Benton racepark 2011

I believe those classes will work well. I personally like mods and I think making them the top weekly class will prove to be a good decision. In the current economic state, the B-mods and factory stocks should produce decent car counts as well.
Hard work and promotion, promotion, promotion are crucial to keeping the place open. Good luck Jerry, and I will help in any way that I can. Now BRING ON SOME RULES!!! lol

dirtboy it's 2 miles off I55 exit 80. Pevely is exit 180 so its 100 mile south of there. Great place, I saw a couple sprint shows there in 08 before they closed.

Good move going to UMP mods as your feature class, sprints or full bore late models would have been a tough move to pull off. My two cents, talk to Tommy Helfrich about running a track. Haubstadt isn't called the "class track" for no reason. One thing that they do very well is keep the show moving. Before Benton closed the last time, far too often... the sprint feature was pulling off at 11:30 or midnight, AFTER a thirty minute intermission. IMO, that was one of the death nails to the track being able to draw and keep fans

need to run the classes that has the most cars in the area work out with malden, farmington, etc.and could run crate class also

tire rule will be a and h only in the mod class and b-mods will be allowed a and h or g-60 also asphalt pull offs other rules coming soon

Benton

I was told that we were taking the Aries Plumbing # 66 A-mod down there quiet often. Can't wait to see Brian and Tina again.

With the b mods being able to run A's I'll be there as long as our motors are legal. Motor rules similar to Doe Run, Farmington, and the Lake would be a good choice there are alot of b mods in the area running lose rules. Plus with running emods I wouldn't need to spend money on tires for a Saturday night track. Which I wasn't wanting to do anyway along with quite a few other racers. If motor and weight rules were used like at the Lake it could make it work for Malden cars and Doe Run, Farmington cars.

In the B-mods, a motor/weight rule is being discussed and considered. You are absolutely correct, it needs to be made where Malden and the northern cars can all come and compete with what they have and not have to spend a bunch of money changing things. I hope that some of the guys who do not want to run on those hard hockey puck tires up north may see Benton as a viable alternative and come down to play with us. We should know tomorrow what Jerry has decided to do for sure on the rules.

Dont think the UMP Mod is the best way to go. Too expensive and you will get guys with deep pockets come down and dominate like what happened at The Rock. This is still a bad economy and the fans dont know the difference between IMCA or UMP but the car owners do.

NBMS----whoa with the deep pockets,,,you are plenty fast and a good enough driver to overcome that,, tire rules will be "A" or "H".
Kinda makes the little engines compete with the big engines. SO PUT ON THE MAN PANTS AND RACE...
I say spectators and drivers need to support "the new owner" and bring Benton back to life.

AIRPRESSURE>>>>>I appreciate the kind word and all was going good till the MAN PANTS thing..... that really hurt:( I have been a huge supporter of that track in the past and will be in the future. No where in my post did I say I would not support the track but a forum is for ideas and opinions and that was mine and I have every right to it. Also, I supported this track so much I still have an outstanding loan that I made to one of the promoters that I have never gotten back and probably will never see again and it wasnt just a couple of hundred dollars. Still not a big UMP fan but hey.... thats life!

I saw WoO Sprints and a SN show there in the '90s. Good Track for your bucket list. LOL!

Any idea when the b mod rules will be available. Curious minds would like to know if they'll be able to race there or not. I was there the first time I drove a mod in 2004 (then it closed the next week). I would like to go back again and try it.

Nice job including all cars in the area to the b mod class. I personally don't think a big motor helps all that much. Bill Nickelson had a crate motor in his b mod and ran very competitive and won a lot of races with it. It's more about drivability as apposed to raw horsepower.
