Montgomery poll UMP Crates and open Latemodels

I have not seen much interest in running these classes at this track from any racers ?
I thought that it would be nice to have another option for a place to run on Saturday's what are your feelings as racers?
please respond with intentions as to your support of this track under new ownership and promotion for the 2012 racing season .

Thanks
Casey Pearson

casey if you look at your earlier thread there were several people wanting limited late models like ulma. again they need a another sat night track and many from fulton would show. we have run with this group for several years with a crate and done well. they have rules already set up for crates to run with the limiteds. my vote is for limited like ulma. if you need more info i can get you in touch with their pr man. i am sure they would sanction the track for pts. many would like to run fri at fulton and sat at mcs..

Super's would be awesome, but i think a ULMA type rule set makes more sense for the area. That way the crates can run as well.

I agree with the above....Supers are my first choice and UMLRA are a close second. I think crates are a dumb class. It's a good theory and I like the reasoning behind them however it's not very implementable. A castrated Late Model just isn't any fun to me.

I don't see supers making it. It's gonna be hard to get them from tracks that are established already. It sounds like the ulma would be the best bet in the area.

Love the last sentence!!!!!!!!!!:cool::cool:

Let's be honest, your not gonna get a huge field of lates anywhere. You run crates your counting on your whole field traveling an hour or more, steel blocks eliminate all the supers, if you run supers anybody can show up and race and I'd love to see anybody in the stands tell me who's running what motor.

Casey, you have to look AT ULMA They need another Saturday track in the area. Callaway is only 30 miles from MCS and they allow Crates with their rules and the crates are competitive with them. Also some of the open latemodels can run if they have certain specs. If you chose not to run ULMA at least dont go with Crate only!! Car counts will be single digits most likely just like it was before. Open latemodels will have counts in the Teens but you will have to pay a lot more Purse to get that count than if you ran ULMA. Go to the ULMA website and contact them for details and pay what Lucas oil Speedway pays and I bet you get 18-24 cars a week easy. Callaway gets that most weeks and they dont pay well, most ULMA racers dont mind traveling if the pay is good but pay too little and you will still end up with a fair car count, but likely will have more cars that cant drive very well. Keep the car count up and those cars stay home or will only run Callaway. We miss Montgomery county alot! And the last few years it was open there were more and more racers coming from mid Missouri, and now with ALL those tracks closed you should make a killing!!
Good luck

And We will bring 2 latemodels weekly by the way as long as its not the decision you run Crates. Our limiteds can compete with UMP opens but the tire rule ****s. ULMA requires d55 and UMP is m20-m40. Would love to run more UMP stuff but the Tire costs forbid it.

If you want late models there only option is ULMA. You will not pull crates or supers away from the other STL tracks unless you run on Sundays.It seems to me on your other post the obvious late model sanction would be ULMA.

With Quincy going to UMP late models I believe you would have alot of interest from guys up this way if that was the way you went also.

I would be back!

I agree with Keith. There are a few out of that area that drives Late and they do go to I55 on Saturdays. If they would run UMP Lates they would pull some from I55.
