UMP to remain the same for 2005!

Boundless is more interested in acquiring rather than selling, so I don't think you'll have to worry about that.
Its no secret late models are their main concern. The modifieds were just an added bonus. Weather they sell them this year or not remains to be seen. But I wouldn't be suprised.

Also, do you think I-55 (Kenny Schrader's track) would set up a partial 2005 schedule if they didn't know what was going on??? Everyone should realize that everything is going to stay the same if I-55 already has UMP Summernationals schedule, and show UMP modifieds being support for the April sprints.

I'm not tryin to single you out moonflow, but it seems you have a serious case of Schrader worship going on. I showed the SEC Filing document and the press releases to my Economics teacher {who isnt a racefan so she dont have any bias on ths}, and she said that from the way it looks that the previous owners would still be on as advisors. I asked her what that means and she said that they could throw their weight around to some extent depending on how much influence they have. It also means that if the DIRT group does something unpopular all they have to do is throw their hands in the air and say they didn't have any part in it. She finished by saying this is a classic case of the pervious owners having their cake and eating it too. I guess that has already started with Pevely getting some good dates and Farmers City getting dropped from the Summer Nats.

Wouldn't surprise me either. Havent heard a thing about them in any of the other boards either.

Here we go again blaming pevely for everything. Every date so far on pevely's schedule is the same as in year's past they haven't gained anything as far as I can see.

First off, the only track that I know of to have their major shows solidified is I-55.

Secondly, I go to I-55 because it's the best facility in the area, and it's 15 minutes from my house, not because it's owned by Schrader.

Thirdly, I don't go just to I-55. If Pevely cancels, I usually head to Highland. I've also been to Farmer City and Vermilion County.

Yes it is an unbiased opinion. I spoke at some length to both the DIRT people and the UMP people. DIRT doesn't have a clue and UMP doesn't know whats going on. Like I said alot of BS. My take on what the people at the DIRT booth had to say was that they think they have bought up the next NASCAR LOL They paid including stock options a little over 3 mil. and I just don't see what they got for their money??? Also spent 15 minutes TRYING to explain to them what the diff was in a UMP modified and a DIRT modified and they never did get it!!!

The rules were available at PRI The guys with UMP said "theres the rules thats all we know for sure" See in another post on here DIRT bought MARS also?????

Well, if no one knows what they are talking about with UMP or DIRT, then how come UMP has got their 2005 rules posted for the late models and modifieds?

Anyone can put out a set of rules. That's still no guarantee that they know what they're doing.

Tri City also has their Summernationals, Challenge of Champions and WoO Sprint shows announced (saw it on the other website). But does that guarantee that things are staying the same? No, it just means that both partuies agreed to have a race at that particular track on that partuicular date. By then, the rules could be ammended to include Big Block Modifieds and Wedge cars. That doesn't mean it will, or that it's even likely. I'm just using that to point out that there is no correalation between putting out a schedule and knowing what you're doing.

As an aside, I am very dissapointed that Schrader & Company saw an opportunity to dump a company that was given to him by a man who trusted them. Can they sleep at night as the sound of Memmer rolling in his grave haunts their slumber?

I got the same impression when I talked to some of the Boundless brass. They remind me of the poor virgin in high school on a date with the class floozie, knowing there is potential for something big to happen, but not sure how it's supposed to work. ;)

And yes, MARS is now property of DIRT.

I just can't help but think there is a master plan with DIRT Motorsports buying all this stuff up. I don't feel weekly racing is part of the big picture. UMP may stay like it it for now. But, I think things will change eventually(Late Model). Then the sanction sold to another party to keep it as a weekly racing series.

DIRT is building a Super Late Model touring series juggernaut. They are gonna eventually have everyone who is anyone in Late Model racing at their shows. They will squash any other rival or upstart sanction that comes along competing for the big boys. Even if it means paying big names to show like they already have. Instead of the Dirty Dozen, it may be the Filthy Forty!

I may be wrong who knows. We'll just have to wait and see. I doesn't bother me, because I think UMP has gotten too exspensive for local racing anyway.

Sigh....no one would be happy without some kind of dismal outlook, would they? Let what happens in the future happen. Be glad that the schedules are being hammered out, and that UMP should, for the most part, be the same as last year. It's too late for DIRT to change the UMP rules anyway, drivers would need at least a one or two year notice on major rules changes (body, engines, etc.). There may be some announcements in the future, but while ya'll are worrying, I'll be at I-55 watchin' Dixon 3-wheel it around the high side.

Its not dismal to me nor am I worrying! Like I said, UMP is too high priced for local racing! I hope they do change! So keep your rose colored glasses on that show you only the trees and not the forrest.

It would be naive to think they have to or will give much notice of change. They may give plenty of advance notice, and it would be the right way to do it. But, their main concern isn't local yocals. Don't kid yourself.

If Imca Is So Great They Would Be At Atrack Somewhere Near Here ,there Are Tracks That Are Imca Rules With Exceptions

UMP has a hold on St. Louis right now. Go north or south of I55 and west of Montgomery County Speedway. Just because UMP is what is in immediate STL area doesn't make it great either! I believe most drivers support it because it is whats here and have no other choice in St. louis.

BTW....... Sanctioning is just a formality, you don't need it. Just run the rules. The point fund for local weekly sanction championships isn't all that. UMP mods got $10,000 for champion. 4th got maybe 1/4 of that. Do you have any idea what the top guys had to spend to finish in that $2500 spot. How about 15 times that over the season. Tire bills in excess of $6000. I know for a fact what a couple told me who finished in the top 10. At least with IMCA they could cut their tire bills by 75%!

I hear Malden(an IMCA sanctioned track) is paying $750 this year for mods. Thats what I've heard. Its not on thier web-site. They Already pay $600 for 15+ cars.

thry have been paying that for years still no car and it's imca rule with exceptions no motor claim an d the suc h I went to 3k to win not at malden some other track and they had 40 cars I wonder what oled let's say pevely would get if they paid that much

All I know is the tire bills are lower and no need for 18* 600 horsepower motors with the tires they run. Plus Malden had a "$1000" and exchange motor claim. Thats more than UMP.
