Federated Auto Parts @ I-55 Attn: UMP Pro Mods (B-Mods) at I-55

Crate late models are far from being phased out... Central & northern Illinois have a lot..

The Nesmith Series is growing rapidly as well.
I agree to point. But look at the tracks that dropped them around here. All their current car counts are dropping at every track they run. Look at route 45 and see the average per night. 6 to 9 cars???Kentucky same way. Class cannot support itself with those kind of numbers and in due time will be gone as well. I wish nesmith would come around here! Be a good thing for that series and the street stocks as well!

And the nesmith membership has dropped as well for the crates. Think i read 20 percent. Could be wrong so it might be a sign of economy of that people are getting out of there as well. They do seem to claim motors more and keep the cheating reigned in better. When was the last time a crate was claimed and torn apart around here????

Can tech them all you want but to really tech a crate it needs torn down. Cam pulled. Crank and rods and pistons pulled and inspected.

it ain't the tech when you guys that have been racing for 10 ,15 20 yrs guess who win run up front just saying

I agree 100 percent Experience pays off huge and some of the you guys like josh russell are even better. Just making a statement and not saying anyonr is legal or illegal. But what i am saying is ghe crates were not tech'd enough the right way. Yank the motor. Pull it apart and then come out and say they are good. Didnt have enough of that and i think thats why people quit racing the class. 3 cars currently running in the crates are gone next year. One is moving to full blow lates and the other 2 are done all together. Ump promised to tech and didnt fulfill that promise so people wondered if cars were legal or illegal. Heck i dont care personally and the ones up front deserve to be there because they wre smooth and dont make mistakes. But there seems like alof of guys were let down thinking motors were going to be checked weekly and didnt happen. Down south and east of us it did happen and people got caught quite a few times so thats why people wonder.

A valve spring checker, dial indicator, and a vacuum gauge would go a long way in checking to see what's legit!

really not teched some teams have been teched 3 times a night SPREAD THE TECH AROUND

I realize i55 has had them but how often is it used? and the crate motors that were torn down and deemed legal passed inspections earlier until the got confiscated. You can alter cranks rods pistons and even camshafts and still the normal inspection wont detect it or it will be real close. My whole issue is this and I appreciate everyone's opinion and respect them all. But you can build an allied spec motor cheaper or damn close than what a crate costs. Bet your could build it for around 4500 but that's just throwing numbers around. Wont have to change springs!!! And it will last just as long. And.......easier to tech! UMP is now hounding about the weight rule but those 2 engines(crate and allied spec motor) are equivalent so throw the weight rule out. Funny thing is if you read the 2015 rules it clearly says must use one 2 bbl or one 4 bbl carb yet doesn't say if its for the crate or open motors!! UMP also said to use the 602 but yet the rules say 602 or 604?? Im with the ones not wanting to add weight. We ran into this years ago when wente ran the econo lates on the 1/2 mile. They kept adding weight but those cars were not designed to be that heavy then they came to a tipping point and had to back off. I just don't want to see this class messed up more than it currently is with the wide range of rules track to track. You start demanding this and demanding that then people building cars or are hoping to go into the class get disappointed fast. And ill repeat............the crate motors wont work unless you start exchanging motors just to show people are honest! There were motors that people had and swore were legal that were not. Motors that were claimed to be 'just taken out of the crate' that were found to have altered parts. The crate deal circulates on the fact of exchanging motors and if that's not done might as well not do it. But in the end as I said before you can build an allied legel engine cheaper and less cost of maintenance!! Changing springs every 3 races sucks and adds to the cost.

You guys seem to forget that there are other areas to race than "AlliedTrack Rules" ...There are 50 states in the US,,not just Highland, tri city and Pevely,,If UMP had a set of nads and tracks would get a set also and use them the same way,,this class would grow in leaps and bounds. But again we have a gutless set of rules from a gutless sanctioning body and tracks that allow their buddies to sway them to help them selves and set up a set of so called "track rules" .So the UMP rules mean nothing....Go figure,,they have already ruined this class just like the street stocks..IT IS TIME TO OUST UMP FOLKS

yes out NASCAR for changing rules every week also and what difference does it make a crate won last night got another question why did die out in the first place yeah it was around in the late 90s and UMP doesn 't run all 50 states so thats a mute point nor do they care to

Overall vehicle weight will increase by 100 pounds each year, for cars using this engine option. The weights shall be: 2015- 2500 pounds, 2016 – 2600 is this to hard understand

why not what ever floats your boat I don't think toyota that would be in that price range or available

All they need is to compression check a crate if it's over 9to 1 it's illegal engine builders I have talked to said when they get to 10 to 1 with 4 barrel they are hard to beat
