Pretty cool shot. Looks like god took care if the inportant stuff: His house and the racing surface.:D Bee cool to see a shot of the church today with boats all around it. (Everyone giving thanks for what they still have)
Happy Easter Everyone and like the other post 5 days till opening night.:D:D

How old is that track? Everything looks kinda new and still being worked on?
Right now I'd haft to call that the best photo shot of the flood next to my personal favorite shot of Jim & Diane's in Fenton. (Thanks Jennifer)

Track is probably 8-10 years old.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will not open this year...

Hey guys look the three greatest things in life, god, fishing and racing. LOL
I got a great marketing plan too. Look you can go to the Bass fishing tournament on Friday night and, Racing on Saturday night, and church on Sunday.

It's a shame they don't get bigger crowds. Great racing! The place has lots of potential to be a top notch facility.

I thought the mosquitoes were bad there in the past, they'll look like B-52's this summer.
THANX RICH

The track hasn't been around that long -- it opened in April 2004. Lots of potential, good location, lots of room to expand as needed. It started strong and sputtered last year for a variety of reasons.

I heard someone in Cape bought it to put a hospital there. They see these photo's and that might change their plans.

I've Been To Poplar Bluff Speedway Three Times, Twice In 02 Once In 03
What I Didn't Like About The Place Was A One Groove Track With No Passing What So Ever, Way To Many Yellows Flags, took To Long For Line Up On Restarts And I Don't Remember How Many Classes .of Cars They Ran, I Think It Was 8 Or 10
The First Time We Left About 1:30, The Next Time We Left Around 2 Or 2:15 In Both Cases They Had Not Ever Started The Features Yet.
The 3rd Time Was A M.a.s.r L/m Show And We Were Out Of There By Midnight But They Didn't Run All Of The Support Classes That Night Either.
But The Worst Problem Was The Mosquitoes,( They Were Horrible) We Couldn't Sit Still
We Just About Sprayed Our Self To Death And It Wasn't Doing Any Good, They Were Even Getting In Our Eyes.
That's Why I Think They're Not Getting Crowds.
P.s.on The Most Part The Quality Of Cars Was Pretty Good But They Don't Need To Be Running 2 Classes Of Super Stock, 2 Classes Of Street Stock, 2 Classes Of Pure Stock, 2 Classes Of 4 Cyl.+ The Mod's And L/m.
I Think They Might Have Been Another Class To, Like Super Stree Or Something Like That, I Can't Remember Them All ( 2 Many Anyhow)

Now that you mention it the number of classes was pretty high when we went down there. However, I remember the track being fairly wide with lots of good racing the night we went. Mosquitos are bad in that area all the time. Pretty much anywhere in the Poplar Bluff area they're big enough to carry a small adult away. Weight your kids down if you're in the Poplar Bluff area.

I was told that same thing and the locals act like it's nothing while us out of towners got eaten of taken away by big bugs. So Im told. Anyone missing there kid?:D I think the bugs got them:rolleyes::D
