Can't believe the bad news about my racing bud Billy Haffer. Had to be the happiest guy I ever saw at a race track, never in a bad mood, ever! One of a few that made being part of the show worthwhile. RIP Billy, you will be greatly missed.

When I talked to Photobilly's mom this morning, she said she was heading to Steeleville, MO to get his arrangements made and that she would call me back this evening with the arrangements for Photobilly. I will post as soon as I find out.

Needless to say I am like most and am completely blown away by this tragic news. I don't think I was ever in the same place with Billy that he didn't make a point to speak to me. Weather it be a simple "hey how are you?" or the tails of his latest racing road trip, he always made a point to speak. Just one of Billy's fine qualities. I can honestly say, I don't think I know a nicer person. I'm like many others and am a die hard race fan, but mine cannot compare to Billy's passion for racing. I think the man would have been at a race every night of his life if possible.

Until a couple months ago Friday nights were a certainty for me. If Belle-Clair was racing, I would be there. I would hear the best announcer there ever was and chat with a great photographer and genuinely fine man. Now two of those will never happen again, and the other is iffy. It's truly sad. 2012 has been hands down the worst racing season I have experienced.

God bless Billy and Tony's loved ones. Unfortunately I didn't know Tony and it sounds like my loss.
