Tis Tis Tis you guys:
Stop throwing needless comments back and forth at each other.
When the rules state "NO Knife Edging" of the crank I would assume that everybody knows just what a Knife Edge looks like.
You Know:
It's the working side of that thing you bring to a gun fight when you don't know what you are getting yourself into....
Nowhere in the rules of any track I have looked at stated you could not balance the rotating assembly and to do this you must move the counterbalance weight around and yes even remove or add some.
A few grams one way or another at max.
Knife edging of the crank would effect the balance drastically and cause the engine machinist to resort to drastic measures to bring it back into balance.
I would invite anyone to see the cranks in our 2.3's even if it is looking through the peep hole in the pan. Even those with a minimal knowledge would agree that they are not knife edged.
As for those who don't even posses the basic knowledge that the carb must be tight for it to work properly or that the trans must be bolted down would struggle with this decision and might see the crank as knifed edged.
Those people pose a safety hazard and are not welcome in our shop for fear they might slip on a piece of milk and sue us for all we have, if you catch my drift.
Please talk to me directly if you have any questions on the preparation of our engines.
I am responsible for this task and I don't take it lightly.
Let me say that we stayed well within the rules set forth by the RAMS last year. Being the new comer, I would not want the reputation of being a cheater at any time much less in our first time out..

We had a blast with all you Guys and Girls last year.
Even though we all had some suspicion as to who was and who wasn't strictly legal.
When the tech people have not been directed by the promoter to inspect the field for infractions, you would sort of expect this type behavior.
I think you call that an OUTLAW track in the world of dirt circle track racing.
I am not pointing the finger at anyone accept the one who told Joe or Jim that our cranks are knife edged.
"Speaking of DULLEST TOOL IN THE SHED" has anyone seen him?
What a tool, can't even tell a knife edge from a gun barrel.
Please let me know if you wish to come over and inspect our cranks.
I will need to make the shop "CHILD PROOF" before you visit.

See there, you really should get your facts straight! My crank is legal see its been deburred - remember your source of info.

its like a soap opera on here. Plus why are you calling each other out now? Couldnt you wait till the 1st race to call each other out and start the bickering then? (who knows you might be bickering now with them for nothiing if you end up beating them) Just see how it goes. Plus the Mini Stocks are a starting out class and its supposed to be for FUN. This used to be a beginners class Ashley. A few years ago someone with no experiance could build there own car and have a couple hundred in their motor and run in the middle of the pack after half a season. Now to run in the middle you have to spend a few thousand on your motor.

i couldnt agree more with you its rediculious because i am starting to race this year and since the rules meetin it seems like in order to be anything but last you have to run a 5000 motor and stuff like that its unfair i have been goin to the races for like ever and since last year it seems like people are constantly bickering whose motor is bigger than the other its plain out stupid if you ask me! i think we should have more motor rules so some of us could have a chance to the front. i thought it was suppose to be the racer not the motor

I don't get mad, I'm just trying to protect all of us! Even you! See some people just don't have any common sense! (LOL get it I though that one in for YOOOOOOUUUUU!) Really the only thing I have a problem with is the tire issue. If you want to spend all your money on your motor have at it. And as far as me getting mad, you just like seeing me get all red, you sick-o!
