Best Track Around

I like to say thank you for giving us a excellent track to race week after week. Keep up the good job.

What?

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! I SAID IT WAS DECIDED BY THE DRIVERS AT A DRIVERS MEETING TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE TRACK NOT OUR POCKETS! I SAID THE TRACK-DRIVERS DESCISION. LET ME ASK THIS, IF KART COUNT ISN'T ENOUGH AND WE STILL RACE, WHERE DO YOU THINK THE $$ COMES FROM? I AM TRYING TO BE NICE HERE. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THIS THEN MY NUMBER IS ABOVE. YOU PUT TOGETHER SOME FIRURES FOR A BUDGET AND CALL ME. THEN NEXT YEAR YOU INVEST YOUR TIME, PERSONAL $$, YOUR TRUCK, YOUR LAWN MOWER, 3 - 4 DAYS A WEEK. AND GIVE UP EVERY SAT. AFTERNOON AND NIGHT.. FOR THIS. OUR KART COUNT IS NOT THE SAME AS OTHER TRACKS. HAVE YOU SEEN ANYONE RETIRE FROM RUNNING A TRACK AND MOVE TO FLORDIA? THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENTS FOR THOES WHO ARE GIVING THEM.:D YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!;) ;)
BOTTOM LINE--MY PARENTS AND THEIR FRIEND ARE RUNNING THE TRACK AND I WILL NOT LET YOU SLAM WHAT OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WORK SO HARD AT. PLEASE STOP.

Enough of this bickering,OK?

Junkyard, As you may see,I'm not alone by questioning this policy.JYI's best selling point to us racers is :80% payback-all classes!! Which is conciderably better than our other option.Agree?? Here is the rub: For me,choose between driving an hour each way ($30) for gas or drive 8 min. through down town (gas gauge doesn't move) SWEET!! Now the gas money saved will pay my entry fee,who cares if we win anything,I'm even. But the thrill of racing on a fast, banked track, great facility, country style is inviting. That's were the prize $ becomes the issue.80% is great, worth the expence,if it's done right.OK? This vote by the drivers is doughtful, none of them would agree to that.Just ask them here, they'll let us know.If JYI is haveing cash flow problems, concider this:70% payback if kart count is below a certain #.Overall kart racers are pretty flexable as long as they are informed, and allowed to have a voice in making some tough decisions.
Notice no bashing,just conversation.:D

Back to school

It took a few trys, but the difference comes out to 22% That doesn't sound like much.So look at it as 58% payout, quite a drop.lol

i refine

 i refine and all others that complain, i am the head scorer at JYI and i do respect your oppions and what you think. But i do want you to know that every one is not perfect and we all make mistakes we are all humanbeings right? and i may not always make the right call either. but from what i seen sat night there was a horrible call made and if that happened to you, you would be mad too.no matter what we do we are not going to be able to satisfy evryone there will still be that one person that is going to b****.BUt all i want you to do is to realize how much work all of us put into that races on saturday nights, and most people do realize that i do apperaciate that but for the ones that dont we work our butts off to make it fun and enjoyable for all of you. what track around here has pork steaks?clean bathrooms?nobody realiazes just the little things like that i go to sams almost every week with joann to get stuff for the consession stand, and i work from 5:30 till 4 on saturdays and i am still out there at 4:30 for that races to score.I think we have a great track and it has alot of potential and i love to go out there every week and score and i know there are many other people who love to go out there to . but i guess we will always have someone to b**** about something and it will never change, this is suposto be FUN.
just my oppion!!

Since everyone is reading this thread............

I have a suggestion; Why not take $ 5.00 or $ 10.00 from each class of entrys and Dropouts and put toward a end of year point fund. I'm talking about all tracks. I think it would keep some drivers coming back every week to make some extra money at the end of the year. Maybe also; sell 50/50 tickets for prizes instead of cash. Racing tee****s, hats, diecast cars, an entry fee for 1 night of racing, or even a hamburger and coke. Might sell more tickets. Just a suggestion

all of this could have been avoided if the pay out was known up front instead
of at the payout. i dont think doug would have asked the question if he knew.
i dont remember anybody in this post that said anything bad about jyi ,but when people jump in and tell how hard they worked all week long at the track
well that wasnt the question asked. when you find out the payout is not as posted people will think they got screwd because they are from a different track.

done

i refine-Doug would have made $5.00 extra 4th place, 3rd place would have made $2.00 more. When you asked to see my payout sheet, i said no problem. Why couldn't we have discussed this then instead of smiling and walking away then giving JYI a thumbs down? My personal email is on our web site and I haven't heard my cell ring yet. That would have been the proper way to handle this. Didn't you complained about this last year?

Why don't we give the volunteers some gas money? I drive from Belleville. Not all the people that help out live in Coulterville.
If we did decrease the payout who would still come?

i do know how hard you guys bust you're butts. i raced there 2 years, and then worked there 4 years. it takes dedication and the love of racing to do it every week after week. some nights are awesome, and some are hell night! just use this as a learning experience, cause whats done is done. if someone pays their entry and runs at least 1 hotlap they are entered in the race and the payout! i have never heard anyone getting their money back, (or go to the track)after being on the track. everybody has different rules as for as that goes, but if that is the way you guys do it now you have to let the drivers know. the most important thing is consistency. if you,re not consistent you will piss a hole lot of people off. i know if you would have paid out a 9 kart class doug would have only gotten $5 or $10 dollars ,but believe it or not that makes any racer happy just like you giving the rookies or juniors out of you're pocket. jyi will always have the best facility around here, and some the most dedicated and caring people working there. in my opinion this was a bad call, but you guys run the place and what you say goes. trust me this won't be the last time you have problems like this(it's a neverending thing),and its all part of the job,(thats why i am no longer doing it)!!! there is no way to make everyone happy.

I agree with what you are saying, but all i know is this is how its always been done and he knew that. Period. That's it. This is my first season so I am new to it and i think things could have been handled differently. Face to face. The thumbs down was a BIG stab in my back, Your correct about not making everyone happy and I understand why you aren't doing it anymore.

it has not always been that way, but that is up to you guys. and get used to this stuff it will happen every week or every other week. i was in the same shoes you are in except it didn' involve family, which makes it even worse.

korey99

Thank you for your comment, hopefully its put to rest now. I can be a little defensive...A HARD HABIT TO BREAK.:)

Start Over

Junkyard, First things first,I NEVER got near the payout, that wasn't me!!I was at my trailer, there's where the problem was detected. You also forgot to tell everyone that 2nd place difference came to $13.I'm not aware of any horrible call that was made.I think Rick does a great job of flagging for JYI,totally fair. And he had his hands full with our feature to say the least.Thank you for the restitution in my mail box from all of us.We came to race, and have fun, which we did.As a group we behave ourselves, and race CLEAN.We picked up before we left.No one saw any of us intentionally try to take somebody out!! That's a different subject we'll drop right now,OK?
So now after the smoke clears,I'm believing that the welcome matt is no longer out for this trouble maker.I'm truly sorry this ever started. But like Tom said if I'd have been told a head of time, there'd never been a thing said.
Over and Out

The extra money was paid by me. I asked those involved to let me try and find out why this problem was happening. I tried to call, and I pm-ed you, but you did not respond. I was tired of some one taking the heat for things that may or may not have been thier fault. The money came out of my own pocket, so please can we drop this topic, and go back to racing.

The welcome mat is out for everyone who wants to race, no one wants to chase away racers.

Thank you

Rick, Check your PM's,I sent you one Mon. You didn't have to put those envelopes in my mail box,it's not you responsebility.I've put them aside and will return them to you. Thanks anyway:D Good luck to all Sat.night.
JYI should be proud to have RacerRik as a member of there staff.A person who cares about the track and looks out for us racers!!:D
