TCS- Best Dirt Track around, ONLY if ????

I grew up in Granite City and went to the track alot. I will never go there unless the outlaws are running on the half mile. With that guy running it...A WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a different promoter, or atleast a different promoting strategy this track would be packed on a weekly basis.

i hear that part might happen

I'm sure Wente reads the board. I've had calls from him many times about content on the board.

As i said before, wente does check and read some of the post from this site. Jdearing has said it for a fact. If wente is stepping to the side and letting someone else run the track then it will be better off. A playground has too much liability and isn't ever gonna happen. The winter season is coming and wente and others have plenty to do to fix his image. He has the best Track in the area and it needs damage control this off season. SO, well see what happens and who is really running the track next year. Either way he has the power to do what he pleases and that alone is bad news.

Just what Devilboy needs Jimmy, encouragement.
Bob gets all his info second hand, at least the last time we talked about it. As far as I know the man doesn't even own a computer.
That may have changed since the last time I spoke to him, but I think it's more a case of somebody calls Bob and then Bob calls JD. I could be wrong, and Jimmy may be right, who knows, and frankly who cares!

Well, you do. Pitboss go play with your pics. You just might find a good one somewhere. Have a good night my little friend with a camera??????????????????????????????????????????????????

I grew up at TCS and never did I hear of anyone child gettting seroiusly injured on the old playground. Like 2extreme said....
That is a risk you take when you enter the gates.....
And as far as Dennis taking pics..... he is the best.
I know , I have a whole lot.....................:D

Why do you keep questioning yourself Devilboy?
Can't find any sense in your own posts? Neither can anyone else.

The ONLY thing that matters to me out of all this childishness, including some of my own, is that the car counts go up, the drivers are happier, and the stands fill up. But it's a fair bet that tracks besides TCS are hoping the same thing. There is a lot of competion out there for the entertainment dollar of the working class. Change can be good. But it will never be brought about with bashing.

Thanks Randy!

Just what the Stl area needs is one more 1/4 mile. We don't have enough of those already.

Look at the work of several others before you proclaim pitboss the areas best photo man.

Pitboss bashing is part of the american way, just look at all the elections and other things happening today. Either your way r my way? But, remember this my friend? I know that a change is needed and then your car count will go up? So, pitboss for such a little man, you do a lot of bashing yourself?

Thanks Mav, but Dean is right. There are quite a few dedicated, great photographers out there. Leeman, Porter, Viviano, Hammett, Jeffs Mills, etc. Millsey has posted some pictures from photographers whose names I don't remember, but they were spectacular shots! I'm sure I'm not listing near as many as some of you could name. While he's not a local, nobody is better at dirt track shootin' than Rick Schwallie.... he is the best! The man is a true artist.........if you've never checked out his website do. You won't be disappointed!

I don't do this for a living, I do it because I love racing. Nobody knows more than me that I am a small fish in a big pond. Never tried to pretend to be anything more. I hope to be as good as some of the above mentioned names someday.

Fact is I have gotten to know most of the drivers, and their families and you just can't help but like them. They are flat out just good people. To me that's as important as snapping the shot. We hope to return next season for more great racing! With all of the possible changes occuring who knows maybe even the Dog will return for a race or two! ;)
Gotcha Dog! :p

Maybe your get the rule changes in 2005. If there is gonna be changes it would be for the better? The way it is now is ruding TCS. Change can be good if the correct personal are put in place. But, remember wente still has and always will be the last and final say in what happens. My vote is for NEW OWNERSHIP PEROD.

YA' EVER THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE A REASON AS TO WHY THERE IS ONLY ONE 1/2 MILE?

AS FAR AS READING THIS BOARD, MOST OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WITH A COMPUTER READ THIS BOARD, OR ASK WHATS BEING SAID ON IT!

THERE ARE SOME THAT SAY THEY DON'T, BUT I KNOW THEY DO. JUST LET SOMETHING BE SAID ABOUT THEM......LOL!

Most of the kickass photos Milsey post and prints come from Trashdog photos, some from fred harl.

not my place

Not my place to say what the changes are,but there are changes coming, and not in 2005,it will be in 2004!

What i think would be a good idea, and from the person i talked with he is very interested in hearing people's ideas,is before the rules meeting next year.....get together with some people one evening(racers and people interested in racing there)and hash out a few ideas and toss some ideas out and see what comes out of it so when the rules meeting takes place...........all that could be out of the way already!Even invite a few promotors from other tracks to sit in on it,then you have an idea what they are lookin to do...can look thru there rules maybe to see what the track can do to make there's similar!

I truly hope for all of the great people that frequent TCS that the changes that occur over the winter months are good for the drivers and the fans.

That's worth repeating. :)
