what size engine

Thanks for the compliment racer94, we are trying really hard to sell the sponsors and our old stuff so we can step up our engine program and hauler situation. 18* stuff is really the ticket, it takes a lot less cubes to make enough power and torque to get it done, and shorter storkes always have a smoother flatter torque curve. Racer94 sure seems to know his stuff, and the rest of you sure don't seem to be dumb either.

CC-28 yes it was a 434, with 23* proaction al heads from Rons, and it was pretty good with a cushion, or an a track with some moisture left in it. The big stroke killed me when the track would get slick. If anyone is interested in the parts that are still good from that 434 they are for sale, the heads are OK,with intake and spacer, the little M block is .040 ever 400 now, 6 6" oliver billets, 6 JE domed pistons with 1" CH. Comp cam, lifters, rev kit, ect. Will sell any or all, will trade any of it in on 18* stuff.

No way!!! get the big cubes, it;ll teach you how to use your foot, gives you horses at the big tracks. what happens when you get a 355 and you can be rough on the trottle with it and not spin the tires to bad and then you realize it wont cut the mustard and you get a big motor and all of the sudden, you cant get it to hook up because your so used to stompin on it. In the longrun learning with a big motor is better, because it teaches you foot control, which you can use no matter what size engine you get then. We always run the miles, along with 1/2's and 1/4's so we like the big ones

best of both worlds is a 388 with 18* topend and a good flowin carb and cam setup to go along with it.....dont be fooled by the big engine line, the little engines that could with 18* topend will give you all you want and more....good luck

What size engine?

What every size motor you end up deciding to use, just remember one thing: "Horsepower sell's Motors, but Torque Wins Races"

motor

build you a really good 355.just ask tim hancock, warners 44 car has a 355 with steel heads ran second at pevely at the big show and runs top 5 every where.you need seat time before you go to big, there is a lot of guys out there that would be glad to held you dial in your car, dont be afraid to ask for held, they would rather you ask and get it handling, instead of being a weapon.

I'm beginning to see more tracks putting IMCA mod rules in at their tracks and others are requiring steel heads or 23 degree. Do any of you see that this might cost you a lot of money in the end for the 18 degree stuff. Let me say up front I am only referring to central and western missouri, so if all you are going to run is UMP I can see where you could be safe.
