Never been to Fredericktown, what's the track like?

BVT you're 47??? So am I... 1958 Rocks.... LOL!!!

You've got a deal, BVT! - will be just the one young-un as this is my first, but I love the Black River and spent almost every weekend in the summer at the Corp of Engineer park on Clearwater when I was growing up. I miss it sometimes!

discribing the rock..

nestled on the outskirts of beutiful colbalt village a fast little 1/8 mile track giving you the nostlagite feeling of being back in the late 60 and early 70's when the track was first built fun family orentied race track that will leave a long lasting memeroy in you mind for years to come...

what you think:D :D :D I know KEEP THE DAY JOB:p :p :p

Pretty good description, Smurf! I like it. You could write ads for real estate! We'd just have to be sure to get you some spell check, though.

Speaking of when the track was first built - I'd bet a safe bet that my grandma was one of the first to get into it with someone there back in her day. She loved racing! That's probably where I get both my love of racing and attitude from (fortunately the attitude is calming over the years - both hers and mine!). I love my Grandma!!

WOOOOOOHOO SMURF EXCELLENT DESCRIPTION ....."TAKE ME HOME TO TA ROCK".........

I WILL BE THE FIRST TO ADMITT THESE LAST 2 YEARS HAS REALLY BEEN HARD.

CAUSE PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS ASK: "WHERE IS YOUR HOME TRACK?"
I COULD SAY "FREDERICKTOWN" AND WITHOUT HAVING THE FREDERICKTOWN TRACK I "TRIED" TO ADOPT: POPLAR BLUFF AS MY HOME TRACK AND I DO LOVE THE RACES AT THE BLUFF BUT, ITS JUST NOT "HOME" ...
I LIKE WATCHING RACES AT SFC BUT, IT WAS NEVER MY HOME TRACK EITHER........

SO, IT WILL FEEL SOOOOOOOOO GOOD TO HAVE MY HOME TRACK BACK AGAIN................

WOOOOOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
I AM SO EXCITED TO BE BACK HOME @ THE ROCK...

THEN COMING INTO THE "RETIREMENT" WORLD A NEW HOME @BLUFF VIEW TOO, 2006 IS LOOKIN GOOD FOR ME!!!!

I've been there one time and I thought the UMP Late mods. put on an excellent show. In fact I believe Rodney Pense 'rode the rail' and tore out some signage and went on to win that heat. Talk to Denny before anybody showed up and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

That was Mike Abney. He beat Hammerle at the line. That was a great race. Tore just about every sign down on the backstraight.

"Information on ROCK"

:D I'll tell you a bit about the "Rock" it's fast and you can ask any Late Model Driver from before how it was. Several from 55 raced it and they kept coming back for more; some awesome racing for all to see. Myself as I see it is one of the best friendliest tracks you can find. Don't get me wrong it does need a lot of work and they are starting on it. I love it down their and enjoy the racing so I can put up with those little things for a while till they get on their feet. Any true racer or fan that's into racing will go the extra mile for "The Rock" to re-open. I think that once it gets going you'll see mighty fine racing with guys in the pits that will help you in any way that you need. This is a family type track that pitches in to help one another, not like some tracks and racers. Come down and find out what your missing and see for yourself,if you don't like it well I'm sorry that will be your loss. OK, now" Millsey" you the man!! In more ways than one hats off to all the guys that hung in their and got her done!! I'm just so excited about this and if theirs anything I can do let me know, well like this no one knows who I am but my Buddie and I like it that way(LOL) seriously you can let "BVT" know and she can let me know something. Maybe we can throw together a craft, bake or garage sale to help out raffle off a Hot Date with Millsey! OK probably said more than enough. See you when the flag drops and the dust flies!! Forgot the grit in the mouth!!!:D :) :p Terry and Curly Thanks for all your time and hard work you make us all proud .:D In turn we'll put "The Rock" at the top of the list!!!;) PS for "BVT" you know I can't be their Sat. so I'm leaving my say with you we think a lot a like,if theirs work to be done etc.,count me in,but I remain the silent partner! LOL you know G/F!

Who knows, we might have to do some fund-raisers to get things kicked off and going. None of us have a bunch of money, but between Terry, Curley and me I feel like we've got as much if not more desire for the track to suceed than anyone! Plus we have got some of the most dedicated racers and race fans around. We aren't trying to get the track re-opened to make a bunch of money because anyone associated with local dirt track racing will tell you that's not possible. What we want is for all of us to have a place for us to go and have fun once again on Friday nights. I swear I'm going to do everything I can to make that happen.

Well I told you Millseyyyyyyy I got the "Auctioneer"!!! We can make some money for whatever we need for down there to start up or keep it going. He did a auction for the "Ducks Unlimited" @ Farmington in Dec and made them xtra $'s.
He has been doing auctions since he was in High School and he does a excellent job. Just give me a couple weeks in advance to put it in his schedule.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO there is NOOOOOOOOO MONEY in running a dirt track I know that for a fact!!! There is no money in "racing" .....
But, the dedication of the drivers and us fans are what keep the little tracks going and I will be there in "rain, sleet, snow, hot and cold" ...I am truly a "dedicated race track junkie" ......

Yes, Chevy Woman I know where your heart lays, too and we will get you down there this year so you can get some good ole" Rock dust in your hair and maybe even a pic with a big old Rock Trophy!!!! <wink> Powers said today he would come up and run now and then...Wooooohoo!!!

Yeah, Abney. That was a good race. Went down there for a funeral and I asked my kid if he wanted to go to the rock and watch the race to kinda lighten things up. I did'nt even know where the track was and apparently some of the locals did'nt either. I finally found someone who knew and I had a good time. The bleachers left some splinters in my arse but to me the rock is what dirt racin is all about.

;) Millsey if you guys need help etc.,let us know and we'll be their!! Know that opening a track and all that goes with it is a handful and I agree your not going to get rich with it but it depends on the riches were talking about,I mean the richest of seeing families etc.,getting together having a good time, the enjoyment you give to others. Don't get me wrong I know it's an investment and takes a bit to get out of the red but we're all here to help you guys. Even thought of like on race nights maybe some wives would like to make something to donate to track for things it needs or help to make pay outs. Example chili different sandwiches or some baked goods.maybe they would just like to bring plates and things like that. Just keep us in mind! "BVT" tell Powers and wife hello and get ready to race!! G/F what would I do without you!!
