Summer Nationals price ?

Love the two class thing for a weeknight and the gate price seem reasonable to me. btw, went to Haubstadt this past weekend for a two class show, 410 winged sprints (MOWA) and non wing MSCS sprints. Incredible show, packed grandstand and I mean a really good attendance, and out by 10:00p. There's a reason why Haubtadt not only has great attendance but great rep.

You say you have a cut off point ( 20.00 ) but you then you say you will wait till Friday and pay 28.00? I am a bit confused. You have 2 different type of tracks to watch them - Bullring or big track !!! This quality of cars will be to watch on the bullring !!!!!!
its a 5k show on a weeknight and i wasnt gonna mention driver names, but for instance...Birky will not be at Belleville, he will be at T-city...Erb wont be at either one...figures you gonna pull some bigger names for a 10k show ?...and its Friday at T-city runnin 3 classes

Last night I went to the cards/cubs game. Had decent tickets at $56 ea (face value $75), parking was $20, had a couple beers and a snack. Spent over $100. For a regular season Monday night game. I don't think it was a rip off....but I'd gladly spend that money at any of these summer nationals shows and have a much better time. The ticket prices are not high at all.

As a real race fan if you can afford to go and spend the 28 to get in you would if you like belleville some can't that is understandable but the track has to make money to keep running.the economy is killing racetracks gateway had the silver crown show a few weeks ago and the stands were very light and I saw a lot of people that would have been at belle Claire or tri city if not for the rainout.gateway ran xdrl last weekend and there was 2 to 300 in the stands at best moose mania was dead also so almost all tracks are suffering.belleville needs the fans to support it before it is done in also.

I don't no about going Thursday . They may get 40 Lates but not so sure about mods . Last Fridays 100 lapper paid $270.50 to win for a weekend show and only 19 mods and Fireball showed up . Last years National show only got
about 12 mods . So again I don't no about $28 for this Thursday show .

3abreast: Don't know where you got your figures, but the top three spots paid well above your figures.

After an awesome fan, Livin4Racin and an awesome sponsor, Mike with Kettler and Sons Flatwork, this Fridays "TTG 100" Mike Meurer Memorial Modified Showdown now pays $1750 to win, $950 for second $600 for 3rd and $200 to start!!!!

I think your right about the 30 cars . I am thinking of the year before but don I still don't understand why a race that paid $1750 to win only get 19 mods. Do they hate Belleville that bad ?

Ok, so I would have wished for Harrison, Meavert & Long would have been there & weren't. Still the TTG ranks in my book 2nd only to Mod Mania when it comes to great Mod racing outside of SummerNationals.
If you didn't come 3abreast you missed a great race, a good night of racing done on time & as Dave said go to a Cards game to see what real money is about. $28 to see a Summernationals event is money well spent & will be at both this weekend & still spend less than 1 Cards game.

Maybe the 100 lapper was a little light on car count simply because it was a 100 lapper. Most local modified guys count mainly on their weekly paycheck to fund their racing operation. If you do the math, you are using up 5 times the fuel, tires, and wear and tear on your car for about 2.5 times the pay. I don't know the numbers, but if I recall correctly, I don't think the 100 lap late model race at belleclair usually has a huge car count either.

7 cars finished. I wonder how many of the dnf's were simply because the driver decided that they didn't have a chance at the big money, and pulled in to save fuel and tires.

That said, I really wish I would have had my car ready for it. And if they have it again, I will definitely try to be there. I just can't fault a local low budget guy for not wanting to spend the money.

In all seriousness though it's a legitimate question.... I dont have a opinion either way. I'm just curious also why is the admission $28.00 for a $5000 to win and then the next night it's $28.00 for a $10,000 to win. There's quite a bit of difference. Is it Tri City is to cheap??? What would you guys say if Tri City decided they was going to charge $35-$40 for the $10,000 to win show would you guys complain about that?? You guys are basically saying it's ok to pay $28 for a $5000 then a $10,000 oughta be worth more.... right??

Its simple the week night show will only draw 800 to 1000 fans and will barely break even. the Friday or Saturday show will automatically draw 1400 to 1600 or more and easily covers the extra $10,000 plus some! We all want the fri or sat shows but there aren't any to have. Your not paying to see the purse you are paying to see a Great show. The absence or appearance of a few cars will not effect the quality of the race you will see weekday or weekend! Its simple economics 1000 x 28=28,000 1600 x 28=44,800 easily covering $10,000 extra purse. It cannot be the Hell tour with only weekend races. It is the weekday shows that need your support not your bantering!

How about we do this, Either go or don't go and quit the complaining. Having a Summer Nationals race is not cheap. It cost these promoters money just to have the race in the first place and then they have to pay the purse on top of that and like Don said a week day show does not pull in the same amount of fans as a weekend show. I know last year some of these promoters either lost their a ss or barley broke even. They are having these shows for you the fans and yes in some cases some might make a little money having the race and is that not what we want them to do so, they can keep the doors open so, we can go and see some good caliber of cars and drivers and good racing at most all these events. Now go buy your ticket and support these tracks that you can make it to or you may be seeing the last of these type of show's.

How dose Tri city continue to get a weekend date over Bell Clair any way ? Bell Clair has been a UMP track way longer than Tri city so why do they continue to get the top choice when they both run on the same night ?

tricity i dont know but it looks like 5000 fans easy and its pretty full plus another 2000 or so in the pits food pit pass etc thats like 200 grand plus not bad

Great post!

The local Mckay Napa's have some discount tickets left for 20 dollars for the race at Tri City. Included in price is pit pass well worth the money
