Tri-City

Belleville only gets the Drivers that cannot win at Tri-City. I would like to see a match race night. Take the 12 best Tri-City point leaders, and the 12 best Bville point leaders. Dixon and Kloos are the only two Bville drivers who could finish in the top 10.

Make sure you run it at both tracks.Racing at Belleville is the same as everywhere else. Its not always about who has the biggest motor its who can drive and i would doubt most TC would even go to BC you know that whole excuse its to small to race there.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE. The Gundakers are great. The have a raceable track each and every race night.

I have been to Belleville and pay $12 to watch a merry go round.

I went to about 10 of the Summer National races, and TRI-CITY was by far the best experience I had.

Keep it up

Well congratulations! :rolleyes::D

The showdown.

Make them run Belleville, Tri City, and Highland just for some variation.

I think it is because of how many big shows they have had and he always runs in the front. I was surprised to see his name on there too. Doesn't seem fair for the Belleville team though.

Sorry Tammy but a late show I would think would fall into your caring about the drivers. Who wants to be one the road after 1 a.m. with some racers that might fall asleep at the wheel and not to mention the beer they slammed to stay awake. I take my kids when I go over there and thats why your track is not for me. Who wants to have your kid sleeping on your lap till 1. And before I am attacked isnt racing for everyone?? My 4 year old loves it. Just doesnt want to spend the night in the stands.

That is a very reasonable post.I'm glad i live within 30 minutes of all are tracks.I couldn't imaging working all day, racing all night, the having a 2 or 3 hour drive home. But these guys love what they do so they do it.I'm sure someone will get on here and say that if you don't like being up that late then don't go.I say keep going with your kids and stay as long as you can take it and enjoy the races with your kids.As they get older they will be able to handle the late nights better, the only problem is your getting older to and you might be the one falling asleep.:D

Oh yeh i have a 18 year old.So he is old enough to drive me home from the races but not old enough to drink so i figure i got 3 more years of free rides home after the races.

long thread

I went to tri-city for the first time two weeks ago, I went to b-ville last friday, bought a car today. I live in Shiloh and I'll see you at Tri-city on fridays, the shows are kind of long but the track is fantastic, competition is awesome... see you there the first friday in Aug.

One more thing.. I liked the posts with sensible suggestions about how to improve, not just whining. One thing I would say is axe the intermission, the fourwheelers and walkers need to stay off of the track, and stop the cars if they are having a problem with line-up or the caution is going to be more than one lap. It's easier to see the whiteboard when your stopped and it's safer for the cleanup team. Just my opinion, keep up the good work.

Promoters work 7 out of 7 days week after week giving the best they can.

Every Track is different and runs their programs according to their facility and their own rules this is what makes racing exciting every nights not the same and every Tracks not the same.

Some Nights go better than others. There's not a Promoter in the world that
wants a bad facility, rough track or a night where the races run long.

When your talking about long night here's a few facts to think about:
1) Car count
2) How Many Yellow Flags
3) Weather (leading up to raceday and raceday)
4) Track Prep (If needed)
5) Oil Spills
6) Bad Wrecks (Time to clean up)
7) Re-Lineups after a yellow some drivers not getting in line
8) Fights
9) Think about the things throughout the night that takes up time in the
program to stay on track. Most are out of the Promoters control.
10) These are just some of the situations

For Every Yellow Flag Thrown you figure you loose 5 minutes in your event getting the re-linups done. 5 Classes of cars and average of 20 yellows your
right off the bat loose Hour to Hour 1/2 just for yellows.

Race tracks are closing left and right and most tracks run more classes then they should, but if we don't run the classes the drivers won't have a place to race.

Race Track Staffs are there from 9:00am in the morning and 90% of them are their to completely close the facility after a race which usually takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The Last thing we want is a late night.

Late Nights mean extra costs:
Ambulance
Security
Payroll
Lights
etc

Why would a Promoter want to run late.

Kevin and I will continue to improve the facility and work on the track to get it at it's best. We realize were not going to please everyone and can't, but the Drivers, Crews, Fans and Families mean alot to us and for the ones who don't like Tri-City It's just not the racetrack for you.

As for Improvements things take time and sometimes projects get put on hold.
We have big plans for Tri-City and our goal is to make it one of the top notch facilties in the Midwest. Things just take time.

When Promoters get on here and hear the comments after they host a event when they've worked hard to give it the best for the Fans and Drivers. Most Promoters don't host Major Events because of this reason.

There are alot of closed Racetracks and seems more are closing every day.
Were all here because we love racing, but when you get on here a bash and bash it's makes are sport look bad.

We've got great tracks in our area to race at and alot of Drivers that want to race. Instead of jumping on here why don't you show up at one of these tracks and ask to help and see what it's really about. I guarantee you you'll walk away with a whole different attitude when you realize what it takes just to put a weekly show on let alone a major.

If a tracks not for you and you don't like what they do then don't go. That way you don't have to get on here a bash when you really didn't like the facility to begin with.

Tammy Gundaker

Kevin and Tammy,
Don't let the whiners get you down. I'll bet 99% of us realize that it's a damn tough job to run a top notch facility like yours. And we appreciate all that you do to give us a great venue to come and enjoy what we love. We know life isn't perfect and we accept it. Some people really need to try to look at the bright side of things instead of only seeing things as being negative. I'll bet you don't have many takers on your offer to let people come and help either. Keep up the good work.
