Teching of the #8 @ MCS 8-20

"pwracing, who's race program is Cruise helping?"

Marty Boyer 52 RAMS

I knew Garey helped several out last year , but it is news to me that he is even helping anyone this year. Garey has been remodling his house and garage.

It's Not only in "Small Time" dirt racing where some might find tech men questionable.
This year at the Tulsa Shootout the tech man for the Multis just happened to be the father of one of the big gun drivers in the class. Im sure the guy was selected due to the fact that he was a well known engine builder that has been in the business a long time as well as been around the block a time or two. But would you want a total idiot or someones "Granny" doing this job??? The guy that fills that position should know his stuff, and If you find that guy he is very likely to have many connections in racing and to drivers. That doesnt mean the guy will cheat for his buds or family. Just like some of the others posted in here, I say it pays to know for yourself what your looking at so you dont walk away thinking the tech man pulled a fast one. So sit in on a tear down along side the (CHEATING) ~ lol~ tech man. These guys put up with a bunch of mouth to volunteer time to the sport.

you wouldn't believe

he has built us 5 but they didn't run tooo well. he has at this time built us two for the mini stock my daughter will be running next year. and he and many other track officals hear and other tracks will be building our car next year.I am getting it done real cheap I think they might like me.OUR intentions are to go out there and let my 15 year old daughter show shannon and wolf and marty just how well a female can drive. no none of them have said a word about it.I think being the sports they are. would welcome her or anyother new driver with open arms and hearts as long as they show them the respect they deserve. I have to agree track officals put up with a bunch of crap all the time. unless you are in the position you don't know.no matter what you do someone isnt happy with something you have or haven't done. and you know what they are only humans they are gonna make mistakes some times but it is racing not a life or death situation so mellow out.JUST MY OPINION.

The way I see the issue of tearing people down, it shouldn't be done unless someone laps the whole field every race. i also think there is another way to look at it. there are a lot of guys in the mini stock class that are pushing the rules. i have seen people put headers on s-10's, heard of people running rods, and other stuff from bigger motors, fords and chevy's, which usually those guys are the ones that win every weekend, making it harder for the guys that are just starting out, or wanting to be 100% sure they are legal, to even keep up. s-10s were never made with headers, and i'm sure that the fords weren't either. the way i see it, everyone should have their 4 cylinders to the perspectives that they were made, and racing would be funner.

push the rules?????

headers did come factory on the ford 2300(ranger) as for as "hearing" what people are doing to their vehicles.i have people come up to me every weekend to tell me how people are cheating.you get tired of it,so i told one of these people that i was cheating, told them what i had.well they went and told the guy that they said was cheating that i was cheating.the next week money was collected to tear me down, they backed out cause i finished 2nd(i had a flat).i found that take what people tell you and toss it into the dumpster,or it will cause alot of friction between people.i know a few guys at mcs started not likeing me,i find out that they "heard" i was cheating and didn't like it.well i got tore down and found legal ,are they still pissed at me or the one that said i was illegal.they still are pissed at me :D ,cause now i proved them wrong.to be accused of cheating just suxs, and as for the ones winning every week running bigger rods, and such, well i proved that is not the case either-give me a junk motor and my car will still be a good runner.COMPARE HANDLING OF THE TOP3 CARS TO THE MID PACKERS,IT IS NOT THE HORSEPOWER WINNING THE RACES

This is Missouri, you're gonna have to SHOW ME! Put that junker clunker in that bad boy and come out and whoop up on everybody. I would just about pay double to see that happen, if it is really possible. PS there is a difference between MCS rules and DRR rules and it don't sound like you have to spend as much to protest someone at MCS like you do at DRR. $200.00 per item is ridiculous at DRR. And by item I mean each thing you want to see like pocket porting, rocker arms, or what have you, It all costs you $200.00 per item. There is a rule change that needs to be looked into. If you want to protest somebody's cyl. head and do a thorough job it could cost you more money than some people have in their whole car. That is simply stupid. But I am glad you got tore down and found legal at MCS, now you can cluck alot louder than ever before!!!

well last year I ran the twin to shannon's car(#75) with a stock 2300 out of a 89 mustang(after I crap caned the 86 mustang motor in it) we never got the car to handle just right but it would finish 5 or 6 every night only thing special on it was factory roller cam on a slick night (track was little to muddy) I stayed ahead of wolf..... jpr (#16) was only one that got around me got the tape to prove it( every dog has his day) and motor in the garage for you to look at...and it could turn 6800 all night .....if I could have brought it out to doe run(didn't meet rules) I think it would have done better than at frederick town.... car is gone now so i'll never know...
lets face a fact here if you take a s-10 and a pinto make them weight the same amount allow NO modifications to the motor.....
which one would win more?
which one would turn more RPM's

we all need to look at it this way the pinto, mustangII,mustang and the 2300 are the "cookie cutter's" of ministocks

just like a chevy is in purestreet prostocks and modifies

they are the cheepest quickest easiest cars to get more bang for there buck.... but there are faster cars out there they just cost $$$$ to build...

I don't beleive I directed any questions your way Smurf! I don't care what you've done in the past. Nothing in my statement required a response from you with the exception of the rule change on protest money. I don't make posts on here to give you an opportunity to go and blow about yourself. If you want to sell your junk yard Ford parts on here, attach your bullsh*t to some body else's post and stay out of my business!

well If I came of bragging about myself I wasn't I was referring to your part of the post that you didn't think it was possible for a stock motor to win or do good and why I use my example is I knew excatly what was in that car and motor... and I didn't see where I was trying to sell my "junkyard ford parts on here" I was actullay trying to back up what shannon was saying....

shannon knows what he is talking about his first season they ran a okay car next year he tried a s-10 (5 motors later ) then he tried a pinto and found out it was cheeper to run and lots less work(motor wise)

He made the post and I responded, it has nothing to do with you. And once again you are throwing your two cents in on this and making a plug for your stuff. Also if it took them 5 motors, somebody wasn't doing something right!

Well of course a stock 2300 will turn more RPMs than a stock 2.5. But it's 2 different motors with 2 different RPM ranges. RPM's do not tell it all and turning more RPM's don't necessarily get you a win.

And a stock 2.5 against a stock 2.3 isn't going to result in a bunch of 2.3 wins. I bet you'd be suprised by the results.. You turn your stock 2.3 6800 RPMs and I'll turn my stock 2.5 5800 RPM's and we'll be wheel to wheel if I'm not already in front of you. :D :D But you still got to handle and know how to drive too.

This is like old times Smurf :D :D

there would be alot of blue paint swapping huh bill:):)yes it would be close bill but think the ol blue ford power would prevale:) handling??? who put that wall there!!!!
