Tri City Beer Girl

I think I'll kick this old thead one more time... drive people away? Alcohol consumption can keep spectators away. Many tracks have no alcohol sections in the grandstands, why do you think that is? Because many fans are turned off by inconsiderate drunks. Now they have a place to sit and not get beer spilled on them. Racers AND beer drinkers, well, hopefully not at the same time. I was at the pit gate with other drivers, when we saw intoxicated driver go through, we got together and politely said, "no driving tonight friend." Again, I'm no booze cop, and have come back to life on a friend's front lawn a few times. Plus living in the STL area is a beer lovers heaven. (I like the t-shirt that says. "A beer drinking town, with a baseball problem.") Defending race track drinking is not going to endear you to people who stereotype racers/racing fans as a bunch of lowlife's. That's not going to get new fans in the stands!
Obviously nobody condones a sloppy drunk..or an impaired driver. but first off I don't believe there's very many people who stereotype race fans as low lifes. i can tell you that most that I come in contact with recognize and appreciate racers and racing. Even the non-fans..but you can go to the races and see that this sport NEEDS beer drinkers. They're the biggest single group in the stands..(men20-50yo with a beer in their hand)..and my point was that this sport was literally built on alcohol consumption..you know the whole prohibition thing that spawned everything auto racing we see today..so the idea of its support group being made of anything else is just real dumb..I agree there needs to be a non alcoholic section at the track..it's not for everyone.however
They're a small minority. We don't necessarily have to get a huge crop of "new fans" we just need some to come *back.
