very sad to hear this..... I have know Carl since i was 15, he built my first 2 bomber engines and worked on a few of my sportsman engines. I always enjoyed going down to his shop to talk and learn from him and to talk to him at the races.
Sorry to hear of Carl's passing. Carl was good driver, good man, and if memory serves I believe he was a WWII veteran who served in France. Not sure about that one though. He will be missed. My sympathies go out to the Springer family for their loss.
Our deepest sympathy to the Springer family. Carl was one of the greats!
Yes, Jimmy and Bruce both loved to go to Carl's shop and work on engines with him. I knew it would never be a "fast" trip to Carl's, more like a very long, involved afternoon or evening of talking and learning about racing & cars & engine building & racing, etc. He made a great impression on both Bruce, Jimmy, and me. I think he knew how thankful I was that he didn't get Jimmy's first engine done until after Jimmy's 16th birthday. For that, I will always be grateful to Carl.
Sorry to hear this thoughts and prayers to the entire family. I always enjoyed listening to Carl tell stories about the old days. Its amazing how much you can learn from the people who helped get our sport to where it is today. He will be missed.
There are few people in my life that receive the same respect as I give my dad. Carl is one of them. I have been a fan since birth, and been involved with the family ever since. I have had the honor of getting away with addressing Carl as "Dad" for many years. You will truly be missed by all Carl..Our thoughts & Prayers go out to the entire Springer family during this difficult time, please know that we are here for you..
Our thoughts and prayers go to the Springer Family. Carl was one of the Greatest!
I loved to argue, discuss & laugh about the "rules" with Carl. He will be missed by many, RIP. Steve & Stephen
Wow what a big loss to our racing community. I will miss Carl very much; he was such a kind man and always had good stories. My prayers go out to the Springer family. May he rest in peace.
