....

But if he doesn't get another track out there (i.e. Fulton) to go with him on a limited LM set of rules--or perhaps FASTRAK--isn't he STILL going to be out on an isolated island? Wouldn't he be simply exchanging 8-10 UMP LMs for 8-10 limiteds? Just look at the weekly results on Callaway County's website--most nights in '04 they only got 6-10 limiteds.

It sounds to me like the old line about "Robbing Peter to pay Paul."

Never, never under estimate Mel Kinnaird. Believe me, he's got a plan lined up. He's not going to be left stranded on an island.

You mean like he did and is still doing to the sportsman guys? By waiting until a couple of months before the season to release a set of rules, or by having a totally different set of rules than any other track in the area. I like "flapping in the breeze" better.

More late model teams can afford $3,000 to $5,000 engines than can afford $12,000 to $40,000 engines. More cars at the track equals more fans in the stands.

I think they will be at MCS three times..

Shouldn't we have known by now? It's almost the first of March and FASTRAK doesn't even have the schedule for their "regular" series up on the website yet.

futlon has about 15-18 limiteds that will be running in 05,and mel and callaway have already been working together for the mods at both tracks.fact is if mel does do the limited thing there will be alot more cars because they can run callaway friday and montgomery saturday.the only track around fulton that runs limited is wheatland, there are many guys with mods that have limiteds but only one place to run that being fulton so they dont get them out often.

Actually I think most of the dates are established. I know Trashdog was going to be working on the Montgomery County website later this weekend and I think he'll have the schedule finalized..... (don't hold me to that though)...

Yes BP, you probably should know by now, but because we got started a little late in the season it put us behind the 8-ball so to speak. I know exactly when our dates with Montgomery Co. are as well as dates with all the other tracks. We are still working with a few other tracks and I look to have the dates with them confirmed very soon. One of the tracks we are still working with is what I consider the prominent track in our region. As I stated in another thread, the Fastrak Champions Series Midwest Region will have 15 Points Races as well as some non-points races. It is just a matter of days and we will have our schedule released. If anyone has any questions feel free to call me anytime.
