outlaws next year at bedrock, blue wazzom

Bingo Carl

I couldnt agree with Carl more. If your basing where you race a kart based on the payout, your in the wrong sport. I'll take a decent place to race, with
fair officiating over a payout anytime. I'll go even farther and say i'm against a payout on the Junior classes. Do you know anybody whos children get a check for winning a little league game? or soccer game? I understand it costs money to race, but there is no way in hell youre ever going to come close to breaking even basing it on a kart race purse. I guess i'm off the subject on this post, but i couldnt resist applauding Carl.

scott,if you read closely to my post acouple back you will see i said i dont race at bedrock, have a few times but dont weekly..name is joey and i have a phone number as well if you want that, been on here for 3 years now..i see nowhere that i nor 34 has bashed anyone nor anything..34 raced bedrock for a long time and his name is brandon schneider...this post was started for opinions, that is what you got wheather we are weekly at bedrock or not..as far as what you say about the blockzilla block and the briggs.. there is more difference then durability..better casting, better valve placement, valves are angled, better material,it accepts stock ignition and bolt on parts but if you build a stk briggs block open and a blockzilla open both all the same the zilla is much better...as far as payout, nobody is saying that we are gonna get rich off this or even make anything, trust me..all we are saying is payout will help to bring cars, everywhere i race i atleast get my money back at the end of the night...as far as what you say about jrs not getting money, they should get something,i would rather see them get more then the adults they are the future of racing...i could care less i am out there for the love of it,not to make a million,if i was i wouldnt be in karting that is for sure..

Joey, I agree that a fair payout is a necessity. With the conciderable investment a racer has made,a successful night(finish up front)should be rewarded. You must be real good to break even every night out!!
Yes payout does influance turnout somewhat, but a well run and maintained facility will always bring in the racers.
??? Wheren't we discussing "OpenClass" rules,etc.??
Let's all be @ the meeting and hammer it out.JMO :D

blue wazzom class

just a few questions if the class was to take off for next year.what tires would we run slicks or treads, what would the weight be. :)

i refine..i agree that a nice well run facility will bring in cars as well, and i dont break even everynight, some nights i miss setup, tear something up ect..but 75% of the time i make something or break even..yes the discussion is about opens, they always get side tracked on these boards..

20 racer...since it is the open class i would say there should not be a weight limit and there should as well be an open tire rule allowing the guys to run whatever tire they want..but if it will be a burris track next year it should be only burris slicks or treads..

also this is just a thought but instead of having two different classes, why not restrict the bigger engines,or adding weight to them to make it a more level playing feild..this way you will have quite a few cars in the class instead of splitting them up and not having very many...

weight

last year we had a weight rule in the outlaw class , it was 360lbs. it was not enforced but could be checked at any time. we talked about having different weights for different motors, but it would not work because the other area tracks would be different weights. so if you raced at different tracks on saturday nites you would have to re scale your kart for each and every track. dont you thing if you run the blue wazzom on slicks that would be an intresting race to watch. all that power and a guy that knows throttle control. be like running a late model with traction control.

Blue Wazooms

Larry, Tires, slicks vs. treads should be up to Bedrock. I believe the Zoomers have a min. weight requirement,WKA should tell us what it is. As for the Big Blocks adding weight to make things even,a big thumbs up !!

weight wont work.what if a 5 horse weights 390 0r 400 with no lead?make the ten horse put 50 #of lead?this has been discussed i dont see an easy answer except cu in rule? same things came up last year at rules meeting.hope this helps the rules meeting not meant to cause division here.just would be great if people could commit at rules meeting.we need to get list of people and call to notify of meeting.make some decisions!!!!!

the zoomer weight is around 370lbs but i cannot remember the exact number.. i ran the class a few years ago at the nationals..i dont see a problem with the adding weight..i have seen lights and meds in the stk class add as much as 40 lbs...i think anyone wanting or running the class should commit, then all agree on a set of rules that will go by and be enforced..

Again for the people that don't understand... Outlaws are OUTLAWS!!!

No rules except for safety. If you ran a latemodel and the modified guys wanted to run with you would you take a penalty so they could run with you?
Whats the point? Open tires, open motors, open weight. What is to understand?
The only snag is if it is a Burris track, then run Burris grooved tires.
It is that simple. If you want to run a outlaw get off your wallet.!!!!

I think my brother started this post directed at racers who are going to participate at bedrock in the outlaw class, and to establish rules that everyone who is going to & wants to Actuly Participate in. Are you going to racer 94 , 34 & Irefin going to Participate at Bedrock this Year???? Are you going to Commit??? If so what class ??? Open 5 briggs??? 10 HP Star??? Wazzo ??? What rules ??? I am Going to Participate in 1 or both OPEN classes. how about you??? I am pretty sure he was looking for a census if you will from racers who Participate at BEDROCK.

Scott, I'm seriously considering racing @ Bedrock in '05. I'll be driving a 10hp Star. This explains my particepation on this thread.Unless something comes up between now and the meeting,I do plan on being there.OK?
I just want to know clearly what game we'll be playing.I agree with Carl in regards to dividing the 5&10hp.As for 2cycles,they should race with the 10's.JMO

well to answer your question scott..yes i will be at bedrock this year, not every race due to other tracks and big shows i will be running..i plan on running the stk class for the money and ill bring a open along just to add to the feild and have a little fun..it is a blockzilla ..
