This is the family of #00 Rick Rhoades.
Rick had a bad accident today while unloading the racecar out of his trailer.
The car got caught on the rear door cables and he tried to free the cables and when he did they snapped in half.Resulting in 2 of his fingers being cut off.Left thumb,Right pinky and breaking his left wrist. He is in Springfield memorial Hospital.I will keep you posted as we find out more details.

Thank you for all your support,
Barb,Chris,Stacy,David,Nikki and Grandkids.

We wish Rick a speedy recovery, and are saddened by the terrible news...hope to see him back at the track

Ok Rick is out of recovery and in his own room. The doctor did tell my mom that the thumb dont look good(after it was put back on)He is going to wait until this afternoon to see if there is any improvement in it.If not and he thinks it will never work again. They are going to take the thumb back off and leave it at that.Even after all he has been through..He only wants 1 thing...."A DAMN CIGARETTE"..lol.I also wanted to thank those of you who have posted on my dads behalf.I will be sure and print these and take them to him.You all are more then welcome to call over and talk to him in a day or two.I know he would like that.Hes going to be in Springfield Medical for 7 to 10 days.Again thank you and I will keep you posted.

Stacy.

Ok..Good news everyone!..The doctor came in to check the thumb for feeling and movement...He moved it for the doctor and he could feel the doctor poke his thumb. His thumb is also warm which means the blood is flowing like it should. He is still a lil out of it but they are talking to him and letting him know where hes at and whats going on.Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers we need all we can get.My mom sends her greatest thanks. She is a lil tired and wanting him home. But other then that shes doing good as well. When she called to update me a few mins ago.I read all the replys to her and she couldnt believe it.Thanks again.
