UMP trying to kill another race track??

Shame all the tracks in Illinois can't team up and drop ump or atleast stand up to the non sense
I agree 100 percent! If the shoe was on the other foot well id hope they would do the same. These tracks seem to work together as it is to keep car counts pretty good so be nice to see them work with this issue as well and a solid response

This is sad. The Illinois/Missouri tracks, especially the southern tracks, really need to band together and tell UMP to move on. The tracks are suffering because of unfair and inconsistent enforcement of rules. I understand there would be some popular local guys fhat1 would forced to run elsewhere to compete for points, but in the end there would be enough cars showing up to make it work...just my opinion.

Gotta question...... would u rather watch a show with full fields of race cars that have more racer cost friendly rules? Or a show with partial fields of race cars where u can pick the winner with 99% success before the green flies. With the current cost obsurd rules we have with UMP?

I go with the latter. But i must say i understand the promoters dilemma. Do they make the bold choice to go against the UMP cartel and develope a set of rules for the classes and risk the racers not supporting it? I understand the fear because lets face it. Racers are stupid. If we werent we wouldnt be doing this dumb shit anyway. For damn sure wouldnt be doing it supporting a crooked outfit like UMP. Promoters probably think if they jump ship racers would just go off to the UMP track and leave them hanging and the other track would see the benefits of their loss.

Everytime the discussion comes up most racers dont want to change if it would outlaw what they currently have. Yeah it cost to convert to the new. But in the long run it would probably save them money. May also push back their exit from the sport when they can no longer justify what they are spending to have fun.

If ur to blind to see the writing on the wall well u will see when it when it becomes reality. Our sport in NOT thriving anymore. It never will again if the we continue the current status quo. Our sport no longer has the luster to draw in the NEW generation. It also no longer has what it takes to keep the current fans from straying. In my younger years we were at the track every weekend. At least 2 nights. We sat in the same spot most of the time and would see the same faces there also. Not that way anymore. If something doesnt change it never will be again. Now we have track bringing in qualifying??? Making the racing even more boring and presictable. Making it even easier for the best to win. Same guys winning and sometimes never having to pass a car to do it. Lol unless its a lapped car.

My opinion is.... pack the pit area with cars and the granstands will soon follow. But make the badasses work for the checks and checkers.

Oh well the racers hold the most power. We are the show. What people come to see. But like i said we are stupid!

You guys are wasting your time with this post, because no stl track in the area have the ba((s to do something like step out I mean and but I wish they would things well jus stay the same

Pevelys biggest crowds for regular nights were back when they weren't UMP. They had draft beer which was a big seller. And the fastest guys didn't start up front every week. They had outlaw wing night, buckets of beer, Ed Dixon putting on a clinic every week, street stocks mixing it up on AND off the track, an intermission where drivers could walk the track and talk to fans. Music playing during down time on the mic and programs that identified the drivers. Losing all of those things aren't good.

Totally agree.

IN addition, we don't have promoters or racers willing to fight city hall! UMP is supposed to be a membership group representing racers and promoters. It does nothing of the sort. They are only for putting money in their own pockets!
