UMP DIRTcar Limited Modified Rule Note for UMP DIRTcar Roundup at I-55 Raceway!

de

Jimmys just the messenger, dont blame him for anything. And UMP isnt lying, there making simplie things up as they go trying to make everyone happy instead of looking at the big picture.

Stll wish it was southwest MO B mod rules everywhere, pretty cut and dry.

Rule changes

If they're changing the rules for the limited mods to get more cars, why don't they change the rules for the 4 cylinders. There's 40 plus cars (mini stocks) in the area that are not going to be able to be run. and of them 40 I know of at least 20 that were UMP members. There cars were good enough to be sanctioned and have there membership money accepted but not good enough to race the biggest UMP race in the area. If UMP is going to cater to out of towners then why not take care of the guys right in Pevely's back yard. I think UMP should get a set of rules and stick to it. All tracks should quit changing rules 2 or 3 weeks before the races. If all this was going to be allowed why is it just now being addressed? I understand that they are going to allow it but they should let it be known in a timely manner most of the cars around here do not conform to those rules.

*Under the guideline of the 2009 DIRTcar UMP Modified rules any and/or rules and as stated in the 2009 DIRTcar Rule Book, all DIRTcar rules applies to all divisions, except in instances where any local track rules, pertaining to any item are listed in the local track rules, whether that is in the technical components and/or the racing procedures and/or overall rules that are administered by the local track officials and management. In those instances and where applicable, the local track rules shall prevail.

Thanks to I-55 for giving us the chance to run. (The more we bi=-h chance's are we wont get asked back and right now our class is hurting for a GOOD track to run at). What do you have to lose, it looks like to me if you make the feture you will get a least $150.00 bucks.

Looking at what Junebug posted for the Kentucky B-Mod rules, it specifically mentions GM’s 602 crate engine. ... I don’t think many ya’ll B-mod drivers ‘round here need to worry about 4-barrels in a B-Mod if it’s only allowed on a 602 crate. Seems like a fair fight to me.

oh well... Yea, I really get to make up the rules for UMP Limited Modifieds myself.. LOL...

No crap Jimmy D. How does one get that gig?

UMP could start a new class called the Super Open Limited Modifieds. Take an A Mod make them a run a cheaper tire and claim it to be a "budget" class.

What would we call them? The A- mods or the B+ mods......:D

If I were Jimmy I would be too… All the guy is trying to do is get the info out there to the people that need it, and it never fails people start sling poo at HIM.

I understand that Jimmy is the messenger but he put himself into the the discussion with his 2nd post. If he didn't want to be in the discussion, maybe he should have left his involvement at the 1st post and let the discussion go from there. I don't feel that I was attacking Jimmy, I never posted anything in all caps but he put himself on the other side of a discussion.Like I said before, I don't have a dog in the fight so I don't care if Bittle, Hancock or any of the other mod drivers enter both classes. I just think it's pointless to have 2 classes basically a 2 or 4 barrel carb away from each other. Sorry that some people get their feelings hurt so easy.

Glad someone FINALLY sees the BIG picture..... Any A Mod that has a STEEL block & steel heads can slap a 2 barrel on and run the LIMITED class..... What the heck is LIMITED about this class????????????

good point junebug!!!

its shaping up to be the differance between a 2-barrel and a 4-barrel between the two classes. what happend to taking a mod chassis and throwing a sportsman drivetrain in it and going racing???? i hope this isnt a trend to come for the class. JMO!!
