oil on a ford race engin

Ok My Tubes Are On The Drivers Side
Belive It Is A Solid Cam With Roller Rockers
It Does Not Have Oil Restricters In It
But It Does Have A High Vol Oil Pump
When I First Start A Race Under The Caution Lap The Oil Psi Is On 60 Or 65 When The Race Goes Green It Goes Up To About 80 For The First Couple Laps Then It Falls Down To About 40
But When A Yellow Comes Out And Rpm's Go Down Oil Psi Goes Back Up To 60
And When It Goes Green Again It Does The Same All Over Again

I Have The Only Ford On The Track [at The Track..] I Would Like To Get This Thing Lined Out An Start Kicking Those Chevy Camro's And Monti Carlo's Tails With A Ford That Would Make Alot Of Guys Mad Down Here[/QUOTE] just thinkin about beatin the camaro's has mad me mad!!!:D naw im j/k lowell that old ford does have some get up and go! and by the way we have oil blow by on our chevy motors we usually run clean socks weekly.

a good rule of thumb, you need 10 psi of oil for every 1000 rpm you are turning. to a max of 65psi. anything more, you are just wasting hp to turn an oil pump. as far as oil out of the breathers, these guys on here that think putting socks in the breather tubes is the fix, are kidding themselves. you are curing the symptoms, not the problem. either you have an oiling problem,(too much oil in the pan, or poor drain back, or too much oil to the upper end) or poor piston/ring/ cylinder sealing, that is causing very high crankcase pressure, fogging oil out the breathers. i suspect the 2nd one. like i said, oil out the breathers is a symptom of a more serious problem inside the engine. art.

KEITH TELL JEFF NOT TO GET TO SCARED WHEN THIS FORD BLOWS BY HIM lol:) :)

IN WHITCH I KNOW WILL NEVER HAPPEN
BUT THERE IS ONE CAMARO OUT THERE THAT IF I CAN EVER FINISH A FEATURE RACE
I WOULD BLOW THIS OLD FORD UP TRYING TO PASS
