Its a shame that we all cant appreciate what a wonderful thing it is to be able to go to a racetrack every weekend...why cant we just appreciate all the work the promoters do to please everyone...you cant make everybody happy but they sure as hell try...i think both tracks are great

for me its a distance thing,
i can be at belleville in 20 minutes or so.
45 minutes or more to get to godfrey.
bellevilles show is usually quicker with no long lapses but when i did go, godfrey
was ok. seems kinda dumb to slam any track as they are all better then nothing.

I drive 1:30 minutes to go to Belleville every friday night, I have been to alot of tracks, and in my opinion they have some of the best racing you can get! For the guy who said noone who runs Belleville can win at Godfrey??? You must be crazy!

Lets just say this, if you think that Godfrey can be beat....then bring it on!!!!!

No I'm not saying that Belleville doen't have the goods too...but so does Godfrey..ok so ...you brought this thread on now lets see it? LOL..I just really want to see it...really though it would be good!!!!!:p

Saying that there is no competition at Belleville is ludicrous. Frankie Martin has grown into a serious competitor over the last few years and I belive I've saw him run away from Dixon on multiple occasions. To me that is the best comment you can give someone is to say that they've ran away from Dixon at Belleville. To be honest in my opinion Dixon is much tougher at Belleville and I personally don't give his competition index quite as much stock at Godfrey. He is tough as he is everywhere, but not at the same level. Zobrist and Faust are about on the same level as Martin and Vogit. Also at Belleville early in the season everyone had to deal with Oller which is no easy task. Basically I would go to Belleville, because its one of the wonders of modern era racing. I've been to alot of tracks and it is I'm pretty sure the shortest (with full sized cars) that I've ever seen. The worst thing that it has going for it is the Vegas style dash draw. They really need to get rid of that crap.

Frankie also beet melvin on his own track at the c of c race in mt vernon. He races very successfully sat. nights with faust and zobrist. So who else does that leave? He was track champion at 2 tracks last season. I beleive he finished 4th in ump points last year, and is currently in 3rd this year. Nothing else needs said.

Perhaps they could just re-draw for the top 4 spots in the main--at least that way there's something to race for in the dash. But laynejw, if the re-draw is the "WORST thing that track has going for it", then Belle-Clair obviously has a lot of things going GOOD for it. That pretty much explains why I'm heading down there tonight and not to Godfrey.

Oh, and by the way, Macon is a pretty d--n small track, too. :)

Ah,ya something else does need said....like I said bring them out to Godfrey!!!!

And noone never said they were the best....where talking about Dirt Late Models here....not freakin nascar racing..

and another thing...no forget it I'm sick of this thread:mad:

I have to agree...

Franckie can run with the best, night in and night out, and although Voight was bad fast tonight, he has alot to prove to me, till I can count him with the best UMP has to offer.

Dixon, Faust, Zobrist, and Collins, seem to be Godfrey regulars. And Korte, R Melvin, Sheppard and Matt Taylor have all been there multiple times.

Check the point standings, the better LM competition is at Godfrey!!!

Allied runs a better show, and I've said it before, the B-ville sportsmen are worth the price of admission alone!!!!!

I like LMs but, if it's friday and I'm jonesing for racing, I'll be most likely at B-ville!!!

well......

Have got to say Sheppard was just plain fast tonight out at Godfrey, and let this be said Collins came from last to 2nd oh he was just fast too...if there would have been at least 2 more laps Collins would have smoked Sheppard...not kidding...really that is how fast collins was tonight...but it was one hell of a show out there tonight...great racing guys...that is what I like to see nothing but clean fast driving!!!!!You both were great.....congrats Sheppard on your win... and I still like Godfrey better...J/M/O.....lol:)

This Post Wouldn't Be A Bash Fest If The Kids On Here Would Just State Why They Like The Track They Like The Best. Not Why They Don't Like Another.

A few exhibits from last night at Belleville to show why they have the better show:

Exhibit A: When attrition reduced the Pure Stock semi to 3 cars, they went green/white/checker rather than go through the assisnine formality of running the entire race when everyone knows they will all transfer.

Exhibit B:Instead of having to virtually beg the first feature to come out, they actually had to tell the Sportsman field NOT to come out too early. 18 minutes after the Pure Stock semi ended, the Sportsman feature went green. We're not talking about making the first of several calls to come out --they were actually racing in less than 20 minutes. Gotta love that 3-minute siren.

Exhibit C: All the heats were done by 8:13. That's 12 heats in just 68 minutes.

Exhibit D: 28 LMs for just $1 more admission than Godfrey charges. Compare that to Godfrey's average of, what, 14 LMs or so?

Collins didn't come from last, he started 9th. Faust started last. But the top three were impresive last night.

Wow brandon...im really happy you found some flawless racetrack...maybe you will stay over there.

Hey need 4 speed, when did I say Belleville was "flawless"? They sure weren't flawless during the LM semi last night when Fireball sat over in turn 3 for nearly a lap before the yellow came out.

But I will say that Belleville kicks Godfrey's tail when it comes to running a quick program. :) Funny how that happens when you DON'T QUALIFY multiple classes, don't run 4 CAR heat races, or take MARATHON intermissions.

Well good brandon...im glad you are at peace now...maybe you should stay over there long enough then tell them how to run their track...and godfrey doesnt qualify MULTIPLE classes...just two and that isnt a problem since they dont get 30 cars in each class...and i dont know how many people bring a stopwatch to the races and time the intermissions...most people make an evening of it and dont mind it...well true race fans, anyway....and we dont just sit around thinking about all the things that are wrong with the place...maybe you should start thinking positive, look on the brighter side of life...u might find things more enjoyable.

Well BP makes it sound like they qualify every class, so i was just stating that it was just two and not any more....but either way whats the big deal about qualifying two classes??? especially when they dont have that many in each class. And alot of places qualify 2 classes...i know that MCS qualifies all their classes...which i would consider that Multiple..

Brandon, its not just that...you ***** about every little thing you can...on alot of tracks, and im not the only one sick of hearing it. They try as hard as they can....plus they offered you to help, so why dont you take up their offer..if you think you can make a difference. I dont go to the race tracks to see how fast their intermissions are...but if thats what you do, thats what you do...im not going to argue with you anymore...just please stop complaining about godfrey, or go and help them "solve" their problems..
