Racer chick is one over the drivers on my list of favorite drivers to run at belle-clair , next to my dad of course.

heres my thoughts; the property is landlocked between 2 sets of rr tracks. there is 1 entrance/exit back to the property.. that cannot change, because of the rr tacks. because there is only 1 entrance, there is pretty much no way the city is gonna allow any type of develpment, due to the inability of any type of emegency services to get there. that, in my opinion, rules out condos, apartments, subdivisions, etc. as i understand it, the property has changed ownership several times in the last 20 years or so. nobody can do anything with it, probably for that reason. in my opinion,it would be very difficult, if not impossible to open the track back up, due to the nearby residences there now, not there in 1980. i am thinking it's pretty well stuck in limbo. i would love to see it re-open, but i can see the line forming now at city hall of people complaining about the noise. hell, people even buy a house (fully aware)near the airport and complain about the noise!! i am NOT trying to be negative here, but just spelling it out like it always happens in real life. as far as another reunion, i say heck yes!!

The entrance/exit problem is NO Problem. It is being looked into. there is a way in behind the house, it has over grown and is unuseable right now. The main entrance will need to be rebult biger (also in the works) Vally Park would rather see a business go in there rather than condo's. More of a revenue producer that way. KEG is working on things now (as Im told) but is not saying anything at this point. I think it is because he don't want to get our hopes up over something that might not happen.
As far as another Reunion as long as the lands stays "as is" and KEG own's it I'd almost bet there would be a CHANCE for one this year. The hard part of that is with everyone racing all over the nation during the summer it's hard to get people to show up. Keep making post is the only way to show KEG and Vally Park that we as race fans want to keep the track around. Any updates on the progress of the track would be most thank full. At this point even a rumor positive one that is would lift our hopes up. other wise this is like beating a dead horse.
 
well, kent; looks like you got it all figured out. however, some of what you say i don't get.i doubt if the railroad will quit using the tracks while they re-do the tunnel. if it was that easy, i believe it would've been done by now, by one of the prior owners. i will stand by what i said, though, because i've been going there since the 70's. i would like to see it re-open, like i said, but times do change, and taxpaying residents are getting a stronger voice at city hall these days; and that's kinda sad. thanks.
 
I don't have it figured out. If I did It would be open. Just saying what I know. Nothing was said about the tunnel although now that you brought it up, As I understand it with 2 entrance's the tunnel is not an issue. You will not need to bring big trailers like the latemodels or NASCAR have because there never will be stock car racing there again due to the residents. That much is a fact.
 
But the smaller racers like karts / QM / and car shows / banquiets / ect; Even the kart's as much as I hate to say might be too loud. But looking to save the track for all of the other things I said and hopefully other's that do not make a lot of noise might work. If city Hall did not want to see if something other than condo's would work there, then I think they would not ok'd KEG to have the reunion to start with. Im not the one to ask everyone needs (like I said) get KEG to offer some insight on this. I wish I had it figured out I would love to see it reopen with the track look.

I was surprised how many people have told me that they either didn't know about it or that because of the holiday that they were not able to attend. I don't know if it could be as big a day as the last one was,but it is certainly something to consider. I wouldn't see anything wrong with having a St.Louis auto racing memoribilia and cars etc. to go along with it.
Lake Hill Speedway always welcomed racers from anywhere with open arms.

Sure would like to see the Medlock brothers. It's been a long time since we have all been together at the track.

On Tuesday January 15 St. Louis Motorsports Review will run pt.1 of the Lake Hill Speedway Reunion show.
Mike will be interviewing Russ Wallace,Mike Mittler,Art Gross and Donnie Klein along with video of some of the cars on the track
Kenny Wallace will also be on the show
St. Louis Motorsports Review can be seen on Charter Cable channel 18

I know I must be one of the few but shure wish It could be see on dish also. I know it's a Dish/Charter issue but it's a darn shame. Can't get enough local racing on TV and get cought in the middle of this crap. Oh Well Has St. Louis Motor Sports thought of having it on dish also?
 
Charter Cable

I live in Hillsboro, Mo. and CHARTER has not and probably never will offer enhanced service so I had to switch to DIRECT TV 4 years ago so I could get the channels necessary to see all of the NASCAR races. You need to have the enhanced service to get all the channels and high speed internet. I have been waiting for over 4 years for this service . If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know. Thanks, John Hindrichs, #21 late model at Lake hill.
