pevely sportsman cars

JMG97, They could look through the spark plug holes and see your domed pistons...

The 3rd member is the center section, pumpkin, rear end gear or one of many other names. There are many exotic light weight parts available to go in there and it is all rotating weight that makes a difference!

They Also Have A Center Section That Kinda Acts Like A Traction Control. Can't Remember What The Name Is Exactly. I Think Black Gold Or Some Gold??? A Car Was Caught At Highland Or Granite Last Year With It I Believe.

When allied techs a car, what are they looking for? also what is the penalty if you let them tech your car, and they find something illegal?

IF FOUND ILLEGAL YOU LOSE MONEY FOR THE NIGHT AND POINTS FOR THE YEAR.

THEY TECH FOR VARIOUS THINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

Belkin...

Paul has said numerous times that the only way he will tear down is if he wins the race. He said he's not racing for points. He's racing for fun and to possibly end the year making more money (or slomewhat close) to what was put in.

Without winning the race and having the top prize to make the tear-down worth it, it just doesn't make sense.

I have known Paul for many years and he is a darn good driver. He has already proven in the past that he can be the dominant car. Same with Troy Naeger. For years, Naeger Belkin and Stuppy had been battling back and forth. Meanwhile Bauman has been picking up the pace and as of right now, is the dominant car.

Three other sleepers are on the Horizon. Mike Nicholson (where has he been?), Kent Nations and Troy Medley are gonna be the next dominating trio. Where will this leave Bauman, Belkin, Stuppy and Naeger - who knows? All I can say is that the Sportsman class has been a great show the last few years and it will only get better.

Let's not forget the Lowry's and crybaby Schmitt! (j/k Bob!)

That a shame he was doing great. As good as he has been doing it should be easier for him to get sponsors.

Why?

Mike Nicholson has retired and has his car for sale

I could understand if he was tearing stuff up on a nightly basis, but he was running good. Is he moving up a class or something?

This kinda $uck$!

no said he wanted to prove he was good enough to beat the pevely regs. now he is going to start fishing tornaments..His car would make a great one for someone who is wanting a winning sportsman . It is sitting in the garage turn key ready to go...

I have one set of gears with a full spool and never run them because it isn't enough gear for anywhere I go. In my opinion the only advantage to a full spool is that it is A LOT EASIER TO CHANGE GEARS cause they are lighter.

IT WASN'T LIKE THEY WERE PULLING HEADS. SHOOT, I WOULD HAVE PULLED HIS 3RD MEMBER AND PUT IT BACK IN AND BOUGHT HIM NEW GEAR LUBE IF HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN ME HIS PAYCHECK FOR THE NIGHT. :D

The fact that somebody that supports allied won't let their equipment be inspected by allied officials. Then comes up with a statement like"I'm not running for points just for fun". And that if he won it would have been justified because of the money envolved. Even if that person is not cheating, it makes them look like they are...

Do they make you tear down if you return? I think they should. Of course they will probably be legal next time. But at least they will have to go through the work to prove it. In my opinion, if Belken was to return next week and do the tear down. He was probably illegal the week he refused. Especially if he does it and didn't win. He will do one of two things I am sure. One he will not come back or he will do the tear down win or not. He will get tired of racing and not collecting his check.

What are allieds rules on refusing to tech then returning? Or refusing to tech a second time? Anyone know?

Tear downs are a part of running with a "limited" class. Especially, with Allied! You know this before hand. I think that is why some of their sportsman guys have gone elsewhere. It does get frustrating tearing the car apart for tech. The third member is pretty simple though, guys change gears between races. Pulling heads, for example, require a lot more effort and $ to put back together.

It is a b i t c h to tear down alot. When you race at Pevely or I guess anywhere with Allied, you know this going in. I have seen guys borrow a third member to run somewhere and it was equipped with something illegal, they just took the chance because it was not cost effective to purchase one. Even if that happens you know going in what might happen. All I can say is"tuff luck". If you run somewhere every weekend and you have something illegal, 99% of the time you knowingly were illegal. And I have know simpathy for those who get caught! The rules are the same for everybody and I must say Allied is pretty good about finding the people that are cheating. I hope my good buddy Kent gets his parts changed and goes back this weekend to show everybody that he has his program together and that his infraction was not the reason he is running so good lately! Good luck Kent and Newbie, maybe I can make it up there this weekend and watch you guys go to the front. Only wish I was also going to get to see Catfish Nicholson run also!!!
