And I don't know who brought it up, but, Since we are so overtaxed, why is our nation so in debt. During the Clinton Admin. wasn't the debt being worked down? Where has that surplus gone during the last 8 years? What happened to our surplus and who blew it? I guess since Bill is not in office we can blame him. He took it all with him didn't he. Or could it have been "Monica's" for the entire country??? That might be where it went, since that is all Bill was good at securing.

Oh no, I'm wrong.....don't even tell me......let me guess....the democrats overstated what the surplus really was, or it was artificially inflated.... yeah right...and Iraq had WMD's too.

I suppose the republican could have given it all to the needy....Yeah,. right, and Monkeys might fly out of my butt.... Thery are to worried that someone might get a dime that they are not deserving of so they won't give it to anyone but themselves.

So how about it Plummer...where's the surplus now? How did it disappear in one year? What on earth did we spend it on? And shouldn't a strong healthy nation have a surplus and be paying down its debt? Who was the only president who was able to balance the budget, and pay down our debt? And why did we get sidetracked?

You've had an answer for everything else....Don't be an Edsel and let me down now.

She also criticised President George W. Bush for letting the United States get itself into a position of weakness with China by borrowing so much money from the county.

"It has really put the Bush administration at a disadvantage, because it's hard to be tough with your banker," Clinton said during a conference attended by 700 members of the International Association of Machinists.

Great post! Doesnt matter the taxes ...its we have borrowed so much from a nation that doesnt give a crap about the enviroment..has no rules or regulations. Majority of the steel we scrap goes to china...gets made into steel and ...yes you guessed it..shipped right back to us. Because our steel companies could not afford the EPA regulations or the high wage demands and sold out. Goverment wants to help the economy by a stimulous package? Why dont they do just this. Tell China..we are done. We will go back to providing for ourselves as we had done years before. All we have done now is provided China with money..business boom and leverage when it comes to dealing politics.

1-Get this insurance fiasco stopped! Bring the rates back to pre 2001. They used this as an exscuse to raise our rates. People its been 7 years now
2-medical care! We need a unified medical care program and right now!1 the billions we are spending on a war that will never ever end...we could be pumping inot our health care system. by the way...where did we get all this money for a war when we are sooooooo broke? oh yes..foreign countries.
3-get all this political mumbo jumbo stopped! get to the brass tacks candidates. quit getting all this money(that can be used for our economy) and stop lying! Dont talk till election time becuase my boots are runneth over.
4-hold goverment officials responsible for their actions! Ole GB should be tried for starting a war noone with a right mind wanted. Because the Bush Admin. immediately started making cuts to "BIG Government" (as the Republicans call it) and many of these measures were eliminated. Who's watch was it when 9-11 happened? Who did nothing when first told about the first plane hitting the tower? Who sat with and continued reading with first graders when he was informed?

And I really don't know why we are over there, we've been lied to and duped in so many different ways I don't think anyone really knows. We were first told that this was a "WAR ON TERRORISM". Now we are occupying a country and told it is "OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM". If we were actively pursuing terrorist, Which is what we were led to beleive we were doing, Why aren't we continuing to throw the necessary resources at "THE SEARCH FOR BIN LADEN. How many soldiers are still combing the hills looking for him. And why did Bush make this statement 3 years ago..."we're just not that interested in finding him" ??????????? I guess because "We've cut off their funding". Thats the republican "toe line" But guess what, AlQuaida is still carrying out random acts of terror.

The 911 was plained years before it happened. The pilots just did not walk up and say let me fly. It took years and years to set 911 up, remimber the 1st boming of the trade center? Im not a Busch fan nor did I vote for him but it's not all him. Busch did like most americans NOTHING untill the 2nd plain hit the tower, so be fair. Im shure we are throwing the necessary resources to get Bin Laden, You just don't let someone know they are looking for you and are in there back yard before you get them, plus if we get him then what? We kill him too? Big deal his " people will just keep hitting us if not harder than before. By now the US might be waiting on another prez. to blame somemore of this mess on. This thread could go on and on but it will not fix anything. I say we all just go to the races and take it out on the drivers like we have been for the past 50 years.:D
 
Planned, not implemented. Implementation came during GWB's watch after he had made cuts to government funded stopgates put in place by Clinton. The FBI even had intelligence on Moussaoui in August, but "higher sources" in Washington (no doubt Republicans) chose to ignore the reports. And it was not years of flight training. There are records of Moussaoui trying to take flight lessons less than one month prior to the attacks. So yes, they did just walk up and say "teach me to fly a plane".


And if you so sure that we are still actively seeking Bin Laden, find one credible source that proves we are. The El Stupidito himself said it "Were just not that interested in finding Bin Laden."

And here is more evidence of your Republican "lets cut big government" at work. Cut and past of a Washington Times article. Nothing else like a Republican talking out of both sides of his mouth. One day he says "we will exhaust all resources in our war on terror", then another day this.

Without Clinton and the lame duck congressman NAFTA would have never passed. The american people should stick together and forget republican/democrat. Nafta, illegal immigration, frivolous lawsuits, oppressive taxes, not drilling our own oil, welfare, iraq war, bosnia war, somalia war, raiding of social security funds, etc etc would never pass if people did not lock step with any party. Very nice response. Ask someone else like your church, or help yourself, rather than your government who should help our citizens first, other countries second. There's also so much wrong with this simple sentance. This reminds me of the old proverb "Give a man a fish, he eats for a meal. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime." I'm sure that if Jennifer was really interested in a hand up, she'd be putting more than 40hours a week effort into her situation. This is a very inflammatory statement to Jennifer, I know, but, I'm not trying to slam her, just rather make you think. She's the one who took the responsibility to chose to have children with a man that did not stay with her, yes that's very unfair to her children, and they did not ask to be born, but come on, we all cannot start on the pole. It's not where you start the race, it's what you do during that race that that determines where you finish. The fact is, her children are afforded free education, it's up to her to nurture the growth of thier education, Just because she cannot afford prekindregarten, does not mean that she cannot sit down with them and teach them the same thing. King, actually we are probably closer in ends than you'd care to admit. I think we each travel a different path to get there, and with some fundamental different ends. I have enjoyed our debate, and if you'd like to continue civilly, I'll accommodate.
 
So the war should have been fought a long time ago. Whatever..were in it now, we are going at it alone. And you just stated maybe a different approach should be looked at. McCain is no breath of fresh air...his platform is more war in Iraq, No Nuclear Iran or Korea, and end Muslim extremism....Nearly identical to that of Bush.

McCain insists he knows about the war and what is going on. But just this week, McCain made a series of major misstatements about Iraq that revealed how little he understands of the situation on the ground. At a press conference on Tuesday, McCain said that it's "common knowledge…that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran," even though Iran is not helping al-Qaeda terrorists. Then today, the so-called foreign policy expert issued a similar statement linking al-Qaeda and Iran, which his campaign advisers have falsely insisted is accurate. It's not surprising, then, that in 1991 when discussing Iraq on CNN's Larry King Live McCain said "I'm not sure that if we did go in on the ground we could tell a Shiite from a Sunni, even from a Kurd." I'm pro choice, believe that stem cell research should continue, believe that some type of universal health care system should be implemented, believe that we should get out of Iraq now, believe that our borders should be sealed for one year while all illegals are rounded up and ousted. I am a member of the NRA but do not believe a president will completley outlaw guns although they should ban the sale of certain types of assault rifles that should be earmarked for military use only. I believe in the death penalty, and it should be enforced fully and death row should be eliminated. Those sentenced to death should be put to death in a more timely manner. Public viewing of the executions should be allowed and televised on TV. I believe that taxes should be temporarily increased for the wealthiest 20% of Americans and on the upper 10% of businesses until we are back in a surplus situation and our debt is being paid down. Repeal of the increase should happen at this point and those who paid the incremental tax should receive 100% tax repreive for an equal amount of money over the same time frame. I believe in free enterprise but not to the point that producers of our countries lifeblood (gasoline) continue to report record profits and falsely state that this profit is being re-invested in research. Some type of regulation is necessary. I believe that NAFTA should be repealed. I further believe that prayer should be allowed in school, the word God can and should be used whenever and wherever we please, and I believe that political correctness is b/s. I believe we have repaid the African American people for the injustice of slavery and anyone playing the race card should be fined. Racist remarks by anyone should carry a fine. I believe lawsuits should hold doulbe jeopardy for the litigants. If you sue someone and loose, you own them the money you were suing for.

Thats just a few. I can hear the name calling already.

Nice to blame the victim there plumber. I will not go in to every thing that has happened in my life but there is more to the story. On why I'm not with there father. Yes as a parent I should be educating my child and I do. The said thing is instead of teaching to read and write in the home you now have to teach them stranger danger and what to do if they are touch by an adult, and how to be safe. A child at 4 or 5 should not have to worry about these things. I want my children safe more then anything.

Yes you are right I could go out and work 80 hours a week just to make ends meet. But who is there raising my children? Some babysitter who is working for a paycheck also. That is the problem more and more parents have to work longer hours just to make ends meet so we have T.V. and video games raising children.

Do you really think I was jumping for joy to know I needed help taking care of my family? Do you really think I said I know I can do more but I'm going to sit on my butt and do nothing about it? No I was out there working. I was PAYING TAXES when I was on welfare. I was giving back what I was getting. Maybe not all of what I was getting. After I got off welfare I sure was giving back what I got. What happens when the kids are sick and they can't go to a babysitters for a week and you lose your job then what? I guess I wasn't doing all I could do to help myself.

Now I go out and work 80 hours a week and then when my kids are grown they ask mommy why I worked so much and never spent much time with them what do I tell them (by they way I refuses to say one bad thing about my ex-husband to my kids). Well I guess I will tell them that no body would help mommy so I could spend time with you. Then these same people who think we don't need to help single parents or low income family's will be the first to blame that single parent and low income parents when the child (or teenager) commits a crime saying why weren't they there raising there kids. Well I'll tell you where we were working 80 hours to pay the bills.

I pray to God you are never down on your luck and need a little help. I pray you don't have to ever worry that the gas or electric is going to be shut off cause you can't pay the bill. I pray that you never have to worry where the rent money is going to come from.

I don't believe that it is the governments job to "takeover" as you put it but it is the governments responsibility's to help keep the USA productive and you can't do that if there are homeless people who can't get jobs or higher education to better themselves. So there for it is the governments responsibility to help people who want to help themselves.

I have never been more disgusted by someone's lack of compassion for other human's. Please don't tell me that that I took what you said wrong or that I'm putting word in your mouth or that I put too much though into what you were saying.
