Sorry to hear about this bad news :( I have seen those cables break one time and he is very lucky. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family and the doctors at this time.

Hello, I haven't talked to Rick in years, but would you please tell him that I'm wishing him a speedy recovery. Had my share of the hospital trip, Rick will know what I mean.

just got off the phone with his daughter and he is going back to the operating room tomorrow the first surgery did go as well as we had hoped it would but rick is doing fine and rick rhoades is not going to let anything stop him .He has his family and all of his friends praying for him and if i know my uncle rick he will be back in the race car as soon as he can.
 
I wish Rick a speedy recovery..there will be plenty of time for racing, just take time to recover properly and you will be back....anything you need just let me know..

I am so sorry to hear of Ricks accident. Hope he regains majoity of the use of both digits. Tell him to do as the doctor says ( we all know racers dont like to listen...ha ha:) ). We wish him a speedy recovery and our prayers are with him and the entire family.

I also dont know rick on personal level, but love to watch him race. Wishing him a speedy recovery, cant wait to see him back on the track.
 
Ok there has been a change in news today..As of last night the doctor was going to remove the thumb this morning.But we talked to him early this morning and now he wants to wait until tomorrow morning now because he says the thumb could start working.As of right now its not.But if its not working by morning they are going to remove it.Dad is doing good.We talked to him this morning and he was ordering him some breakfast.Which is a good sign.The only problem he has with everything is the IV in his neck.I called him last night after i got the news(about the thumb being removed)and I ask him how he felt about it?..He said.."Just get it over with."But as always I will keep you all updated.I wanted to let you all know that you might not be in his small world right now.But you are in his big world that matters the most...HIS RACIN WORLD!

Rick....we are thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. I will miss giving you crap this Friday at the pit shack, but take your time and heal well and get back to the track when you can!

Ok...We just talked to the doctor..Dad might get to come home today..But..If he does they want him back over there wednesday so that they can take his thumb back off.But his pinky is lookin good,His left wrist has pins in it.But he is doing really good.Thank you all again for caring about dad and wishing him well.Im sure he will post a message as soon as he feels better.
