new I-55 sn rain date.....

Don't forget entry fees for the drivers!!! Entry fee.....$100 for LM (seems low), expect about 60 cars for the show.....that would be another $6000.

It sure sounds good when we're the ones making the decisions. But I'm sure it's a lot different on the other side of the coin. No pun intended. And I'm sure there are a lot of unseen expenses that we don't know about. But man, it would sure be great to see something like this happen. I do think that there should be a larger split in the money between 1st and 2nd. Say $25,000 to win and $12,000 for runner up.

See! Even The Dog want this to happen! Come on Kenny and Ray, if you build it, they will come!!!!!

Seems to me that for that kinda money you would be able to get more than 60 cars...i would say you could pull in well over 100 latemodels from all around...

If you had a show that paid that kind of money you could still charge only 20 to get in and 25 for the pits and make a killing on money. Anybody know how many people 55 can hold? At the Dream they had 73,000 people there and it was 38 for 2 days. Thats 27,740,000 just form the stands. Thats not including the 120+ Lm that were there. I belive 55 could pull it off.

I-55 holds nowhere near that. Eldora web page says they only have permanent seating for 16,000 wich is still alot. I don't think there is a sporting venue in the St.Louis area that could hold 73,000 people.

Eldora definitely doesn't hold 73,000...

I've heard in the neighborhood of 20,000...

I-55 doesn't have near as many as Eldora. Maybe 1/3 of that...

Jimmy I bet Eldora has had that much before. They fill up most of the seats and have seating on the hillsides. Just the bleachers probably hold 10-20,000.

Maybe that was the stands and the pits. I'm sure there are a lot of people who get pit passes and seats I know I do when I go up there. Just looked at there site and there seating is 16,225. And unlimted hillside. So still at $38 to get in thats $616,550. Can't find a pit pass price but I do know that if you buy a 2 day pass it is cheaper. Not sure if I'm thinking of the right track but can't you seat in turn 1 & 2 on top of RV'S (only been there once).

I swear 20,000 people walked up to my tent and hollered woooooooo all night during the Dream. :) I know at least 2 had to sleep with the pigs across the street from the track. It has to seat more than that. Hell, 15,000 probably got hauled off for fighting during the race. :) :) :):)

I really don't know how many it holds but 20,000 is probably a good number.. Maybe more with the grass and concrete step seating.

i think we seen a couple years back when dale jr was at I-55 how many people it could hold.....there was a chit load of people there......

It is common practice to hide the number of seats your facility has from the IRS. I'm pretty sure that up until recently there wasn't 5 people alive that really knew how many people Indianapolis could really hold.

With the great racing that goes on at Pevely every week it is sickening to think that someone like Dale Jr. would bring in more fans. Not that I have anything against him, but compared to even alot of other NASCAR drivers (glorified street stock drivers are what alot of them are) he is mediocre. His dad was great, but he doesn't have the pure talent. Otherwise he'd run better on the short tracks. I would guess Pevely holds just over 8,000. That is about what Lakeside in Kansas City holds and Pevely looks to have a similar amount of grandstand space. 7000 * 25 = $175,000. 40 Late models with an average of 2 crew members = at least $90,000 ($30 pit passes). 40 modifieds at $30 is again about $90,000. $2 average on consessions (including beer this is an extremely low ball estimate and this is just grandstand) = $14,000

That means with the usual Nationals (with $30 pit passes) situation they could easily bring in over $369,000. With giving consessions only a $2 avg you have easily accomidated the consession cost. You could smoke the Show Me 100 payout with $200,000 and have at least a $10,000 to give the modifieds. You could even pay alot more evenly back through 5th place (the only spot where teh show me payout gets screwed up). And if you tell me that it costs the extra $150,000 to run the track (like it is normally ran) and pay for the extra security than you need to get a job other than promotoing. So that is that with $25 tickets (a one day show). 80 cars in the pits, and mediocre consession sales. Pevely could easily pull in $20,000 in proffit with a mediocre situation. IMO with the amount of fans that Pevely pulls in they should be paying the Late Models 2000 to win 200 to start and the modifieds 1000 to win 100 to start every night. The racers should expect it instead of feeding cash cow.

If they made as much money as everyone thinks do you think they would be working other jobs. Where did the $90,000 amount come from.
(40 cars x 10 crew members = only 400 people x $30 per person = $12,000)
