OK, it's official, I'm spooked.... Where is everyone

One of the big problems with the track opening this year was caused by the theft of the starting-line cameras & cable. I just got off the phone from Portatree and I'm in the process of getting this taken care of. It's going to run about $1,500, but it's well worth the investment to keep the track open and everyone together. So what we need now is for people to stop trashing the track and start working together... Please...
Thanks,
Jeff

nice

I also would like to see the Dee's putchase it also but there not going to put themself in financial bliss. Jason an kris paid way too much for it when they took over. They expect someone too buy it when there is nothing left too buy they dont own the tower or the gate property no tractor or equipment, someone stole the cameras(wonder who that could have been?) You get all of that just for one low price. Plus, you dont even even get the mobilehome with a view! Come on dont that sound like a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They want someone that was dumber than they were to do Let's Make a Deal!

When we purchased the racetrack we bought it so that everyone would still have a place to race and noone appreciated it, yes we have had some problems the tower blowing down was not our fault and if you are by anymeans trying to say that we took the cameras you have got to be the dumbest person out there, cause that is about another 600 dollars that we would have been out. It is people like you that have brought this racetracks value way down but for some reason you think that it makes so much money cause you are always wanting more money but in reality you dont think that it is worth anything and you know what maybe not to you but to several it is. Do you ask Save A lot why they dont repave their parking lot with the extra money that they make???????? Worry about your own money and not others unless you want to make a deal as you call it. If it does not sell , then guess what it will stay under our ownership and that is okay with us!!!! hope you feel better have a great day

My intentions were not to trash the track because it is one of the better tracks out there and everyone has problems. But most people by a business to make money not to help everyone out. That is considered a charity organization. Didnt know Big River was doing that will have to ask my accountant to put down my racing money as donating to a charity. The weather is in gods hands and it was unforunate that happened. But who steals just two cameras and im not saying it was you that would be nuts but that was strange not stealing anything else? I'm sorry that the racers like me that pay my money too race bring my friends and family too watch and spend at the concession stand is what is ruining the racing. I also race mostly for the great time and if i do win it is nice to get a small portion of what i spent and what everyone else has spent to get there and to put my bike on the track. I'm sorry that i dont donate back too you after a win but i have to pay the credit card for the gas to get there and the parts that i bought. You get in trouble for not paying the bills. Money not being spent on fixing things having the bathrooms cleaned for everyrace, equipment that is not maintained until it is too late, lighting on the track that is a major safety issue. Making the place presentable to the customer (the racers and spectators) or possibly a new owner is what gives the racetrack VALUE!!!! Using the money that you make to advertise and show case your product "Entertainment". That gives you assets. Pricing to sell is understandable everyone wants to pay off what is owed but the next person has to beable to show the bank that what they bring in will pay for what is being spent and hopefully that over time the debt is paid. The owners will then see there reaps of there rewards. Did notice the last time that i was down that way that Save A Lot did redo their store inside and out. The parking lot might have a couple of potholes in it. Probably no different than the ones on HWy 55 or 67 have and i would think that they will get repaired shortly when the weather changes. But they spent there money were the people go were it makes the difference the store is clean and organized and the fliers are in the newspapers and on the radio. Got have people there to pay the payment , employees, insurance, electric and for the merchandise. I also think that they give to some charities. I do hope that things improve wether it is with the current owners or a new one. It is about entertainment and you need everyone to put on a show some good some bad! Just my 2cnts and i appoligize if i affended anyone!!!

It's amazing the difference a day makes. The phone calls I got one day compared to the phone calls I've received today. A totally new attitude with people about the track and it's future. Thank You!

WOW!!!!! THE WAY I HEARD I THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULDNT RUN THIS YEAR. IM GLAD THAT THEY ARE, I ENJOY RUNNING AND BEING A SPECTATOR AT BTSD.

Frankly I don't believe a word the BRSD Owners say. They blame everything on the racers!! How stupid is that. How can it be the racers fault? It's the owners JOB to have the track ready and the program ready for the racers. The racers don't owe the owners a damn thing, it's not hard to see where the problem is here. I was talking to a friend of mine who races there and he said they precharged a bunch of them for parking spaces. So where's the money for the parking spaces if they don't open? I bet that money is gone, gone, gone. I guess that would be the racer's fault too..... You people deserve a whole lot better. You have my sympathy.

Just a few questions.

I saw in a few posts earlier that Millsey said he ogt of the phone with porta tree and the new cameras would cost about $1500.00. Millsey are you saying that you would purchase the cameras for the track? Could the track turn in the police report to the insurance company? If there was a police report? and if there is insurance? I heard thru the grapevine that there was no insurance on the track last year except for a few major races.I asked my sister-in-law which works for an insurance here in St louis and The way i understood it that is if there is no insurance on the track then the racers are responsable. So if a bike or a car crashes or a part flies off and hits a fan or spectator then that racer or driver is financially responsable for the fan or spectators injury. Is theis the way the other tracks are ran or work?

Possum,
I have made the offer to possibly purchase the starting line cameras and the cable needed. HOWEVER, there have to be some other things taken care of before I can even think about doing that. I can't afford to throw any money away, I'm on a limited income. But the racers and people at Big River have always been good to me and if I can help out in any way possible I want to.
And yes, after being contacted by a few racers, I understand that insurance is a major question. I'll do what I can to get that question answered..

Excuuuuuusee me... did someone say (no insurance at the track?) I cant be liable for injuries to people in the event of a mishap. My insurance covers me. I always thought if you had people paying for an event that there was to be insurance to cover them. Carnivals, horse riding, things of that nature oh yeah, and auto racing. Short of me freaking out and running someone down on purpose I would like to think the track would cover them when the chevy thats trying to outrun me blows an engine and sends a rod into the stands. lol, that should get some people stirred up. And what if my new fiberglass hood flies off and whops some poor person in the head, what then? I wont be in any hurry to race this year it looks like. I will have to be shown that everything is in place that should be before I risk it.

Skydiving was fun too, I could take that up again since it seems I may not race this year. Gotta have a hobby people! 1-800-skydive

Will consider trading Sand drag truck for Mustang drag car or parachute lol.

insurance

There was insurance on the track and it runs in the thousands but, no in the off season the insurance is limited and the deductables are way higher than the cameras and needless to say that is a claim against an already high insurance rate, so whoever told you that the insurance was not there, they are wrong and from st louis yeah the insurance has never been through st louis. So there again just people over running of the mouth and making your own racetrack look bad..........you guys need to grow up and quit acting like a bunch of high schoolers and stop listening to stupid aquisations. There was a police report made and if you would like to check up on that call st francois county sheriffs department to check into it further. Thanks and Have a GREAT day!!!!!

OMG you guys spend too much time whinning

.
We have told you all of the information that we have at this time.

If you dont race there then you need to stop running off at the mouth without knowing everything too. The money for the spots goes to make the payments for the winter and besides that it is really no ones business where our money. So yes, the money is gone gone gone we pay the payments with that. Even though we are not racing we still have to make payments on the land. The spots have been being paid for on a prepaid basis for about 9 years now i believe and if they dont want to they are not forced to pay for them. We sell them to people that do want them.
But, thanks for the input and have a great day!!!

Calm down Christi...once the gates open and we all get high on racng fuel fumes everything will be normal again lol. Tis the off-season to be grumpy and bored. We dont race because we like to, we race because we HAVE to. Your dealing with adrenaline junkies here and we need a fix lol
