So Sad!

O.K. Here I Go ...... DRR vs The Rock ???????????????

IF No One wants " The Battle " of DRR VS The ROCK , this is NOT the way to do it ! Intentialy taking a class of cars from a track that is running that night. Martha and I have discussed this many times when Jeff would stir up dust to make it a battle ( YES, Jeff could be a **** disturber :) I thought the track wanted to avoid that situation but i guess not. Im kinda disappointed ! LeaDonna

UPDATE : I was just informed that this is invitation only and is just a few drivers that want to put on an expedition and run their cars. IT IS NOT TO TAKE ANY CARS FROM THE ROCK !!!!
Well from the looks of things it doesn't seem that I would be hurting anything by telling u guys that Fri Aug 31 Doe Run will be running the B Mods and Fri Sep 7 they are going to run Pure Streets....we hope to see you guys there!!!!!!

The B-mods are MCS rules .Some of the guys from up north wanted to try out the track and put on a show for the fans. I was approached by 6 or 8 pure streets that do not run the Rock and they also wanted to put on a show at DRR. These shows are in no way trying to have a pissing match with the Rock. I am the one that has done ALL the talking and begging Bob to allow ME to have the 2 shows at DRR. These shows are an exhibition show and we already have enough cars for the show. If this works out we will have more shows in 2009. I personnally am trying to have a track that races under MCS B-mod rules to save me from driving 130 miles.............And I also wish the very best for the Rock the rest of this season and in 2009. Curley and the rest of the crew have done some amazing improvements down south...........

Sorry everyone. This message WAS / IS NOT intended to stir a battle. I am VERY SORRY if it appeared that way.

A little clarification... This IS EXHIBITION ONLY. There are some guys (not from FredRock) who have made the statement that they would like to try out Doe Run's Facility one night, so we gave an open invitation. We are not trying to take anything away from The Rock.

I continuously read this forum as I do alot of other forums on here as well, and I've heard the talk...."The Rock is having a rough time right now". It is VERY tough to get a facility back up on its feet. I wanted to make it down this year to check out the new Rock, but so far, have been unable to make it.
I don't know your officials, owners, etc..., but I commend them for trying to bring the Rock back to life. Every track has its glitches and bugs that need worked out. Personally, (my own opinion) I think they will, in time, get it all lined out. They have done great things compared to the old Rock. The pictures I've seen are amazing.

Again, please understand, the above post is just an open invitation for an Exhibition. We meant no harm.

To the owners, officials, drivers, etc... We wish you all the best of luck. - Mike Helvey

sorry......

Dang sorry guys didn't mean to get everyones panties in a bind...LOL jk That statement not meant for Kenny cause I know your thong is always up there anyway.LOL:eek: Anyway sorry bout my last post I wasn't trying to take anything away from the rock and I didn't know that it was just a exhibition. I apologize!!!!!

Thanks

I for one, appreciate that being cleared up because like i said... There is enough going on now for something else to cause problems . LD :)

Wow......................

im really surprised that a few people asking for a few answers gets a nasty comeback from the owner of the track, that was just pulled out of the gutter, by these same people who are asking for a few answers. since there is NO ONE in charge, where are these peolpe to go for the answers? wow..crazy. dont like it dont show up? doesnt anyone wanna just have fun? racers race for the fun. unfortunately, this kind of fun costs money. so, yea its fun but if ya dont know if the money is there, then why show up? now, if the dont like it dont show up statement was made for the drivers or the fans, well maybe they should take your expert advise and call it a season since your only running a few more weeks anyway. why should they waste their money at a place that could care less. but, if that statement was made to tony, well ive seen tony pick the ball up and run with it many times to better the ROCK. he did his job well and took on other rolls when others wouldnt do their job. what a fool you are turning your back on a man that did nothing but tried to better the bad situations that have came to the track. as a matter of fact, you had one hell of a crew, doing everything they could to better "you'r" track. crystal.... wonderful job. everything she did was to better this facility. to my fellow flagmen. terrific crew. again, more people that busted theirs to make the rock better. we also had the balls to stand behind any call that we made. terry flanagan stood behind the call i made against a latemodel. come to find out, that drivers father works ( well, not works but gets in free and, well i guess thats it)at the track and wanted my call reversed. well, terry would not reverse it and we all know where terry hasnt been the last few weeks. kudos to terry. thanx for standing up for the crew you hired. and last but not least, all the crap that has been shoveled by the self appointed PR person, the owners, and all the wanna-be chiefs that do nothing, has left a bad taste in my mouth towards the ROCK. so in closing, i resign my post at the rock. normally, i would try to give some kind of notice as to leaving, but my job is easily filled. let one of the CHIEFS take it, make the calls and pow wow with the other chiefs, and reverse it, and so on, and so on. it was a pleasure working with some of you and im sure i will see you all soon. best of luck to the ROCK in 2008. greg skaggs

No your wrong, not everyone is easily replaced. I know that for a fact. Cystal was gone one weekend and it was total KAOS. Not downing Tracey she did a superb job to have o do the position by herself. Infact I wanna apologize o her, cause I know she took i wrong the last time I commented towards her. It was to let them, the owners know they messed up by choosing a drivers dad oer thier management. We all worked as a team and things were sarting to come around when this one call was made and wasnt reversed for the sake of Mr, Parsons. Not bashing him either, he has done a great job and continues to do so, but when the races are on he isnt to be involed in the way that he thought he was to be. I know its fustrating when your son gets ejected for two weeks, but rules are rules. But know since there is no manager i guess most the rules are gone. Cause the last time we raced people were hit, shirts ripped off, threats were made and even little girls yanked aound. Nothing against any of these drivers, cause tempers do flare when cars are half destroyed. But still there should be consequences for these actions to prevent them from happening in the future. All I tried to do was answer questions for some of the fans, drivers, officials and most of all the sponsors that we truly need. I never said I didnt like the track, it to me produces some of the best racing in the area. I appologize this is so long but I am hurt not mad. I lose three hours pay every Friday and drive over 100 miles one way,(NOT WANTING TO WHINE HERE)to help make this a fun place to race for the drivers, for a good show for the fans, and because I helped this track before the first reopening. I have a great repore with the officials I work with, the fans in the stands and with most drivers. Crystal and I have become a great team in the tower and have done everything we could, only to come on a friday and have eerything reversed by the owners and our new PR/somewhat manager/pit attendant/consessionist/tower adviser. Who knows she may even be part owner by now. And as you all see here the answers ive been gettig all along, If you dont like it dont come. Thats what our new PR person has even told me about the B-MODS. And for the DRR people theyre planning on takingyour multis anyway so dont apologize cause there not going to. And Greg Im with you on the resigning part. Like the old saying goes, (you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink, or you cant teach aan old dog new tricks) And as for you drivers Good luck. Im sure they could probably even get the moolah shrine clowns to put on a show just for donations, might even get some circus tickets handed out to the crowd. In fact Im suprised people are digging up there yards to make a track of their own. Shoot drivers pay they're own purse what a living, build a few extra stands that seat up to six hundred people then you got 6000 dollars a week. Curley and Anne You all should've rented the track to me when i offered. Good luck to you all and hope things get smoother.

"intentionally taking a class of cars that is running that night..."
i heard the rumors and now i saw that toneyp39 ??? has said it too.
the do run track is the bad guy for an exibiton show but you plan to have multis there next year. this is rediculus

Lord .............

No disrespect to Tony but he is NOT the owner of the track. He was just an employee. He will not be deciding on what classes to run next season that would be strickly up to Curley and Anne themselves. I dont know everything and i am NOT speaking for the track but " why add another class of car " ? They have enough classes already. ( this is just my opinion and i have not talked to any of these people so i dont know WHAT is on their minds) LD

Your right Im not the owner or the manager, but i was admist all the conversations of how there will be no A-Mods next year, and that they were gonna try to have multis. Im not trying to stir things up, just giving all the fans drivers and sponsors some more answers. I still dont see any of the answers to the questions asked. And its not sad no more its a shame. You all are seeing first hand how some of the officials are being treated and last week the drivers were treated. Whose next the fans, well behind there back they already have, Oh well im not the owner, may be that will be changed next week. Even the B-Mods were put down cause a few werent gonna be there cause of the bad things that happen last week. I really am not bashing here just giving you all a heads up wether to keep building cars for the rock or not. I truly hope they work passed this and continue Racing. I think it would be nice to be a spectator at the rock. Im sure curley and Anne will get through all this and will continue the tradition at the Rock. They really are great people and are trying to make it worth everyones while to attend. I have no hard feeeling towards them they are new at this and it does take awhile to get into the right rythem. Once they have everyone in the right place it will be a great track to attend the races reguarly on a friday night.

Why would I want to walk in your shoes?? Mine fit just fine....

Just so you know...I have a B.B.A. in Business Administration and Management. Those questions I asked are simple questions that if answered could provide a blue print for success at the Rock! How much more positive could one get? I take time to read these post and communicate via the net with you folks because I care...I'm not here to bash or put down anyone and my goal is not to be negative. Constructive criticism is sometimes taken the wrong way.

Look answer those questions and you may just find that 2008 could be a record year for the Rock!!

1. Is anyone getting paid for there points?
2. What will the track do to ensure that this does not take place next year?
3. Who is in charge...Who is the head hanchoe? Where does the buck stop?
4. Where is the sponsorship program...IE...signs, race sponsors.
5. How much $ did the track make this year and how much did it cost to operate for the season? If the track is in the red...then what will it take to change this next year?
Sorry i couldnt help you out more, but i tried to communicate with the owners on more than one occasion. I figured the one who started this post which is the pr person couldve at least came up with the answers by now, she told me she could stop curley in his tracks and get him to listen. Well listening and making it happen is two different actions by the way. Im sure the answers will get to you soon. if not i appologize. I know now what Terry went through and do believe what he says when he said all they did was listen. But i am sure they will get this worked out. Like i said in a previous post you take the good and the bad mix it up and wow its better.

That message was intended for Tony Penberthy.
Anne i do wish you and curley lots of luck, I know sometimes constructive criticism is hard to take sometimes, but really you all need to relax, read all post not just these on the so sad one but all them. Take it all in carefully fix thes problems and take some not all the advice from all you ex EMPLOYEES and your future ones, listen to some your drivers and fans and it will be alright. I assure you. You are great peolple and have a great race track. The fans base is awesome and the drivers will show up with the right respect. love youns have a great rest of the year and will be the to watch some great racing next year.

Believe nothing you here anhalf of what you see!

The sad part is the people that came on their own time and their own expense on weekends and weekdays to see this place get completed have been booted to the curb. Like thanks for the help see ya..
Yea we lost Millsey with the vision. And the knowledge to get sponsors and monies. But he isn't here anymore and this can not be an excuse anymore either. Get out and get some advertisement that will bring in money as well. I learned along time ago that money just d/n come to you  I see everyone making efforts to keep this place open. Only to be slammed in the process. Tony I know the efforts you have made can't believe you have been spoken to in that manner on the forumn and still be respectful in the end. Most of everyone that got this place going is now gone.. I guess the passion has left the building as well.. :( I am glad my friend is now done with this place ( in the rude and non professional way things have been handled ) because I hate to see people - drivers - and friends yanked around like this. It's a damn shame.. :( And a sad day indeed ....

You know last week my daughter and I went out to get sponsorship for her ad book and she sold 300.00 from 1-5 on a Tuesday. A 11 year old did this. Make an ad book sell them each week with the drivers pictures. They are cheap enough and the print never changes unless you get more sponsors. Throw in a points sheet each week cheap enough.

Hey dirtgirl,

This is a really good idea. This would provide the drivers and the fans a cool way to have some memories. Not to mention the advertising that would take place when they are showing the book or magazine to their friends.
I guess the driver's pictures could be taken over the winter....Or maybe even at the beginning of next season.
So how much would it cost to print a magazine that is good quality?
And how many pages would you think would make a good one.

We could name it "THE ROCK". Or maybe something else...hehe I don't know just getting excited about your idea.
