I'm glad we made it up, but when you have a 3.5-hour trip you do tend to watch radar and weather. At 2 we decided just to go for it and if we had to turn around (which we've done for this race several times) due to rain then it would just be another long road trip. So, I understand the people who watch the weather. I also work at a track and frequently answer the phones on race day so I understand their stance on weather situation days too. Questionable weather kills the crowds in the grandstands. What a lot of people fail to realize because they get so caught up into the "I want to race mentality" is that you will usually still have quite a few cars in the pits during these circumstances (like last night at I-55) but you could throw a rock through the crowd and not hit three people; this is a very difficult turn of events for a promoter because in the day of social networking and the "it's all about me" way of thinking, a promoter is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. It's every person's responsibility to choose, without today's technology we would have never done it, we saw all day long on various radar screens that as the green on the radar got closer to STL that it was breaking apart, we took a chance and had a good night ... this time!

Not trying to criticize you, TTG. Just wanted to make sure that the track record by Moyer does still stand. I believe the WoO announcer initially announced he had broke it, and then backtracked to say he was just shy.

I was tailgating all day, so between the sky and the forecast i didnt think we would race. But oh my god, what awesome racing that was. That track was bad fast and and after a summer of so many 100 degree days, i was loving that cold air.

I drive over the road, and was in town for the weekend. You know darn well if I attended (which I did), then there was no chance of a rainout, because I'm not guaranteed to make the make-up date.

Yep like any other Sat they call for rain and it rains in Arnold we still go in a forward motion ! I was tailgating as well and everyone kept checking their phones ! Why ? Just roll with it if it gets rained out it gets rained out but I was gonna be there for the call lol ! And the call was some darn AWESOME RACING ! And and yes I had more vested then my 32 to get in ! A race car and pit crew ! The car count was Awesome ! Have you ever noticed the people ( drivers and crews and families ) who really have something to lose always show up rain or shine ! KUDOS to them !!!!! Thank You to them for the AWESOME show ! The news kept sayin 30 percent and it could break up ! Glad I took that chance :) If we got rid of alot of the modern technology everyones world would be alot less stressful and more fun !!!! Just sayin !

Not a problem racingfan03. What's right is right. I apologize to Billy Moyer and all in attendance last night for making the error.

Glad we got it cleared up for all concerned.

It was a great race night and I was really moved by the induction ceremony.
Damn those 50 kids looked awful young to be going into the Army.

TTG I am right there with you. that was one of the proudest moments for me to have ever witnessed and it made me very proud to be an AMERICAN, but to help out the cause a little, maybe it is the fact that both of us are just getting older. =) "The Wall"

The initiation of the young soldiers was a awesome sight. GOD Bless America. Thank you I55 for running a Great Show. Running the Late models first, mods second then sportsmen and pro 4 was the right thing to do. Eased congestion traffic wise and let people see what they paid for without going deep into the night. We sat next to people from Kansas City that was driving home after races. Thanks again I55 for awesome night and running a show the way it should be.

What TTG is good enough not to tell you is, I was the source of his misinformation. I was on the judges stand and heard the WoO announcer state the track record was broken followed by something about 100th of a second but with engine noise I didn't hear that he had stated the track record had been broken in error. When TTG returned I told him what I though I had heard over the PA.

To all the fans present at I-55, I'm sorry for the confusion that occurred regarding the track record. I must also apologize to Mike. The announcer's job is to entertain and to inform and Mike one of the best announcers in the business, unfortunately my error caused a source of confusion.
