Question the outcome of the rules meeting for pevely

So can I take a stub car like they ran at Godfrey a few years ago and drop a allied motor into it?

Need to quit looking at "word Camaro has been omited" and read ALL of the rules pertaining to the chassis or you may wind up with an illegal, expensive, waste of time.

20 Rocks. If you are referring to Gary Haynes who won the Nationals. I believe he is an Excavator, not a Fabricator.

Also, the man drove a helluva race at the nationals, you need to get off him. I do not think they changed the rule for him, as he is not planning on running many..... if any Allied races next year from what I understand.

And to say that Impressive/Donnie Jumper is building a illegal/cheated up state of the art sportsman race car is just wrong. Stop by there and look at what they are building b4 you slam him on the internet. And I think for about $2500 you could have him build you one also.

Tell him Range sent ya.

What Jumper has been building has been working just fine and is probably a much better car than a pieced together Camaro!

You had guys screaming about a LEGAL car at the Fall Nationals. Boy you will really have some whinning when they see and don't understand the stuff a creative fabricator comes up with. ;)

For the record none of my crew screamed about the car being suspect, rather we were screaming congrats on a job well done!

i didnt scream i just asked i just know what i saw with my own eyes that is exactally why i am going to put in my application for a tech position

It sounds to me like the crank issue is being avoided by the officials by creating a claim rule which forces the drivers to police themselves. All this is going to do is create fights and disputes among the drivers. A driver would be crazy to give up his crank for $400 when it's going to cost him way more to buy a new and have it balanced and put in, not to mention the time missed by doing so.
With the claim in effect the legality of the part in question is still never answered. So in turn a guy with a standard weight crankshaft will get his car tore down at the track and handed $400, but it's still not addressing the issue of the crank it's just giving a driver playing by the rules an incentative to go after someone the next week, given he comes up with more money and gets his motor back together in time.
To me a protest just makes more sense, if someone wants to check the legality of a part they should be able to put up money to see that part. If it's legal (whatever that means and however they have to do it) then the driver in question keeps his part, points and money from the night and protest money. If it's illegal Allied takes the part and disciplines the driver and the protester gets his money back. To me that sounds like an easier thing to do and eliminates illegal parts, with the claim the potentially illegal parts are still there.
Does Allied have a tech person for next year? I would think that would be the place to start.
JMO I'm just a fan on the outside that enjoys a good night of racing.

grange

I was asking a question.I sat next to Gary at tri city at one of the big shows he told me he welds for impressive.I was asking where the stub car idea came from was it a chassis builder like impressive.if you get something like this approved alot of people will be in line for new cars.this was not a knock against impressive or gary haynes.

What's wrong with just running the Fall National rules all year?Forget about the cranks,I mean the guyswith more cash are gona have the best of stuff avalable anyway...So what thats how it is so deal with it.Expensive parts brake too,ya know.I personaly I think all the tracks should just run those rules, they work year after year at I55so y-not keep it simple?

hey, if i can get 4 or 5 cars to show up opening night at belleville with 4 barrels on will you just change the rules and let us run them or send us home?
