Tech Men ........

During the years that i have been affiliated with the RAMS we asked for volunteers or nominations for Tech Men. Then the membership voted on these men. This RAMS year, there was NO voting on Tech men. As far as i remember, it was something that was voted on every year. If someone from the last year wanted to do it again they just put their name in the pot for voting/approval from the RAMS members. LD :)

Dont forget the rules for a protest!!!

If someone were to protest a car who is our weekly inspector at MCS? This needs to be addressed right away. I have heard rumblings of a protest coming and want it straight before it happens so we don't look stupid.
Read them carefully and dont leave your money at home....I would be wary about protesting much though.. Unless its a flywheel... ;)

yep

Hmmmm, this sounds a lot like last season. I think it only took two races last year before a few decided Dave was cheating. Don't be surprised if you are out the protest money. :)

All I have to say about protesting somebody is... know exactly what you want to look at...(example) ported and polished head, or a strocker, aftermarket rods, aluminum flywheel know exactly what you want teched do some research on it... if your wrong or don't know what you want looked at you will lose your money.... can't just say tear him down he's cheating.... last year we checked for MSD boxes
and randomly checked cars to make sure they had all foward gears... usally every other week or every week the top 5 had to pop there hoods for us... there was always a lot of speculation that this person or that person was cheating but never ONCE did any body lay any money down..... my advice make sure you know what you want tore down and put your money down...and let the fun begin:eek:

I'm sure we will discuss at the meeting ;) ;) ;)

Protest? usually it boils down to, two different types of competetors. The ones that think all you do is unload the car at the track and the ones that work to develope an edge. It takes a lot less effort to point the finger at the other guy than to work on your own stuff.

hey i admit i juz unload my car, i might mess with a few odds and ends at the track, but i would rather make changes at my shop when i dont have to rush, when ya rush ya make mistakes, i am starting with a nuetral car and makin small adjustments each week, that way if i make a mistake, its not hard to put back and say to myself that was stupid, wont do that no more. anyway, what happens happens, we go on and race and have fun. im so happy to get paid to race now that i could wet myself. had to clean up the mess friday night when i was handed a check. but everyone be safe and have fun.

I too think this is a bunch of crap, I haven't even won a darn race yet so why in the heck would you want to protest me Duckdog!!!!!!

Duckdog is right is what he is trying to get done! He's just trying to take care of problems before bigger problems erupt. I've had two phone calls about a guy who has his engine ported and polished and they were wanting to know the exact procedure on how to do things and when to do them.

I blive this would be the correct procedure..

1) tell tech man you want to protest XX driver car for ported head (I belive it has to be done no later than 5 minutes after the race...but can be done earlier in the night) and lay down the necessary GREEN
2) then the tech man tells XX driver after the race he is being "tore down" ...
3)it the car driver/pitman/crewcheifs responbilities to tear his car down (not the tech man)
4) when said part is ready to be inspected there is only 3 people allowed to see it
a) protester
b) tech man
c) driver of the car or desinated spokeperson
5) then it tech man job to say ya or na
6) if car is legal driver jusr earned some extra dough
if not he just lost some and belive some points

kinda a rough draft of procedure I may have missed a few things I'm sure this topic will be discussed sunday and we will have a 100% correct procedure then.......

Butch get that NOS off there!!!!!:D ;) :D

ps if they refuse to be teched I belive it a automatic DQ and cannot race until it has been check..

EDIT I did have a few thing wrong... thanks to crystal for pointing out where to find them rams web page DUH oh well they say the mind is the first thing to go:eek:
TEARDOWN PROCEDURE

1. Must be in writing within 15 minutes after the feature race is completed.

2. The following are the fees for the teardown procedure:

A. Visual protest, performed by RAMS tech inspector with nothing being removed besides the hood is FREE.

B. Head, or clutch is 100 dollars cash.

C. Complete teardown is 250 dollars cash.

3. You must start the feature to be able to protest another car.

4. The teardown procedure will be done immediately following the feature.

5. Refusal of teardown or found to be illegal will equal loss of points, and loss of winnings for the night with additional 1 week suspension. Teardown fees will also be returned to the protestor.

6. Only the tech inspector, driver/ mechanic may be present during teardown procedure.

7. If driver being protested is found to be legal, the driver being protested will receive all teardown fees collected.

Not Nos
