what time period

Isn't the NASCAR Hall of Fame sort of along the same lines as the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame? One BIG joke? As far as Rusty goes, I wish he cared more for where he came from but you cannot deny his accomplishments in NASCAR.

What has mike ever done?
@ Problem 00K not a lot of people around here has any respect for Rusty. Kenny yes but not Rusty or Mike.
Both good quotes.
Goingracing is right. I'm not saying rusty is a bad guy but just a JKaz
Years past I had a few friends tell me that they stood in a line to get his autograph and asked for 1 extra for a fan that could not make it due to the heat only to have him say "no only 1 to a person BUT if you get back in line I can get you another one" Not to say sometime he makes you pay for it.
BUT here's the kicker and the #1 reason I don't care for the guy. Fox High school puts this big sing off the highway at his old school saying how great it is to have a NASCAR family that went to that school and what He (rusty) never comes to any dirt tracks he grew up at or supports any events around town. Kenny on the other hand shows up every chance he gets anywhere he can and the same with Kenny Schrader.
See in my eyes you don't haft to be a champion to be a class act driver. BUT you do get the respect back you dish out.

First off no disrespect to Schrader, he deserves to be in the NDLMHOF but he will never be mentioned on any ballot for the nascar HOF. Why would he? The man has 4 victories in a ride he inherited from Tim Richmond. Rusty won more races in six different single seasons that Schrader did in his entire career... http://www.driveraverages.com/nascar_stats/driver.php?drv_id=30 Rusty won the 89' championship, he is 8th in all time wins (every driver that is retired and in the top 10 are already in the HoF.) He has 55 wins, has finished 2nd in a race a total of 42 times. So out of his 706 starts 97 times he finished 1st or 2nd. He has 202 top 5’s almost half of them in the top 2. He has 349 top 10’s so almost half of his races he started were top 10 finishes. He is one of a hand full of drivers to have at least 10 wins in a season. The year he did it there were only 30 races so he won 1/3 of the races that season. He has consistently won on drivers tracks (short tracks and road courses) places where it was more about driver ability rather than aero advantage (9 time Bristol winner http://i.cdn.turner.com/nascar/dam/assets/120314074746-rusty-bristol-story-top.jpg). He did not race for a Hendrick, Roush, or Childress. He raced for Beadle who was a drag racer at heart and Penske, who is a great owner but whose true love is IndyCar. He was the USAC ROTY finishing 3rd behind some guy named AJ Foyt in the standings. Blah blah blah 1984 nascar ROTY, He also won an ASA championship, an IROC championship and is a two time NMPA driver of the year. He is also the first driver to win a nascar race on foreign soil. We could go on but you get the idea.I dont understand why you would fault a guy who worked his whole life to get to the top and then do what he could to stay there. He didnt come back to race a lot here (see wallace reunion at TCS 1989 and 1990, Wallace Family Tribute 250 at Gateway 2005) because he was busy winning everything there was to win. Why would he take his eye off the ball to run a $500 LM race against a field of guys who would run over their mother to say they beat Rusty Wallace? Seriously? Its ok to say that you dont like him, but to say he doesnt belong in the Hall is preposterous and shows a blatant jealousy. And as far as his relationship with the fans, come on people? Really? Have you met Rusty? Just say "I hate all things Wallace." But dont say he doesnt belong in the HoF, because hes going whether you vote or not. Haters unite lol!

The only reason schrader and Kenny come here is because the get show up money... Heck schrader even makes his own track pay show up money.

Its always been my understanding that neither of them get "show up" money. And I think its wrong to say that they don't care about the St Louis area. Each of them have invested in dirt tracks in the Midwest region and race here often. I'll quote a line that Herman used on twitter. Haters are motivators. And with as many of them as there are in this forum I'm sure that both Kenny's will be racing hard in the dirt for years to come. I certainly hope so.
