Tri-City Speedway hires Dave Waldon as track announcer!

There will be a new flagman in the flagstand. I believe his name is Kyle, he was an official there last year. I believe they still plan to have Hoot working at the track in some capacity.

Kyle Strain. I raced Street Stocks with him some years back. Nice guy, Good official. I wish him the best of luck.

i didn't say i would throw eggs and tomatoes at dave !! i was just saying how doug gets inside and asks questions, and lets the fans know things other than sponsors and drivers names. i never said throw dave to the ground, before he gets a chance. i also asked if doug is still at godfrey this year ?? i was not downgrading the dude, calm down ! good luck dave !! ill leave the eggs home the first few weeks loll

Things change and reguardless of the reason behinde it, Doug, you did an outstanding job! Maybe we'll recognize that familiar voice somewhere sometime.

i know you have to be reading this so what is your side . alot of us would like to know what you are doing and where you are going.

Thanks for asking. I'll be announcing at Godfrey and Mt Vernon in 2005. Dave Walden is a fine announcer. Aside from Jacksonville and Farmington, he announced at Godfrey in the early 90's when Sprints were the featured attraction.

glad to hear you will still be with us a godfrey doug good luck to ya this year my friend and yes dave is a good announcer but were going to miss that jager voice of yours at granite

Anyone who has heard Dave Waldon at Jacksonville knows he's a fantastic announcer. Plus, Doug landed on his feet at Mt. Vernon, so I'd say it's worked out well for everyone involved.

Cool..glad to hear you are back at Mt Vernon Doug..you will be missed at Tri City though. Im sure Dave is a good announcer..ive heard alot of good things about him and Kevin just shaking the tree at Tri City. Glad you will remain doing Godfrey too.

Good Luck to ya Doug. Im sure we will run into at Godfrey from time to time. I think we are gonna venture over there a bit this year to make a laps.

Doug- Well, let me just say, it will never be the same without you. However, I am confident wherever you may go, God knows you have a tape dubbed telling you about every turn in their track, every driver in their pits, and every fiasco you will encounter, (luckily beer girls only do live shows, taping is not allowed under any circumstances.)
Kyle- I am growing more and more respect for you, however, as I would expect you to do the same, I may still tease you. Hope this next year is a great one for both of you and your families!
