Past Track Champions of Godfrey Speedway

i believe lou thery sr won a championship also championships in street stocks donnie baker and steve mowry i believe and yes terry cox did win his in 86 i will never forget that one terrys car broke in the heat and he drove my dad's (george price) in the feature and won the championship by just a few points to this day my dad has them two motley chassis denny built for us ontop the garage those were the fun days and boy do we miss denny didnt a guy by the name of roy braundamier win a few championships also he used to drive a red and white #7 wayne pride won a few also
 
If you ever want to sell one of those Motley Chassis, i want first dibs on them. I talked to Drew the other day. We keep in pretty close contact. We miss Denny here to. He was ahead of his time. Thanks, Allen Motley
 
If I remember correctly Steve Shive won a championship there the first year he ran. And i think it was street stock, but maybe not
 
this is a lil off subject but years ago don mcelroy and myself used to tape and broadcast the races at godfrey. are camera man was dan downy. i just wonder if anyone knows are has seen dan around like to know he had a bunch of tapes from probably01-05 or so. if anyone knows how to get ahold of him plz pm with info rob king

I know louie janssen was champion before i started working there because i was [pit man for his car and that was 1966 thru 1969 then i went on to be pit man with bob whitehead, then i n 1976 i started working there with clay landon as owner.

But most of the winners have been listed.
 
i have some photos that i bought from the track photographeer at that time. photos are from around 79,early 80's to sell if anyone is interested.

Does anyone have any videotapes from the old days? I have most of the stuff that was on TV but am looking for stuff from before that.
