Belle Clair Fri - What did you think?

when the track really slicks off, the micros will actually turn better lap times than a midget. not that the micros will get faster, the midgets will slow up a bit. sometimes the micro guys will have the option of running wingless, and most of them opt to do so... thats when you see the good drivers' really shine.

Did not mean to cause a stir about who's faster... (Really knew it was the midgets, all the tracks I raced on when the USAC midgets showed up, they were always quicker that the stock cars.) But what is cool is the debate... stroke of genius Belle-Clare. You brought together 2 factions of dirt fans to mix it up and ask a age old question. Starting with the days when Barney Oldfield raced Lincold Beachey airplane... for the Championship of the Universe! Which is faster?

Sure you had Midget fans and LM fans but together they were real RACING fans!

I didn't get to go to this race but from the videos I would say it was a huge success. The track appeared to be very racey (yet again) and all classes put on a show.

Finally a big event that didn't get rained out!

Right, Midget racer. Take the wings off! Then you get to see the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. What I am also sad to see is the right side panels on the midgets, some look like little super mods. I understand there is protection, but they are also building a wing of sorts. Down the back straight you could see the drivers working the wheel, good stuff. But it's the only place you can see that. I think a lot of fans would love to see the open cockpit, same car, same safety, the panel that cover the divers right side should be lexan, no graphics over it. What do you think?

I sat right next to a Micro racer friday night (he wasn't racing, just watching). He was giving me an education on the sprints, and telling me who to watch, and I was doing the same for the lates. Super nice guy. I enjoyed every min of fri night's races.

That's what we like to hear racn911. Personally, I like to see a championship effort in any sport, be it motorsports or stick & ball sports or swimming or whatever. I don't always know the rules but I appreciate any sportsman or woman who has the drive and skills and desire to excel, even if it isn't "MY" sport. Congrats to all the drivers in all the classes and to all the Fans of all the classes for watching, learning, sharing and enjoying it all.
