thanks Allied

just a question??? are the pure stocks going to be last all year? they are ump now right? correct me if im wrong, but i dont see it being fair that when time is cut short that they get the shaft all of the time!

Fun...

Fun races last night, really. However, I agree with Kreke13, obviously there was a need for a dash and semi for late models, but by the sportsman and pure stock semi's I was trying to stay awake. There should maybe only be a semi when one is really needed.

Just my opinion, but overall, I thought the night was a lot of fun.

I was wondering the same about that too. Sportsman's havent been added to the rotation at all this year either. We've ran 3rd all 3 weeks and didnt know the reasoning for it. I assumed that when they sanctioned all 4 classes that meant everyone would be rotated like the 3 were last year.

Jody, don't get me wrong, I like all classes, but we drove just over an hr. to watch lms. & mods. on Sun. night. I know thats not to far but we get up really early on mon. morn. for work. You do have a lagit point though, as ump is ump & you should get your time to shine, That 35 car did last night. Congrats

And she sat in the stands all night with 2 kids to have her husband's feature canceled. Many people go to watch Sportman's & Pure Stocks as well.

My Thoughts on the night:
1) Great track-especially considering the weather
2) Great racing- the stand out races were the Pure stock dash and modified feature. Wow that Showstopper!

My suggestions:
1) Open the pit gates an hour earlier. The trailers are backing up onto the main drag. Someone is going to take issue with this if it is not fixed!
2) On Sunday nights eliminate the dashes and pill draw for feature start spots. I dont think it will take away from the night. JMO

Mr. Kreke, in my opinion the dash race itself isn't much the time problem. I think the pill draw itself takes up as much time. Jack's suggestion would be to have the very very nice pit steward(Derek I believe is his name) in the outer pits, handle the pill draw. The racers are sitting there waiting to come in anyway. It takes at least five minutes per dash to do the pill draw on the front stretch. If this is eliminated, that would be 20 minutes freed up. The pure stockers could just draw at the judges stand sometime before their dash.

btw..... How about that SHOWSTOPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!

the whole point of the pill draw is to get the fans involved.if you dont do it in front of them then dont do it at all.

Believe me, WE Noticed & I said, DON'T get me wrong.. That,s was meant for Tom's girl. I'm sure them kid's were thrilled.... Tell Tom's girl that the rollbar tubing that I drove over to get in the winter worked out well.... By the way, Tom looked good to for giving it up for a while. Enclosed trailer an all.;)

I think if you understood Passing Points and the benefits they offer the driver, expecially on a track like Belleville, you may change your mind.

My husband won his heat and didnt transfer to the feature due to passing points a few years back. Had to run a semi after winning his heat. I know he isnt a fan of them either. Starting earlier would solve the problems with the time issues.

Luckybuc97- I'm glad everything worked out for you. Thanks for the compliments about Tommy. He is starting to get the feel for the new car. Cant wait to try it out at I-55 this weekend.

the only way that could happen is that people behind him was racing harder than he was

Dont have to race to hard when you are winning the race...that kind of leaves no one else to pass, correct?

You were making it sound as if it was this great thing for everyone. That was not the only time I had seen someone get the shaft due to passing points. I know plenty of DRIVERS that are not for the passing points system. Bringing to Belle-Clair isnt going to solve the time problem. It can be nice @ I-55 since there is plenty of room for passing others.

The Time Deal Might Not Be An Issue When Other Tracks Are Up And Running. They Will Not Be Getting That Many Cars Everytime.

Well since you have decided to bring up the passing points in the way that you have i will give you my thoughts on it. When you made the comment to saleracing35 stating " I think if you understood passing points and the benefits, blah blah blah".......then you must not know that he has been racing for 10 years and been around it his whole life. I think he understands what the passing points is all about.

With Belleville being as small as it is, passing points would be terrible in my eyes. Yeah Pevely isn't too bad because of the size. More room to race equals more room to pass in return equals not bad for passing points. I love racing at Belleville and i love racing at Pevely but Belleville needs to just stick with the way they are currently running the program. Passing points wouldn't improve the night at all. You will get the DRIVERS that like passing points and the ones that don't. Some look at it differently than others.

Either way the racers are giving it there all no matter what, passing points or not. You have a bad pill draw and start in the back and race your way to 2nd or third then you have had a great run and will be in the dash depending on the number of heats. Now say you have a night when a bunch of really fast guys start in the back and all race up to the front (doing passing points). Is it fair that you don't make the dash because you start on the outside and he started on the inside but you missed the dash by one spot even though you both started on the same row? That in my eyes isn't fair. You both started on the same row and both had to go through the field but b/c one guy started on the outside and one started on the inside makes it pretty unfair.

Yes i know that some may disagree with me and some will agree. Everyone has there own opinions on different things and that is why i am voicing my opinion. It isn't a perfect world and you can't make everyone happy. So all in all i say Belleville runs it's show just fine the way it is and the same for Pevely. Good Luck to all this weekend.

Glad to hear that the tubing worked good for you......Man that taking a year off went really quick too...:D ....Almost seemed like i didn't even miss a night:D :D

I disagree Tom with your whole analogy.

1. I think passing points would be better for the driver at a track like Belleville than a bigger track such as Pevely. I say that because on a bigger, wider track you would have the guys with the bigger motors more able to amass more passing points, whereas on a smaller, tighter track the advantage of a big motor is lessened because its more about driving than just raw horsepower.

On the issue of fairness I'm puzzled why you feel its more fair for a driver that gets lucky on the pill draw and starts on the front row pole and on those hot August nights when the track slicks over in hot laps only has to protect the bottom and keep it under him should make the dash rather than a driver that draws a big pill and has to start in the back and who has been rooting around taking advantage of every mistake for 8 or 10 laps but because he runs out of laps has to settle for 4th should not make the dash.

I think any method that took the luck out of it and put the driver in control would not only make for better racing but would serve as a reason for more of the top drivers to consider racing there.

how can you have a "BIGGER" motor when the rules limit you to a certain amount?if you are talkin l.m. and mods then ya,but as far as me and tom goes you can only do so much.just to let you know i do know how the passing points work.i even drove tysons car the very last night last year at b.c. and they did passing points,i raced pevely nationals and they did passing points.so where did you race that you liked them so much?if passing points where done at b.c you would have idiots running all over top of eachother.pevely has enough room to avoid this.
