such a tragedy. Just a couple weeks ago we were sitting right there in turn 4 about on row 3 or 4.. How did he (15b) flip into the stands? something maybe break or just hit a bad rut. Just curious.. thoughts and prayers to all who was involved.

I always wondered if something like that may happen at either there or at Belleville where the fans are so close to the track. Sure its great to be that close to the action. but in that one split second something like this happens.
 
fast frankie the car did not flip they think his steering broke or something and he was coming into turn 4 and couldnt turn and went straight thru the fence and in to the stands.he was going pretty fast when he went thru the fence and it was a real terrible tradegy but i cant say what happened because i was there and seen it but i wasnt sitting right there. someone will (im sure) get on here and let everyone know what is going on and how the others doing and their conditions. i send prayer out to all families that were involoved.
 
Awful news

Hey all this is jsut awful. Hopes and prayers to all. Rumor has it like i said rumor is that his throttle stuck. This is what i heard not set in stone.
 
Yes this it true until they do an inquest no one will ever know. I heard my info from a family member that was there but like it was said no one will know till then.

Wow is all I can say. I just heard there was an accident at Mt vernon on Channel 2 news (they didn't know details; crew is still on way there) and knew I would be able to find out what happened on here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those involved! What a terrible tragedy. It definately reminds us of how short life can be and how suddenly it can end.

The word up at Highland is that 3 people were killed and 15 severely injured. pics on channel 5 news now
 
We pulled out 3 in very bad shape. One gone for sure!! The other 2 tore up very bad. and stretched out . The driver In my opinion was having a nervis break down. One on the ground trying to crall finaly passed out. These were all men. They say there was a girl also.But' was their and did not see her. 15b late mod. during qualifieing.come out of turn four looked like somthing broke.Came wide open ramped the wall sheard the pole and thru the fence landed mid way up the bleachers on top of the cround. Most pit crews and family!! The law would not let us move the car.taped it off for investigation!!
 
Thoughts and prayers to all involved. Victims, families and especially the driver. It will be a long time to get over that, if ever.

ive been to mt. vernon always needed safety improvements a car shouldnt be able to drive through the wall and into the stands, their gonna get ther butt sued off so bad,mt. vernon is done boys
 
That's a nice thing to say at such a time...it may be true, I don't know, but that doesn't show alot of class:mad:

I first heard about it on KSDK and saw the picture. That is a horrible thing to happen.

like a pimp, thats not cool to get on here and start saying stuff like that. I dont care how safe a racing facility is, freak stuff like that can happen. Many people are affected by this and I dont think now is the time to be placing the blame on anyone or anything related to this tragedy. :(
