What's up with the legend?

I don't know Tubby. I wouldn't know him if I seen him. So this is not a bash against him.

I know racing is an addiction of sorts. It is definitely in the blood so to say.

I just think if a guy has had little success in his career. Maybe a win or two here and there. Nobody would care or pay attention to how long they have raced, or how their skill has deminished. But, Tubby is a legend. Like I said, I wouldn't know him if I seen him. But, even I have heard of the GREAT TUBBY BLACK! So with that said, I feel thats why people scrutinze him for continuing to race far past his prime. My opinion is.....Its a free country. If thats what he wants to do and is not a danger to anyone, more power to him. But, if it were me and I was such a household name in the history of sprint car racing. And was considered a legend. I would want to step aside and leave people with the great memories of my @$$ kickin' days. Not the ones where I was nothing more than back marker/field filler ect....ect....!

Like i said, nothing against Tubby or his accomplshments...j/m/o

To all who have a negative feed back about Tubby, you should be ashamed of yourself. I have been in a family of racers for as long as I can remember and Tubby has raced longer than most of you have been alive! Out of all the racers out on the track Tubby is one of the only who drives for enjoyment, Don't you think Tubby knows he will never have another feature win in his career. Of coarse he does. If Tubby thought at all he would risk the wellbeing of others he will hang up the towel. In respect for Tubby's maturity he does'nt hold a candle to the danger or careless driveing on that track. If he were to cause an accident it would be AN ACCIDENT! You should be more worried about the other drivers out there that will take you out just because you may be a threat to their feature win, thats been happening alot latley. After all if you pay any attention to Tubby driving you will notice that he doesn't try to block you or get in the way he moves out of the way to let the other drivers around which is alot better than any of the other lap traffic you get into. My perspective is that "Tubby keep on racin...." I enjoy seeing you out there and I hope you'll be there till the end don't worry about these guys if they were anybody they would have something better to do than sit around and bash someone who has more experiece than they can imagine. Maybe you should give them some pointers, Lord knows some could use them. At least Tubby still knows how to have a little CLEAN fun. I hope those of you who are negative about Tubby put yourself in his shoes, you might just like him and it sounds like you could use a positive rolemodel!

racin rules 32...thats the kind of crap that takes posts like this in the wrong direction. i agree that tubby should keep racing...if the other guys dont mind and he doesnt...its fun to watch, BUT...where do you get off saying someone should be ashamed for having an opinion otherwise? thats ridiculous. everyone should be entitled to express whatever feeling about someone they may have....who are you to shut them up? i have seen so many posts go wrong after someone made such a comment. you are entitled to your opinion, but as long as someone has one of the opposite...you are both right and wrong. ultimately it doesnt matter what we think, because we dont make decisions for these guys...thats the beauty...this is for entertainment...the same as the races themselves.

Zac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking your the one that may be taking this wrong......When somebody puts a post on here like this one, Sorry but to me its like Slapping tubby in the face................It's like talking behind someones back.........People that have Respect for Tubby are going to be Defensive.............I don't see the drivers on here complaining about Tubby.......So why should anyone else........The DRIVERS are the ones that has to deal with him...........Sorry but thats how I take all the comments about Tubby.....I think that RACING keeps him ALIVE.................GO TUBBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but i dont disagree with your thoughts on tubby. i just dont think ANYONE in the world is above being questioned. i think the people who have spoken have every right to ask what they ask. disagree with them all you want...but they shouldnt be talked down too because they have a difference of opinion...thats just plain ignorant.

Zac you're exactly right. I would like someone to explain to me how you can respect a person but not another's opinion?

Junebug nothing personal but everything does not revolve around You and Kenny and you seem to voice YOUR opinion on EVERYTHING, so why can't someone else? Is it because they're not in your little club of friends? Most of your post makes it look like you think you're above everyone else, and that if they don't side with you than they are a piece of garbage. Is that really how you want to be viewed?

I agree with Zac, it sure is refreshing to read his posts, it seems as if he is one of the few people posting on here that can see one issue from atleast two angles.....thanks Zac

Bigrightrear, before you going running your mouth about someone else thinking they are better than someone else you need to go back and read almost every post that you have ever posted !!!!!!!!!!!I just finished reading them for myself. Get a life dude and stop hiding behind a made up name !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The"Hustler"

Can I have the same life that you have? How does the air smell way up there? I don't think I'm better than any of you, DUDE. I just don't **** up to everyone. I would go back and read ALL of your post, but I don't have 3 weeks to sort through them all. I see that it's ok for you to mouth but no one else.hmmmm

Since you like to take personal jabs, I thought I'd give you one back.

This message board has almost 6,500 members, there is not one of those member's opinion any better than all of the rest. Everyone's is just different. Good or bad. You either agree or you don't. As far as the screen name goes, when I signed up you didn't have to put your name on the line. It's called privacy. The only reason people want the name on the bottom of the post is so that they can make it personal.Period. Kenny I think you're one hell of a racer, but sometimes you come across like your **** doesn't stink. It smells the same as everyone elses.

i agree about the whole opinion thing, bigright...not so much the name on the bottom thing. ill tell you right now...i post my name because im not ashamed of what i say. i speak my mind and say exactly what im thinking...like it or not. im not inviting anyone to come up and fight me or any of thast BS...we have laws for things like that. if you are ashamed of things you say then dont say them. i think you will just get a tad more respect for standing behind yourself and what you say. i think the only problem is that people have a hard time recognizing this is all for fun and they take it WAY too seriously. for example...in the past you and i havent gotten along too great. so what? im sure we'll disagree again. maybe i will always hate how you approach issues, but its your right to think and say what you wish. i can tell you right now that 99% of the people here could come up to me on a saturday and no matter whats been said on here we would get along. i do realize that everyone is not so understanding and some people would probably threaten you...but then i just say consider the source. be proud of what you say or dont say it.

I'm not ashamed of what I say either but judging by some of the responses that are on here, some of these people take themselves and this stuff WWWAAAAYYY to seriously. Therefore, since I have the option to not post a name on here I don't. If you feel that it makes you a bigger man then hey, go for it. Every man to his own. Just because you jump doesn't mean that I have to. And after looking at some of the other boards that are circulating I have noticed one thing on here that most others don't have, and that is the lack of understanding(or respect as some consider it) that not all people root for the same person. Which leads me to another point. Why do these people really care who you like if they don't like what you say to begin with? They don't like what you say but are very curious if they have the same views as you do. In all reality it doesn't matter what people say or post on here anyway, you're not going to change their views. If they want to spend their whole life defending other people that's up to them. I don't see to many people jumping at the chance to return the favor, though.

This enquiring mind would like to say that most race cars can reach 100mph or over on the straights but it depends on the length of the track. But you're not comparing apples to apples are you. Malden is not Farmington. It is pretty easy to go that fast when you don't do much sliding in the corners. Slam that dwarf car sideways in the corner like a sprint car and see what kind of speeds you have. Who exactly is it are you trying to impress with all of this? Enlighten me.....LOL

Will we be seeing the #75 mod-lite in victory lane next year? I'm kind of a #40 mod-lite fan myself. :D

I'm sure the dwarfs are hitting 100 at SFCR too, but I haven't had the luxury of a completed or competitive car for any of the races at SFCR thus far. I'll let you know when I DO turn 100 out there.

Put a fifty duro tire on a sprintcar and "drive it sideways at 100 mph at SFCR". Their tires are alot softer than ours and can handle more slip angle in the corners. Ours cars are a little faster when you point them in the right direction;)

I wasn't trying to impress you for sure, and no one else really. I was just commenting that I've been as fast on dirt as they are going at Farmington and I don't see where Tubby is creating any major problem. But it is obviously an agenda instead of opinion that keeps Tatersalad voicing on here. I just want to know his basis for the knowledge that Tubby is a danger, or that maybe he has been held up by Tubby at some point. It is, however, obvious that he is nothing more than a spectater since he can't let anyone know what kind of car he drives. I didn't even get personal and ask WHICH car he drives!

A 40 fan huh? Well so am I, and without the 40 car I would be having alot harder time putting my car together. He has been an asset and is a good friend. We built my chassis off of his with exception to the rear stub, which we tried a different design on. And the sheet metal is actually his from last year, though there will be a few changes made to it. To answer your question; I certainly hope you'll see it in victory lane but only time will tell. The driver is capable and the chassis certainly seems to be too.

Hope this was enlightening for you........

How fast you have been on dirt has nothing to do with Tubby. You keep bringing up tatersalad having an agenda with Tubby, sounds like you're starting to have an agenda with tatersalad.

The mention of speed was to express that I "had a clue" of running the kind of speed they're running and dealing with a slower car, something he obviously has no clue of. If I were racing with Tubby I'd feel the same way. He has just as much right to be out there as anybody out there and probably more than a few I've been seeing him race with.

My agenda was to express MY opinion on the subject and throw in a reason or two for my basis. What is YOUR agenda, seems you may be getting one yourself...LOL

dwarf car remarks!!!!????!!!!???

hey BIGRIGHTEAR if you seem to think dwarf cars are so d*mn easy to drive why dont you go invest the 10 grand that it takes to have a good competative car in this class and get your @** out here and lets see what you got. i can garuntee you one thing... dwarf cars are very cappible of 100+ mph if you dont beleive me go and ask JOHN LEHAY(SPL) JR. BLACK AND RED #8 mod lite what his speeds were at NEBRASKA ...... I drive the the #35 red and chrome mod lite (me and my dad alternate)
