Passing points vs pill draw

Are we forgetting that there are 4 classes of race cars running at SFCR every week, and each of these classes draw for starting position in a heat race. The sprints are not the only class that has to draw for position, wouldn't it be a bit unfair to single out all the other classes. Just my observation, Steve Harris

No one's trying to single out the other classes, it's just a tradition that sprint cars have always qualified. I don't know of any tracks that qualify mods, mini-sprints(600cc) or street stocks on a weekly basis. They might, and that's a big might, qualify in a special event every once in a while. The sprint cars have always been considered the main attraction at SFCR for as long as I can remember.

here's a plan

pill draw works when done right. passing points are too complcated. and qualifying is just plain boring . if they did pill draw correctly there wouldn't be as much fuss (i say as much b/c everyone would complain which pill they draw) first of all get new people to do it, someone who is not a girlfriend or pit crew girlfriend or wife or daughter for that fact. also get the rolling thing back (sorry don't know the name for it) and each class can do them together at drivers meetings. just like pill draw last year if your not there see ya in the back. i personally think it makes each racer work harder for their position. it would also help calm some of the complainig b/c lets face it there's always something to complain about.

qualifying sux if you can't pass then you mine as well watch cars on the interstate oh wait they winged cars better yet the airport

That makes absolutely NO sense at all. I think maybe you need to stick to color by numbers. umm..at least I hope you can count better than you type.

Pill draws, qualifying and passing points all work when done right. Passing points aren't complicated if you can count. Everything you just mentioned above will still produce the same results as it did last year. There wasn't a problem with the pill draws last year, you just got a bunch of whiners that didn't like the outcome of most nights. I think qualifying is the most honest way of letting the drivers EARN their spot for the starting grid.

this track has a hard enough time keeping track of championship points much less passing points. and like other people said qualifying takes to much time and it is boring. not to mention racing isn't supposed to make you go back to math class it's supposed to be a FUN pastime. we probably wouldn't have to worry about this if certain people didn't have the hook up with their certain sponsers who just happen to own the track. then of course the other hook up in pill draw area. as a matter of fact i've heard a rumor that one driver figured out how the certain driver kept getting front row pole every week (which i might add the driver with the hook up doesn't need front row pole he's a good driver..cocky, but good). if you'd reach in the right side of the box there is usually a #2 or #1 there and once it was figured out they started shaking the box right before the driver who discovered it...hmm. what was the matter with them afraid of little competition?! oh but this entire thread means nothing anyways. nothing will ever change out at farmington unless someone bought it to have the racing a lot people grew up on... it's called fun and fair racing. i believe that disappeared a few years ago when money and politics mattered more.

Some of these posts that have been on here for the last few weeks are posts trying to get SFCR to try something new, something old... something different. Let's face it, fan attendance isn't what it used to be at our track. And I really think some of these ideas should be tried or at least be taken into account.

About the so called "cheating" pill draws, if "one" driver discovered this, then why didn't that "one" driver relay what he saw to the other drivers in the pits? Why wait and not say anything to anyone? And for the record, I'm not a fan of this person which you are talking about, I didn't care for the "boo-bird" speech, and I really think he handles himself in an immature way. BUT.....if it were me and I didn't personally witness this, I just wouldn't have said anything about it on here.

Now...qualifying......For some people qualifying might be boring, but what's boring to one person might not be to the other. It's all a matter of taste, is it not? If it wasn't, then everyone would drive around in the same color, make and model of vehicle. You're not going to make everyone happy, I don't care how hard you try. But you should at least aim for the majority.

Have you been watching your favorite movie again....Brokeback Mountain? (for those of you that have heard of this movie or even seen it, you should be laughing your butt off about right now!):D

i believe he did say something but what would happen it was hushed...my my. also people don't believe things from certain people..they think their just trying to get someone out of a race b/c they are competition just like i heard a few comments ago everyone has their way of veiwing things.
on the qualifying i do understand some people do like watching them. personally i do like to know who goes faster than others at events like all-stars and WOO but not every week jmo

yeah right like I 'd be watching that peice of crap and the only joke is -- ---- ---- now get BACK AND WATCH YOU FAVORITE MOVIE

Looks like the town drunk is at it again.... You're so damn dumb, you don't even realize it when someone gets the best of you. You have to get the last word in no matter how stupid you come across. And trust me...it shows in every one of your pathetic little posts.

By chance you wouldn't happen to be related to or a wife/girlfriend of this person that you are talking about? Because honestly, it's starting to sound like it's more of a personal vendetta than an opinion.

no i'm not wife or a girlfriend and no i don't have a "personal" vendetta against anyone...i, like many are tired of seeing this same crap go on. it doesn't have to be personal... their were people in the stands and the pits that got ticked b/c they can see the same thing happens every week. you don't have to be einstein to figure things like this out. it's a small town things get around.

Well if the fans want to be more involved why dont they get there early and draw the pill for each driver. It sounds like a good idea to me, that way they only have themselves to blame if someone is on the pole that they dont want to be there. I've drawn with the accused cheater on many of occassions, he shakes the crap out of the box before he draws, plus his girlfriend doesn't do the sprint car pill draw, shes at a totaly different table.

The best thing to do in my mind is get rid of passing points and go back to qualifying. Then you wouldn't have stacked heat races or being accused of drawing number 1 everyweek. Just my opinion.

I 100% agree with you. why all this complaining? (this next question is not directed to you) but isn't this called racing? I have watched racing for many years and i have seen great drivers start dead last in big features and still work their way through all the other cars. Come on guys and gals just go with the flow and have fun, quit complaining, your'e ruining the sport, which some of us love.

qualifing is a wast of time and wear on the track period. I go to watch cars race cars not a time clock. on the fairness issue if youre worried about someone starting up front every night go watch them draw or ask that another driver to draw for them that has worked other places. personaly i dont like the flat chips either but i dont think thiers a cheeting problem Ive seen them shake that box after they put them in. and if you know thier putting certin chips in certin places then get there before the other guy and get it youreself

With all due respect, watching a spin/crash fest mod. feature isn't exactly the hightlight of most people's night either, but I'm not sitting on here telling YOU that the mods are a waste of time and wear on the track.

New idea

How about arm wrestling competition? You start where you were eleminated. No greased hands or steriods permitted.:D
