Question the outcome of the rules meeting for pevely

all this rule will do is widen the gap between the have's and the have not's...i belive the rule was put into place cause so many cars were built already and the board did not want to make existing cars illeagle...the crank claim is really out there,,who in their right mind would pull a motor out of their race car after a feature,in the pits,in the mud or at the least the dust..sounds like this rule was made to have a driver with less points get at a driver with a higher point total..at the least the claim should be $700 to $800,or have a claim on the whole motor for,say,$3500....before ya fine allied boys slam me for posting here please remember,i raced a sportsman (hobby car)for years and at one time was a allied board member (but thats a tale for another day) so i have a bit of knowledge on the subject..ya all have a nice holiday..lenny g.

Not only is there a claim on the crank, it is also a techable item (proper term?) As to dropping the pan/taking apart at the track, rule is that in restricted classes to bring tools and personel that any part may be removed at any time, not the exact wording but that is the meaning of it.

So actually there are three roads to go down on the crank issue #1 Claim #2 Protest and pay to see it #3 Tech guy has a tear down and has a look that way :D

All frames must remain O.E.M. from bumper to bumper except unibody cars.

All that does is acknowledge that uni-body cars do not have complete frames. This does not open any doors. When that part of the rule was added you Mike Sonderman running a mopar with tubing connecting the sub-frames. Talk about morphidite. That is why they allowed Mopar to put thier front stub on the metric frame.

Key word Mopar!

But thats not how it is written and thats what opens it up to individual interpertation.

didnt mike sonderman pass several years ago? the claim rule is a great equalizer for certain drivers that would take you out and the officials turn a blind eye.for instance several years ago dean hoffman took out a modified and of course the officials didnt see it.the guys owner was going to claim him the next week or so and he knew it.but didnt win a feature after it happened before anyone says it didnt happen it did at belleville.several years ago at godfrey john seets took out jimmy bell and bell claimed him.

The metric rails must be functional not just hanging there. Trailing arms, upper and lower, must be mounted in stock holes on stock frame in stock location. The notion of taking a stub car and scabbing some rails on it won't fly.

i think this rule needs to be thrown out. obviously if you can put any kind of stub on any kind of frame, then the side rails can be whatever you want and you can mount your trailing arms where ever you want also. if you can now legally move your front stub around or change it you can also move stuff around on the rear stub.

i have been talking to a few other racers about this, and we decided that Highlands rules actually make more sense than allieds. highland eliminated stub cars from being legal there, but the one or two cars that raced there are grandfathered in. why didnt allied just grandfather in the few camaro or nova stub cars that were out there and say no more?? this opened a can of worms.

re;stub cars

ONCE AND FOR ALL,90% OF TRACKS (or more)THAT RUN SPORTSMAN CARS ALLOW STUB CARS WITH A FABRACATED FRAME IN THE REAR.IT MAKE NO SENSE TO LET A CAMARO STUB BE USED AND HAVE THE REAR PICK UP POINTS IN THE STOCK LOCATION WHEN STACK LEAF SPRINGS ARE ALSO ALLOWED..SO IF I WANT TO "SCAB"METRIC RAILS ON MY CAR IN A PRESENTABLE AND SAFE MANNOR,I SURE WOULD LIKE ONE OF YOU ROCKET ENGINEERS TO TELL ME WHY I CANT..LENNY G. HERE,AND I REALLY HOPE I MAKE SOME ONE MAD..

Oh,ya,i been wanting to run "whitey" #1 car at b-vill and i-55 with the fine groupe that runs there every week, may just get my chance now...

The rules are perfect the way they have been,

I havent seen any new rules for this year but the rules as they were you had the option of using a full frame car or using a stub car with dummy rails on leaf springs.

No Pony car stubs were allowed period.

you guys that want to run in a Sportsmen class but whine about not being able to have all the trick componets of an outlaw class are just killing the competitivness of the Sportman class.

The choice is simple, build an outlaw car and run the outlaw tracks and take what you can get, or build an Allied legal car and have the results be based on your own skills and ability and not on how much money you can afford to throw at all the trick componets.

Fireball:

If you want to run "whitey" at I-55 or B-ville its a pretty simple deal, just make it legal and run it.

What is a "pony car stub"?

Then why don't you "few racers" go race highland. problem solved. Everyone else gripping about allied rules go race somewhere else that is not allied. thier are plenty of tracks in the st.louis area to race at with differant rules.

That didnt stop Jimmy Cummins,ToyMedley or Jeff Herzog from running at Highland.

Why does Allied have to change there rules for other tracks. Allied sportman is the best thing going at the race track. Why dont they change there rules to Allied rules.
