UMP membership a MUST!!

I think this is some what silly that we are worrying about this so much. I agree it ****s. Add another cost to a sport that we drain everything we have in to. However, we spend thousands if we can gain a few tenths a lap, yet we are complaining about another 125 bucks. I dont want to pay it, but think about it im not having a car that I have spent THOUSANDS on in the garage bc I wont pay 125. UMP has us by our um balljoints and they know it. One more thing to **** up and go on.

so thats what they call them lol

what does the track get for being an official ump track? iam just a fan but without knowing everything it appears to be a money grab. lets see a allied sportsman pays ump to race at 2 tracks? with all of the different rules on sportsman and such the first thing i would have done is to make the rules across the board. and speaking of rules enforce them! yes i feel for the drivers with no other place to race what do you do? maybe it will go back to the old days of s.a.r.a and the old allied meaning tracks will have there own associations. Maybe one of you drivers could tell us what you got from ump following last season i would like to know what the 10 in points driver in the mods at your local track that finishes 50th in ump points got.

where dose all the money from tires go i was told so much goes towards ump points i no what my tire bill is and i have 4 friends with a 20,000 plus tire bill that would cover alot of end of the year payout

Since the local tracks sanctioned their support class with UMP the last 4 or 5 year the car counts have done nothing but drop. The tracks need to realize the only benifit UMP is to them is in the LM & Mod.
Leave the rest of the classes unsanctioned, they will get the same cars. UMP will still make money from the Sportsmen & Bomber through tire sales.

I may have missed it but what if you want to run 2 classes? Do you have to buy memberships for every division you want to run? Or if you buy say a sportsmen are you covered to run street stocks and hornets or how's that work?

afraid car counts will go down, a number of racers just like to race, could care less about ump points so if they show up and have to leave how many will ever be back,or park it and say the h$$$ with it and quit all together. we are losing enough cars as it is i see no need to help them along. jmo

what i was told regarding my deal, having a a and b mod that if i bought the a mod membership that would cover all lower classes...

terry young is a man that had a silver spoon in his mouth when he was born also!!! just another big shot who gets kick from ump somehow... just face it ump is a bunch of jack sticks that dont have no worries about teams cause their only worried about lining their pockets!!! somebody is roling over in his grave right now with all the sh-t they have done since he passed!!!!

Your comments really don't even deserve a reply, but for those who really know me, they realize how off base your comment is about the silver spoon... actually it was a gold spoon and if you want to talk about me please get your facts straight!

I was raised in an average middle class home by a Father who was a factory worker and a Mother who worked in an insurance company as a clerk, neither of them made a lot of money to shower me with, but what they did shower me with was love, integrity, the concept of standing by your word and not being afraid to work an honest days labor for an honest days pay!

I have been fortunate that I have been surrounded with good business mentors, good racing friends and connections and I have been succesful at what I do... so if that is your idea of being born with a "silver spoon" then I say drink another extra large glass of that haterade and hate on brother! Jealousy is a horrible thing!

:)

this is all pretty simple. DONT COMPLAIN TO UMP, its not their problem. your issue should be with your local track that is UMP sanctioned. if you dont want UMP, tell your track you dont want them to be a UMP track.

The only problem with this whole membership fee to me is different rules at every track. I wouldn't mind paying the fee to ump if all the tracks ran ump purestock rules so we could run at other tracks with out having to make changes other than gears. The more parts you have to change the more it cost. When you pay a fee to a sanctioning body you should be able to run at any of the tracks they sanction that run your class. UMP modified and latemodels can run any ump track and be legal.

I have been reading all of this and cant really understand why everyone is *****ing about this. All other sanctioning bodies charges a membership fee. Yes most allow a one night temp license. The only problem I have with it is that all the tracks across the county for late and mods are the same rules. It should be the same way in every class they sanction. I know they are fairly new to the lower classes but how can you charge a guy at TCS running a street stock the same fee as a guy in IN that is a totoally different class and give them points for the same thing. IMCA USRA and others you can go anywhere in the county and race if you want to but not with UMP. I think the first think UMP needs to do over the next couple years is to make all the street stock, factory stock, pure street, whatever they want to call them all the same rules. Then start charging membership fees. I dont know why the track owners dont get together and reguire this, why dont they? They dont want to you be able to go anywhere else, its greed, they want your money but dont want you to give it to anyone else! Wake up UMP, get your sh*t straight and stop dropping the ball on the lower classes. It would be nice if UMP would start something like what IMCA as in Boone every sept, but they cant do it.

Because none of the tracks want to change their Street Stock, Pure Stock, Factory Stock rules!!

Drivers all want unified rules from track to track as long as it is THEIR track's rules.. I guarantee they won't be happy if they have to build a new car to meet the unified rules.
