USRA Meeting

And selling brats at 400 am got sell one more hot dog

But the bmods did faustfan street stocks are dead in this area need rules like oakshade they have the car count

If they dont want to change sanctioning bodies then what they need to do is do away with the "factory" stocks and let them become actual street stocks. The car counts would go up then. There is alot of good sportsman chassie's laying around that noone is using that would be good canidates for street stocks. As far as the motors go in a street stock....i dont know what to do there because those motors are some high dollar motors in that class. Dont believe that hound.....do some research and look! There is one out there right now for sale that is off the charts expensive! Either way something has to be done now!

finally a good post bring the sportsman back with street stocks crates are competitve also

Just a question about Oakshade, I have also noticed the car counts being good... with that being said, are there any tracks competing against this track, or is it the only track in the area... maybe its not the rules, but the location just asking

Doug i would hope it would be for a complete race program. But i think the biggest issue is the late models and a-mod people are just like the tracks...they are very content with being U.M.P! And i see no issue with that because those guys can go to any U.M.P sanctioned track and run but the "support" class's cant! We all need to be on a even playing field. For example the hobby stocks in this area cant go run with the ones from Michigan or Indiana! They are two different cars. If i choose to travel to race i cant do it because my car isnt legal there or i will get my tail handed to me and its vise versa for the other hobby stocks in other areas! Like i said earlier whatever we are doing now isnt working so we must change it now not later! But again as i stated earlier i would bet none of the local promoters or owners will go to that meeting because they dont want to jump from U.M.P!!

Valid point. But for the sake of conversation, why USRA? Nothing against them, I don't know enough about them to have an opinion. If it's uniform rules we're after, why not IMCA? They already have a presence in the region (Quincy has IMCA for Sport Mods, Stock Cars and Sport Compacts while their Late Models and Mods are UMP) and host the biggest festival of speed each September, the Supernationals in Boone, IA. Again, not lobbying for IMCA either, just soliciting opinions. Thoughts?

All I know about imca is I loved watching videos from them during the super nationals. Amazing media coverage from them online and live

just north of eldora it ain't just the rules hint hint but ticket prices to get 12 bucks grandstand 20 pits for every show in fact they lower the concession prices at big races and 55 plus bombers is a bad year tracks near http://www.racingin.com/track/map.aspx?s=OH

Good point shredxcam. As we all know, social media is one of the more effective forms of communication if you can't get TV or Radio coverage. And IMCA seems to have figured that out quite well.

Summit did a good job posting the modified summer nationals this year and that was awesome

Usac gets all over mavtv

And Lucas oil late models

But I never see a lot of stuff from usra
Maybe I just don't look in the right places

Social media exposure or tv time would help draw sponsor money.

Even something as low budget as just one or 2 guys taping a night then throwing it on YouTube the next day

world 100 was on dirt on dirt infact all summer nats had highlights and so much more and very interesting video interview with birky AL you should listen

I love Dirt on Dirt, but to capture the non-hardcore fan and turn them hardcore, they need to be fed free stuff first.

The only reason i said USRA was because they are the ones having the "informational" meeting in the area. I am open to IMCA also. The thing with IMCA is they dont play around...they put out a set of rules and if you choose not to abide by those rules they are more than happy to show you where the gate is! I am for that also. We need a sanctioning body who is willing to do that. Right now with U.M.P we have nothing in the support class's. I myself dont know enough about USRA but i do have some people i have been talking to that run USRA and im not totally convinced they are the right way to go just yet. Now IMCA im convinced wont mess around. I have a couple friends who run IMCA up in Iowa and have been watching whats going on here and they tell me all the time..(yea IMCA wouldnt put up with half of that). Another problem you have here is some tracks play favortism. Whether you want to admit it or not they do. I can tell you a track that does and show you that it does but thats for another day and time. And right now we dont need that. If you are caught illegal then you need to be punished for that and right now we arent getting that. IMCA seems to keep things in check and their car counts are 5 times better than ours. Obviously they are doing something right. I just know we as fans, drivers, car owners, track promotors and track owners can no longer sit back and let it go! Something has to be done now! The times of just brushing it under the rug and doing nothing about it has caught up to us and its time to change. It obvious a few tracks in the area realize something...why else would they do what they done this year with the support class's and the membership? Its now time to put that plan in action and get the ball rolling!

favoritism happens everywhere , if IMCA is so great why or there other sanctions and geuss what change sanctions you still have the same tech guys
