UMP takes Korte's crate motor after feature win at Tri-City Speedway!

UMP DIRTcar had Randy Korte's crew remove their crate engine after the feature win at Tri-City Speedway so they could take it for inspection. Results of the inspection should be complete within 7 days and the team's engine will be returned. In the meantime, UMP DIRTcar provided the team with a temporary replacement engine.

Randy Korte and team had no issues with providing the motor for inspection and are 100% confident the motor will be found legal.

I highly doubt Korte had a cheater motor.. UMP needs to TECH the top 5 at these shows & then they will start catching the cheaters...... if they even know what to look for :rolleyes:
 
The car Korte was driving belongs to Kehrer Brothers. Billy Faust has driven this car earlier this year as well. Korte's Super Late Model is sponsored by Kehrer Brothers as well.

Sean, still trying to be a sh** disturber I see. The place UMP sends the motors to for inspection knows what they are looking for. UMP doesn't do it themselves.
 
im glad to see the car go to inspection by ump. i saw the race last night. im a regular at tri city and that car i think has big problems going into inspection.i mentioned something to my buddy last night after i saw kevin pull kortre over at turn 4. i said i bet kevin and ump are telling him they r going to pull that motor.he said no its the driver (KORTE FAN) me myself is not a korte fan. but it aint kortes car so hes not responsible except for payout and points.yeah i can say korte can drive the hell out of a late model and a mod. but come on u are not going to get that good of a jump off the start and after one lap be almost a full back straight away away from the driver in second. im just saying that car has never ran that good even when billy faust was driven it and i would pick billy any day of the week if there was ever a 2 car showdown between billy and korte just for the simple fact that billy is a clean driver and not a big head.
 
A few weeks ago when Jeff Walston (normal UMP Super Late Model racer) won the crate race at PIR and wouldn't let UMP have the crate motor from his car, he had to pay $1,000 fine before he could race in the UMP Super Late Model division again.
 
dont they suspend u from so many races to? i know they wanted chris fishers motor a few weeks ago at I-55 from what i heard and he wouldnt do it so they suspended him for 4 races from what i heard.
 
That was a complete car claim by another team, not a UMP claim. Totally different deal.
 
you know thats exactly how they need to do it is sneak in unannounced when noone expects it like a lucas show good job ump for sneaking up on that one now every one will know if that motor is legal or not....then there will be no more that can be said

i love to watch faust race and he is one of my favorites, but i do disagree with you saying that car didnt run like that when faust was in it cause it did and i believe that that car is 100% legal those 2 can just wheel a car better than most
 
when it comes down to it i know the car ran good with both drivers in it and i believe in all honesty both drivers are pretty much equally matched besides the dirty driven of korte,but anyways the car i believe was alot, lot,faster last night then i have ever seen. there were 2 drivers last night that were staying almost in the same line as korte but was a little higher and there cars where alot smoother around the turns to where korte was bouncing all over the place esp. in turn 2 and 4 esp. when these motors are suppose to be equal and the drivers i was talking about him running away from werent just drivers it was mark oller that he was running away from and i dont see that happing,and what i meant in my other post was that it was pretty equal races when billy was racing it but when korte jumps in it last night there was no comp.
 
Just an observation, that car "sounded" just like the others. I think it's the cat turning the wheel that made it so fast. That's just my opinion. We'll find out in a week won't we?
 
We may be wrong, but I too will put my money on the guys that have been driving this car and not the motor.;) They are in a different league than everyone else!

First of all, you are out of your mind if you are trying to say that car didnt run like that with Faust driving. I watched that car win several weeks in a row win by atleast a straight away. In fact I have never seen that car lose. I'm not going to say the motor is or isnt legal. I am very confident that Korte and Faust ran that car with that motor in it. Both drivers are very good drivers and I would love to find out that the motor is legal. I would hate that either one of these drivers will be pinned with this fact and it not be either drivers car or motor.And why would you take anything away from either one of these guys by saying something like that when both guys can wheel a car and different nights, tracks, starting positions, etc. would determine an outcome. Different nights would bring different winners.
 
Do any of you really believe that Billy Faust or Randy Korte needs a cheated up car?

Remember last fall when Billy Faust got in Brant Kehrer's car, the same car that Brant often struggles in, and lapped the field up to 7th before breaking with just a few laps to go? I'm not at all bashing Brant, I'm just saying that Billy Faust is just that good. Brant's car looked cheated up when Billy was driving it. Great drivers get the most out of their cars. Clearly, Billy got more out of his car that night.

I'd love to see both Korte and Faust run in that big Crate race at TCS this fall.
 
was this a faust motor if so it will be interesting to get the results. and yes both drivers are good wheel men. driver makes huge difference in how well the car does.

What sean2 thought he said was 'UMP needs to have the top 5 TECHED at these shows ...... if those doing the TECH even know what to look for...

That is if he even knows what he is talking about.

Is there another member of this forum that will stand-up for sean2 and brag that he is a knowledgeable person that we should listen to?

Is there another member of this forum that believes the people doing engine tech for UMP don't know what to look for?
