The Roundup

Nothing against anyone here...and not trying to start any trouble...to late in the season for that. But I was under the impression that the Pro-4 class was kinda like a beginner class for racing. Even though some folks spend 10 years running in the class, at least they stayed in the class the whole time. I thought that once you moved up in a class it was kinda pointless to come back down to the pro-4s. Unless it's just to take the win/money/glory from someone who's raced all year in that class. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone, but I just don't get it.

roundup

i looked at dennis erbs schedule he took the roundup off he has the d.t.w.c.and klms on there oh well.

People drop down classes to race all the time. If someone loves racing that much, they are going to take every chance they have to get in a car. Rusty Griffaw, Ray Wagoner, Conrad Miner, Mark Miner, Danny Haynes, Chris Fisher.... That is just from saturday night. Obviously this post is pertaining to Chris. What most people know is that this kid lives for racing, and is one hell of a driver. so when Brad Smith called him and asked him to drive his car at the fall nationals, he jumped on it. That is why he and i spent every evening last week working on Brads car, which has not seen the track since 2006 and spent most of the time outside under a tarp. That is what racing means to us. Chris siezed the opportunity to race and possibly put a little change in his pocket. Hopefully he can get a little more at the round up. Then maybe he can buy Ray Walsh's thrack champion car from this year. O well. People also complain when Shrader and Wallace go to the dirt tracks and clean house. Anyway, This post is my opinion only, and does not reflect the views of the parties mentioned herein. My name is Nathan Portell and i approved this message.

Yep!!! Sh!t I approve this message too.

Plus it isn't just that easy to jump down to the Pro-4's and win.

I have heard some drivers of upper class cars give us pro4 drivers a lot of respect for driving the pro4 cars once they hop into one..so I think if you can get into a car, get into one. Let's just go out there and have some fun. I've had fun running against higher class drivers who have driven a pro4 with us this year! :)

as far as i know fishman has only ran non points racesthats ok with me. now i know of someothers that have ran points races. i dont think that is right

Fish paid his entry fees just like anyone else. He deserves to race too. Competition makes you better!!! Good luck Chris, take all their money!!!!

Huuuuuh???

So if the pro 4's are a class for the begginner/budget racers then which one are you? Seems to me that if you are a begginner you'd want all the competition you can get out there to maybe learn something?????? Aside from gaining experience from racing against these guys, most of them would help a fellow racer out if you just asked. When I started racing I was not a car guy(couldn't change own oil... for real) so everything I learned was from someone else generous enough to want to help me. If guys are dropping down to jack up somebodys point season then thats a different story. But at any big money show you can't expect guys to not get in a car when they have earned a reputation that makes people want to offer them the ride. The other issue is this: If you have been running a Pro4 all season, don't you think you'd have a slight edge over a driver from a different class that jumps down for only one night? JMO.

apologies

I make my apologies now...sorry, sincerely...didn't want to make anyone mad. I'll just keep my mouth shut next time. I guess opening my mouth comes with being a beginner in the budget class. Sorry guys!

There's no such thing as budget racing anymore. Geez Jackie, thats why I need you to pay my entry fee.Heth cut off all the money. :(

Take this from someone who had a few problems and didnt make the feature. It stinks. But I tried to do the same by putting Mark in our sportsman. Make some money to put back into having the engine freshened for next year.

Anyways, after paying 40 bucks to win on a given night...... you throw out $800 and everyone will show up. Bring it on, heck, I hope I learn something from the big boys.

Guys' I honestly didn't see it the way you all are portraying it...I really do understand now. Everyone has been so helpful when I've had questions or anything like that. And all the concern you guys have shown to me (like when I fliped) was so touching. I meant no disrespect. Your right, I have learned so much form all the other drivers. I'm down there to make friends and have a lot of fun...not to make ANY enemies. So again...sorry! I even get told by my kids (Jake & Jess) that I have a tendency to say the wrong thing at the exact wrong time...will I ever learn? Portell, Fischer, Harris anyone else I offended...Sorry guys! I respect ya all! Please cut me some slack.

And Gary...sorry to hear Hether cut the purse strings...that's gotta bite...LOL I'm sure Pop's and I can help if ya really need it... but remember, I have a car that needs a good wax job (dents and all) by next Wednesday!:p

Hope there's no hard feelings here at me, cause I really just wanna get out there at the round up and have a good time. I hope everyone had a good time and that we all stay safe out there. Good luck guys (and gals!).:)

Apologies from me...Jackie 667

Quit apologizing girl. This site is intended to voice your opinion, ask questions, and If someone does not agree, then just agree to disagree. You guys pay allot of money every week to go to the track, just like everyone else, and are entitled to your opinion.

Just make sure you tell that old man to polish that car up for the roundup. Momma's ride needs to shine for the big event.

You'll never know the answers unless you ask the questions. Jackie, you spoke up and they responded. You know these guys & gals well enough to know there was no real offense taken. They were just "pleading their case".

Like Nathan said they love the sport so much and will grab any opportuntiy to get under the hood and/or behind the wheel! Chris did intentionally avoid points races in the Pro-4 class. He knows what its like to work so hard week in and week out to climb up that points ladder.

Chris wouldn't have been out there without Nathan's help. In fact Nate, I hope he handed over some of his winnings to you! Knowing you though, you refused it if he did. I hope you found the $$$ Greg left in your truck seat for the food and drink you provided Saturday night. He knew if he tried handing it to you personally you would have handed it right back!

We hope you all know our trailer and toolbox are always open to anyone needing a hand (well...just about anyone.) Goodness knows you all have been there for us many times and it so appreciated! That includes the Buechting Racing Team, as well. Gerald has even shown his generosity in a non-racing environment to my mom's small church which needed an emergency repair on their well a few weeks back. He found out it was Chris' grandparent's church and Buechting Drilling was more than fair. They went above and beyond for a fellow racer's family member. :)

You go Mamma Fischer!!!!!!!! And boy chris had an awesome run. Nathan would not take the money cause he would want Chris to put it back in his racecar.

Was that a SHOCKER race car he was driving? Where can I get one of those?

Is there one for sale anywhere? Nathan did an awesome job of getting it tuned up.

PS-I would leave that tool box open and UNATTENDED as some of these shady folks around here would carry it off!:D

anyone wanna let me race their car in the round up please?!?!?!?!?

Shannon, I'm still trying to get Jake to call his buddy to see if he'll let you run one of his. I don't know if anyone on here knows who you are for sure...but if they did, they'd probably offer you one. You were like Jake at your track...2nd in points. To bad you got rid of your truck. If anyone knows Shannon and has an extra car.. think about it!?! Please... she a great lil gal and it would be cool to race against her. She's from Montgomery and it would be great to have another gal out there with Jessica and I! If anyone is interested in helping her out...give me a shout (a PM) and I'll give her your number!
